F*ck Hate

poet Anonymous

Fuck Hate
Fuck it right in the ass
Leave it a ragged spider web
sphincter of shattered glass
Jagged hole swallowing you whole
as you cram in your battering ram of
Love

MAGIC

Each day my illness' brings me pain,
On ev'ry nerve it seems to rain.
The coping of my riddled brain
Has learned to help me not complain.

I don't say 'woe is me' to self.
I turn my nose up at the wealth
That others want more than their health,
To leave their kindness on a shelf.

But me, I'm writing poetry,
Embracing thrills' discovery.
I dream to be a fantasy
From out of shell, yes!, to be free.

I think myself as light as air,
A gentle sprite that's hardly there
With sprigs of honeycomb to wear,
And flower blossoms in my hair.

From forest top is where I see
Winged things above the canopy,
To join in flight I wish to be
And laugh among the birds & trees.

For this is where the mischief sway
Is spread with mirth in which I play,
A riot's life of ev'ry day
My barefoot jig among the fray.

The forest creatures dance and race
With wonderment upon each face.
'Tis I that has them feel the grace
My magic touching every trace.

This is my happiness profound
As ev'ry chorus' cheerful sound,
All rising up and would surround
My hidden place, my kingdom found.

I only hope that someday soon,
Across the face of earth a boon
Will see for all to be in tune,
To love
not hate from magic's swoon.

Good Morning, California time, to one and all -  I need to thank all of you for your wonderful entries - I feel that it was a great success having such thoughtful and thought provoking entries -

but here are the ones I thought came closest to my three criteria  - my second runner up is LONDON_POETS for his song "The Subject of Your Hate", my first runner up is Jade Pandora - jade tiger - for her poem "Who" and the trophy goes to Grace for her very personal "I hate Hate"

To all who gave the words from your heart to dispel Hate's power - as your host and fellow poet - I am deeply grateful...

Thank you Geoff for according me the trophy. I am honoured and humbled that my simple poem was adjudged the winner. I am proud to be named with the  runners up, talented writers, Billy Snagg (LONDON-POETS) and jade tiger (Jade-Pandora). Thank you.

"Awww, thank you Geoff for the mention here. This was indeed good subject matter for you to host, considering all the hate that seems to be floating around at the moment. Hope floats our boat for a kinder future, I guess."

To the other poets who faired well in this great competition, well done. Special thanks also to Grace for her kind words. Well done you, soon to be in that '100 club' I am sure. Also, well done to Jade for another quality write which made the podium once again.

Kind regards, Billy.

Apologies for my late response:

My thanks to host Geoff for making the opportunities possible in this competition that gave us a much-needed break from all the hatred that's been posted all around us.  And I wish to congratulate my Zodiac sister, Grace, for her winning the cup!  --Jade

Hello all, once again, I want to apologize for my terseness in the ending of the competition yesterday.  But real life was calling and I wanted to let you know the results.

First let me thank all who thought to make entries – Jade Pandora – whose poems both started and closed out the competition, Grace, LanaW, ricky_smith_1990, calamitygin, chump, David_Macleod, Taurek, MsRockyJackson, wallyroo92, mel44, JohnnyBlaze, LONDON-POETS…  I deeply appreciate your time and words… all were worthy of consideration…

As to the podium –
To LONDON-POETS – your approach to the theme, how your thoughts advanced, and that you took the time to write a song were impressive.

To Jade Pandora – both of your entries are the epitome of well crafted, well written poetry  As for "Who," the circle you presented the reader of beginning and ending on our home on this small blue ball in the serenity of space, and then taking us through the nature and causes of social hatreds and their pitting us all against each other was extremely well handled.

Which made my decision exceptionally difficult.

To Grace – you gave us a different picture.  You showed us a legitimate reason to hate. To hate the brutalization of this child by the one charged with her protection. And yet, like so many of those who chose paths of non-hatred - from the Buddha to M.L.K, found a way to forgive and embrace and finally give up on hate… Thank you.

Thank all three of you for sharing your words with us…
