ONE MORE HUG

Juliet and Violet
My beauties
Without you
My arms are empty

My sweet little girls
You are my reason
For breathing
I miss you so much
I hate myself
For putting our love
In such jeopardy

Please forgive me

I pray that before I die
I can hold you once more again
If I can’t, know that I will
Always love you
Till the very end

Note; Till just a couple of months ago, I helped raise my sibling's two daughters, now 5 and 8.  Regrettably, I became angry with said sibling after I found they had taken (without my consent) a thousand dollars from me.  If I had known that my anger would result in the children being kept from me, I never would have said a word.  I’d easily pay twice the amount just to hold my girls again.

Since, my nieces were taken from me, I’ve learned that I’m not the only person who’s been a caregiver to a child that has ended up being blackmailed by the parents for money.  It is a common scenario that many grandparents face, and under the current law, there is little that can be done about it.

If I could scream, I would
My voice has been dulled
I am a mute in a crowd
My own silence bleeds in until I am deaf

If I could shout, I would
Take a chance to feel important
Instead I slowly blend in
Until I am nothing more than a shadow

If I could utter a sentence
If I could pull a word
Never again would I sink into the life
Of a writer that says nothing

You lay on your death bed
breathed your last the next day
and i really wished id had the courage
to call the pastor you'd asked for

Afterlife

My uncle Henry's funeral
Was on a Sunday afternoon,

Of deepen’d sky's updrafting clouds
With everybody standing 'round

A casket of mahogany
That glisten’d in a patchwork light.

I kept my eyes upon the sight
Till lowered deep into our fate.

He was her third, he always felt
Responsible, his mother's death.

An awful punishment & weight
To think he'd taken her away.

And in his lifetime never knew
The three days that she held him to,

To nurse him, and then sank to earth
So soon after she'd given birth.

I reached out for my hand to place
On edge of polished coffin's face,

And leaning forward, softest call:
"Your mother will explain it all."

My mind a blank the long trip home,
And when I could, I sat alone

Recalling all the jokes and pranks
The fam’ly told of Uncle Hank's

We celebrated at his wake,
The memories we shared with cake.

But now in kitchen where I kept
A silent vigil as I wept

While dialing, calling up his voice,
His message I'd repeat by choice.

To hear him from the afterlife
In hopes to listen one last time,

To quell my grief. No more was said
When service to the line went dead.

Dead Pillow Talk

I loved you enough
to dig up your grave
For you were the best
of love's sweet lies
my savior
in a stolen heartbeat of time

But look at you now
dirty despair caked in your smile
hair all mussed
and a purple worm in your eye
the ache of death
staining your favorite gown
and some new perfume
I  hardly care  to recognize

See
I brought wine
thought we might reminisce
mull our foolishness
of dreams gone by
relight the memory fires
kiss the ghost of your soft lips
watch this moonlight paint the sky

I know you always cherished
your precious little boy
and how we'd wake up dancing
each twirl around the heart
a dizzy
breathless
sigh

But I didn't come to dance
and you'd kill me for a lie
so if I promise to be quick
and 'cause I'm certain you wont mind
Just once
for old time's sake
I'm gonna steal your panties
and then jump you from behind

One more time

Sometimes it seems that I can't take it longer
One thought of a touch makes shiver stronger
Sending a wave of desire one more time
To touch you again before saying goodbye

Just to hug bringing to myself closer
Rest my head on your shoulder forcing
To embrace your flavor so familiar deeper
Happiness inside, to stop hear weeping

To let my lips quench thirst again
To reach you lips and drink away the pain
To melt in the kiss, to lose myself in time
To go back where being with you wasn't a crime

To find your eyes and look into them
To surrender to your captivity and then
To escape all the world around that stares
Only you to see and go there...

When I Wake

When I awake you're still there
standing next to my lonely bed
the same place when I reclined
when sleep was my redoubt
yet now I must leave that land
to face the one that haunts my life
I ask you ghost of romance lost
will you ever leave my mind?

Lopsided would describe our words
your voice is mute because I supply
the sounds that fill the empty void
when you're a phantom in my head
I can feel your skin beneath my hands
fingertips trace the curves below
garments meant to be removed
already gone since they're not real.

Desire has summoned you here today
sprung from a love that's betrayed
when one has fallen and the other not
balance gone between you and me
in fairness the ghost is mine to own
only known to my fevered mind
as false as the passions soiled
on stoney ground my hunger falls.

Now you stand next to my side
daily revenant of misplaced love
a grip around my heart is too strong
I ask you to leave and you're still here
unrequited is the saddest state
another day has passed confused
I'll lay my head now to sleep
please be gone when next I wake.

To pray with all my might knowing my gut was right about the wrongs that was being done to you.

One More Time...

I want to hold you in my arms,
One more time.
But realise this one more time,
May never come.
I'd probably hold you for eternity,
If you let me back into your heart again.

Just to feel the warmth of your body,
One last time.
To feel that you were mine, is that a crime?
So, put on your sexy towel robe again,
One more time,
And let my hands slip in behind,
You know where they want to go...
Below, lower, lower.

Let me kiss you deeply once more.
I want to hear those sighs of passion,
Eagerness and satisfaction!

As I look into your eyes again,
Smile back at me one more time,
For you know what you do to me.

One more time, will it ever be enough?
I need more time,
More time than the world can give,
To make you mine...

Maybe, this one last time.
