The Little World

"None of the answers of my pious preceptors would satisfy me, and my demands that they cease taking things for granted quite upset them. Close reasoning was something new in their little world of Semitic mythology." - H. P. Lovecraft

Read to me the lesson
and I'll memorise the words,
sing to me the standard songs
and I'll recall the tune...

The stories told
time and time again
create a world
as wholly and as magically

as when the eternal hands crafted
sea, and sky, and soil.
The Book is a door
and the Word is a candle

lighting the dark room beyond.
When I am close to Thee,
then I am close to a place
where light charges the bones.

So read to me the lesson
and I'll memorise the words,
sing to me the standard songs
and I'll recall the tune...

Take Courage in OZ ~

You have a brain
bespectacled girl.
You have a heart
as the tears flow.

You are on the road
even though
the yellow bricks
are all  faded and
cracked

You are on the road.

Take courage
as the forest for the
trees
grow up and around,

Dark arms reaching,
menacing.

Its all they are,
menacing arms

Its all they ever are.

Take courage in the night
for the moon lights
your path.

The lions, tigers and bears
are friends

For who could resist your charms.
Oh my!

Who could indeed?
And if they did.
Well what kind of friend
would they ever truly
be.

Take courage  in Oz
for you walk the same land
as them.

you idolise me today but soon enough you'll grow tired of kneeling

i

the empire of temptation
defied gravity

planets aligned
strung by locks of burgundy
asteroids plunged from her shoulders

pleiades eyes
shot like comets through defences
the core of my force field agape
holes spluttered butterflies
spawned from cosmic clouds

ii

i lay beneath her
transfixed by the depth of majesty
her galactic reign over night

i did not fall
i did not grow weary till daybreak
shielded by the blood of dawn
we faded into light and dreamt of taurus

gravity could not stop
the empire of temptation

Dear Satan

I’m going to write love
all over your heart,
and then I’m going to eat you.

cold again

bad conversation
vomit in the sink
a long nap
a good slap on the cunt

so now you know who I are

you know I don't care at all
your hands always know where to press
down

those times i see you lose yourself
in the pure pain of it
you dribble no lies in my ear
you don't understand why i can't

i can't be more like you

Encapsulating Rain

Sometimes when it rains
I can almost smell the scent of you
Still on my skin
I can feel the soil beneath my feet
As my knees began to buckle
Faint remnants of tingly lips
-Post kiss

I can remember the way you tasted
I can recall that dead end path
And how we held no hesitation
-Just each other

I let the water run down me
My mind wanders to retrace
Where your fingers once laced
The pull of the past
-Igniting
-Inviting

Skin on Skin
We laid bare to the elements
And wrote our first love's origin
With our tongues and fingertips
We signed the pages
-Before the wear and tear of ages

Like a silent film
-For my eyes only
Flashbacks retract to me
Like an elastic band
The slow, steady flow of curious hands
Roaming newfound foreign lands

The thunder...
The rain...
The smell of your sweet sweat...
The soil crumbling beneath us...
The enticing invitation
Of your muffled moans...
The sounds of buttons and buckles
-Hastily removed...
The plunging of your pulsing body
-Quenching our thirsting youth...
The soft, warm velvet of your mouth
-As you took me in...
The rapid momentum of baited breaths...
And that euphoric release
Under the whistling trees...

I let you enter me:
My naïve heart
My intoxicated mind
My yearning body
My youth
My use

Through a humid daze
I revisit your embrace
Even if only for a moment:
I was yours
And you were mine
-And we knew the rain by name
