Not sure where to tell it or who to tell but please don't put any of my work on Facebook
I don't have an account and want no part of it. Or Twitter.
I am not saying I've been nominated but just in case I ever were to be. Best made clear now.

to be so reckless and anoint her
a thing of rare beauty
would be grossly improper
blasphemy
stunningly breathtaking
her virtues become one's symptoms
an effect even more asphyxiating
if one was exposed to her lethal gaze
to pass such deadliness in the street
would inspire one to conjure magic
only to pluck flowers from thin air
offer her a valentine and lose my good name
on any blessed day of this life

First, no one's poem is going to be showcased on other social networking venues if they don't want it to be. We realize many prefer the privacy of this site by selecting the option of hiding their work from the public.
Alternatively if you do not want to be featured in the DUP Hall of Fame message me and I'll simply mark your poem a non-entry come voting time. It's no biggie. There are several I have to do that with anyway, e.g. - previous winners, etc.
Secondly, this comp is to showcase writers who wish for more exposure both on the site and through alternative forms of social networking. Our Hall of Fames showcase poems and poets which assist new members with who the site considers ( via site-wide voting ) some of the best when they're looking for poets they'd like to follow.
Lastly, it's also an opportunity to show your peers just how much you enjoyed a particular piece of poetry of theirs by nominating it for this honor. Which we can only hope are appreciated.
We're offering opportunity, not dictating mandates. You do and always will own your poems here.
Now imma dryin out on the surface and need to redive.

[ NaPo 2017 ] Figure Eights
On ice, skating
different paths intersecting
creating an endless series of figure eights
Once or twice in their gliding
coming close to colliding
on seemingly random calendar dates
Each taking time
perfecting their striding
( for it's not a race )
what rhyme and reason
left to the Fates
Placed on gurneys after journeys
resulting in others' broken legs
potential soulmates suddenly face to face
begs the question:
was it Accidental
or
was it Destiny
?

I don't care what my poems do here or elsewhere, my only gripe is facebook.
as one of the people with good sense who is part of the movement to boycott facebook
I certainly don't want my work there.
I do understand users can share it to their profile, that is different and I don't care about that.
that's all
