Is Love Overrated?
Not For Mortals...
Lo,we will try
We will even give our all,
But that will not be good enough,
Eventually we will fall
Too bad I sound like a messenger of doom
Yet my views I hold so strong
First check the characteristics of true love
Before you judge me wrong
It is not enough to profess the word
Talk is cheap we all know that to be true
Love is not just about what you say
It is an action word seen in what we do
Mothers are the epitome of true love
But only in relation to their own child
Keep them with the baby born of another
And let's see if they will be mild
If I love the person I claim to love
Because he/she meets certain criteria
Is that really unconditional love
Or is my choice based on visible materials?
Humans can forgive but cannot forget
But love should not keep records of wrong
Now show me someone truly in love
And I will show you a jealous one
Now I have brought my point to the fore
With these few features of love in display
Do you still think love is in consonance
With fallible man's imperfect ways?
However,I won't say love is overrated
That will be such a shame
We can only try but it's not for mortals
And that is why Love is God's name!

There Is No Such Thing As Love
He was there for me when my first tear fell
He wiped it away.
I wasn't sure of myself,
I wasn't sure of anything,
But I felt like giving him a chance.
I put my heart in his hands as I trusted him every step of the way.
I followed him blindly while hoping he will be my real Prince Charming,
I guess I must be a stupid fool who will always be left with a barefoot waiting alone.
There is no such thing as happy endings,
There is no such thing as perfect fairy tales,
There is no such thing as a knight in shining armor,
There is no such thing as perfect romance,
There is no such thing as love.
When you fall in love you fall hoping there will be someone there to catch you,
Well every time I fell I only fell to hit the concrete ground.
Falling down on my face like an idiot wishing if I could I would rewind time and do everything all over again, but where would the fun be in that right?.
I only wanted love,
I only wanted joy,
I only want to feel alive for a change.
So tell me what's the shame in all of that?.
Can't I be happy for once in my life?.
There is no such thing as happy endings,
There is no such thing as perfect fairy tales,
There is no such thing as a knight in shining armor,
There is no such thing as perfect romance,
There is no such thing as love.
When you told me you loved me I felt like a child on it's birthday,
I believed you loved me,
I wasn't second guessing you nor was I worried that you didn't love me.
I felt like I was for once complete.
But you didn't really feel the same way did you?.
'Cause now I pay the price for being so dumb and naïve for believing I mattered to you let alone to anyone I come across.
So now I'll keep in mind for next time that I'm incapable of feeling love.

Do you still love me
When I am not there
When I cannot hold you close to my heart
Do you still love me
Do you still love me from your heart
Can you still love me when everything is falling apart
When our backs are against the walls
No money for the rent
When all of our money is spent
Do you still love me
When everybody want something from you
Because your lifestyle reflect a lot of money
Laugh in my face and talk behind my back
But can't say to my front
I am tired of being the victim of abuse
So mistreated and use
Nobody faithful anymore
When love is gone out that door

When I am not there

What is everything and nothing
What is pain and nirvana
What is love
As an angel with demon wings walks up to you
Lay's a hand on your chest and pushes you into the abysmal bed of roses and thorns.
You may ask yourself what is love.
Is it this moment or is it the moments after?
Does it exist?
As it grips your soul tight to never let go poisons your blood and mind full of bliss and harmony.
Do you even know it's happening?
Before you smile do you realize that this everything and nothing will become everything and nothing?
And is it worth it?
For that is true love
The fact of being okay with everything and nothing at the same time
And loving it.
In order to love
You must love first
