              Surreal

do not linger here,
time is too precious.

do not be misguided
by the evasiveness, serene & shallow;
it may have incalculable depth.
not to engulf, nor consume,
but to allow luxurious breath.

all of our world & our universe
may sojourn here:
all that is unfathomable,
all that we yearn to fathom.

upon its untenable road, we may stumble.
if we gaze at its far horizon,
& do not see art
(as we perceive it)
would we turn away?

we come here merely to explore.

what we find, we may keep.

it has no value,
except what we ascribe to it.

On the Hour

I wear a cloak of my own skin
Wrapped loose around my naked self

Where spider veins have been exposed
And show the pulse of deeper pains

To walk my feet upon the tiles
And leave the bloodied prints in line

That never lead to where I might
Receive salvation from this plight

To hear the ones before me scream
And warn me not to follow them

So onward up a different path
The sight of clearing sky ahead

That rises o'er a summit vast
And blows away my mantle skin

And now I'm on a playground green
Where children stop in shock of me

While others hide their eyes to see
The horror of my human grief

I bow and fall down on the ground
And turn to lie upon my back

To feel the warming calm of earth
The heat of sun is soon revealed

And nourishes my new-born flesh
While worms & slugs & sow bugs crawl

Like tiny fingers laying roots
Where I become a bush that grows

The tender shoots to grow the buds
Becomes a flower garden sweet

Inviting bees and butterflies
That soon will pollinate the blooms

To fill a vase that sits upon
A table set for company

Where one place is set just for me
The flowers entertain a bee

The guests are talking quietly
Till in I come, smile, "Dinner's served."

Somewhere I  Can Forget

A place with more than just my bad intentions
Some land without merit and honorable mention
It's where you go to be wanted and never deferred
The place where all the haunted can speak their words

It's sanctuary in the face of Notre Dame
I bet there was many a tear in the eyes when he sung this song
I understand that this place isn't for everyone
But if I take you with me it'll let both of us have some fun

Where the bones don't rattle and you can't feel cold
Journey with me to a place of new and of old
You can go there in your sleep where visions are wild with wonder
Then eyes buck at the first clap of thunder

Somewhere, somewhere deeper than in the mind
A place to forget all malice and its' design
I am not from there but only saw a glimpse
A land with less inferno but still some nymphs

When you feel quite tired and need more than home to sleep
There is a place that lets you do more than count sheep
Ask for molly or X at the door and be quiet about it
Because the dealer is never too far away; please don't doubt this

A place to forget, somewhere you can come close to death
I call it home and never fear this danger zone
This is my steeple and I am the keeper
Come closer one day my love; don't fear the reaper

Lucid

Most of it is blurry,
And for that, I'm grateful-
Waking in a hurry
From those eyes so hateful..
Chatting with my mother,
The day bright and beaming,
Just like any other,
Except I was dreaming..
Somehow I realized
That I wasn't conscious,
That was when in her eyes
I saw something monstrous.
Everything around me
Stood completely still,
Save for those fiery
Eyes that craved to kill;
Burning coals through my soul,
Embers that overwhelm,
In those cold empty holes,
I witnessed my true Hell.
It was like I'd summoned
Something so abysmal
That it's eyes could bludgeon,
Leaving my soul dismal.
I panicked and I scurried
About the frozen scene,
Never more so hurried
To flee from a dream.
Luckily I awoke,
To a cold December
Before that Demon spoke
Something I'd remember.

Hidden and Hushed

I’ve had vivid dreams that would make anyone blush,
Like lucid streams of my subconscious thought rushed,
With lurid fun to see fantasies that will make you scream,
Extraordinary sceneries I kept quiet, hidden and hushed.

The key to them has been my lingering fascination,
Instilling images in the deepest recesses of my mind,
But a dream is a production which I cannot control,
When I find myself in a realm without space or time.

All the faces and places, phases and stages,
Have a profound unsound yet rippling effect,
Themes and schemes are not what they seem,
Like an unstable fable without a fixed subject.

Even as the architect of the reverie I’m just as lost,
When the situation never goes according to plan,
A dream is a wild thing that can reach the depths,
Of the heart and soul and everything known to man.

The most secret and sacred of illusions can surface,
In ways and forms that are beyond my imagination,
With stories that sometimes won’t make any sense,
And meanings that are left open to interpretation.

So the next time I dream something crazy and extreme,
I’ll keep a leash on that insightful and delightful affair,
My lucid dreams are mine to keep, hidden and hushed,
From pretty exotic visions to my most erotic nightmare.

Dreams II

I dreamt again of the mountain
Broodingly sombre against darkening sky
I felt the fear within my heart
For at the peak, stands the portal to the underworld
I awoke in tears because I knew
A family member would die soon
We buried my mother within that month

The girl awoke at the break of dawn
Run to her mother and told her dream
Of a huge crocodile coming into her room
The mother looked at her and smile
For soon she might have grandchildren
She patted her hair and thought of veils
The girl married her love that year

The sickly elderly woman woke
To the silent night
Smile and knew she would get well soon
For she dreamed she gave birth
Depicting her illness that has gone away
Birth by potions Shaman made
Next day she finished a bowl of porridge

The man avoided the wife that day
Silent did he go away
He dreamed she had two heads
Knew she was unfaithful to him
Avoiding her screams of denials
He left for a village far away
That year the woman married her lover

Dreams are thoughts of what may come
Sent by reflections from the nether realms
Uninhibited thoughts seep into the inner mind
Words unsaid with pictures showed
Where mortal coils are discarded for a while
Allow thoughts unhampered through form
Messages from where they are to where we are

I feel him

Though fading from black
Back into the distant me
My mind fights for recognition
My monster has visted and left his ugly mark
I wake to grubby black fingers
My sketchpad in hand
Looking into the eyes of sandman
He kiseed my eyes shut
Then licked at the hollows underneath
With rancid tongue
Always penetrating
And i have captured his murky essence in dreamstate
My twighlight hell
The darklord of my gloaming
He reigns with red stick
Poking and prodding at my safe world
Always reminding me
That he is gazing over my shoulder
Watching my body in fetal surrender like a crow
Who flies by night
His terror screech invading all hope of sweet dream

Lucid Nightmare

The dream begins easlily enough
Sun shining, people laughing
Familiar places.

Then your perception begins to skew
Shaping it's self according to your mood
The lucid nightmare has you.

Faces begin to elongate
Teeth become sharp
Eyes shiny and dark.

They chase me down alleys
Through city streests i've never seen
The demons sometimes appear as loved ones.

Though you know it's not them by their bark
You realize this is only a dream
You turn and see you have wings.

The demons barking at your heels
You take flight
Into the night sky.

Leaving them tethered to the Earth
Their faces fade away
The lucid dream has saved you.

You search and scan, for landscapes you recognize
On the balcony of a tenement
A sage appears.

He points out over a lake
There are people sailing
I ask him what is their destination?

He just stands there smiling
Leaving me with the question
He says it's up to each to pick there destination.

I then awaken
Shaken but grateful
For a lucid nightmare ended.

Dreams

As I walk naked down the street
My cares are all in retreat
No clothing to encumber
Have I struck a lucky number?

Free as air I wander round
To the beach I am bound
Why are all the people staring
Is it because what I'm not wearing.

My cares return as I awake
My mind clearly needs a break
My dream has suggested the way
I'll book a nudist holiday

357 Magnum

Last night I had a dream, it involed my revolver.
When i carry it around, it's like my problem solver.
Most of my dream was a blurr, but I remember a few things that occured.
I was sitting in my car, at a parking lot.
There were three guys There, I remember we fought.
I went back to my car, and reached for my gun.
Once I pointed it at them, they all started to run.
I went after the one that had started the fight.
When I finally caught him, his eyes lit up in fright.
I fired one to his chest, and he fell to the floor.
He continued to move, so I fired two more.
As he laid on the floor, with his blood gushing out.
He was dead now for sure, that I knew with no doubt.
Now I drove around town, to go after his friends.
I've already decided, this is when there life ends.

Reoccurring

Something there
Yet not to see
Cloaked in dreams
Vision blank
Like white paper reams

Hidden well
A low lit blur
There but cold
Loud unknown
Like secrets untold

Just beyond
Outside of reach
Yet aware
Presence felt
Like a piercing stare

Giving chase
At rate unknown
Cannot flee
Limbs planted
Like roots of a tree

Nothing heard
Cries won’t escape
No sound there
Voiceless calls
Like screams of air

Blind, muted
And paralysed
Gasping breath
Shocked awake
Like cheating death

Dreams shatter like glass

I
Eons since i’ve heard your name
Im trembling ...
The power to make me shudder, it has yet to relinquish
Your name’s a storm
Murmured like thunder echoed in a rainy night
Strikes me like lightning
Tingling traversing my body in a wave of torment
The smell of my singed flesh intoxicating me
The bittersweet taste of lament tiptoes across my tongue
Tears overshadowed by million plummeting droplets
shed by the clouds hovering above
The sky mourns with me tonight
Moonlight attempts to lull me to slumber
To have me waltz with dreams
on a sun kissed river
Heading nowhere
I resist, the way men resists all but desire and lust
temptation has never won over me

II
I awake under a kaleidoscopic glass ceiling
That somehow reminds me of your eyes
I’m walking on air, swimming through forests
In this dazzling world
Where ravens and crows stride through oceans
And whales fly within the untrespassed sanctity of
This rainbow tinted sky
And I find myself soaring backwards on silver-tipped wings
Made of supple, snow color clouds
Down through your ivory skin that parts open
like a silk stream
A myriad of color blinds me a moment
The parade marches on buildings flowing sideways
A psychedelic scene,
reality seems flimsy
Expanding and contracting at random
Butterflies with stunning polychromatic wings
Drink from the beautiful blue pedals
Of a serene sakura tree
Baby angels with wings of laughter
Bound up and down cheering to
The melody of  galloping seahorses
Im whistling along with trees
Flowing through your blood vessels
I regale in the wise tales of lustrous paintings
I dance with a samurai adorned in liquid armor
To the bustling beat of a frog's trumpet
A succulent aroma entices me, in an instant
Im caressed by the vines of magenta flowers
twirling , spraying their petals that seem
To change colors in the warm, singing wind
I unravel myself, and swiftly mount atop
An elegant elephant with exquisitely long, thin legs
Brazenly defying the golden bonds of gravity's kiss
Trodding upon the air itself, diligently forward
We're approaching your heart, mine beats faster
My hearts a drum and the parade is stomping along

III
I run up empty foothills
Faster than sound
I’ve left my body
Too slow
Soul speeding
Towards your essence
Wind howling
Strips my wings
Of its clouded feathers
I’m Arriving
Time slows, my existence is being sucked
Into the black hole where your heart should be
Space distorts, we’re swirling into it
The parade’s a tornado of pulsating color
I catch the twisted smile of a small angel
Grappling with the translucent samurai
Melting into each other they’re metamorphosing
Crumbling in space as time erratically fluctuates
We’re packed
into a
Singularity

IV
Suddenly i’m soaring downwards again through
Clouds and soft rays of sunlight
There below I see you
I’m falling into your lips
Upon contact I shatter like glass into
little shards reflecting turquoise tinted light
I’m awake, truly awake now
The firmness of my mattress affirms that
The humm of the flickering fluorescent light
Illuminates the dull chamber in which i reside
The wind is still howling against my window
The pitter patter of rain upon my rooftop
Paints a dissonant melody
I stare at the moon, muddled by my dripping window
I slip back into the embrace of my sheets
And let the nights sweet lullaby
Hush me back
To the dreamland
Where I can fall into you once more
