Poetry Contest Description
The 2nd time I've run this type of competition and the last one was fantastically done so here's round two! The premise is very simple. The name of the game is that there are no rules, there is no theme, no structure - anything goes! EXCEPT ONE CATCH
All the poems must at some point work into their piece FOUR out of the following FIVE words. So, you do get one "get out of jail free card". You do not have to use all five of the words - you can ditch one. It will be interesting to see which one people choose to ditch. The words are:
WHOLESOME (adjective)
SCORPION (noun)
JEALOUSLY (adverb)
EVOLVING (verb)
BITTERSWEET (compound)
Minor variations on the words are allowed like EVOLVING can be EVOLVED, curdled etc. and pluralising is fine so SCORPION can be SCORPIONS etc. See what you can come up with...

SIX SHOOTER
In hell I see jealousy
filling a wholesome hole
with a finger or scorpion stinger
A mere felony and loss of my soul
in the blasphamy of a dark metal singer
dissolving deception of perception
six-shooters revolving and resolving
and evolving into bittersweet perfection---
I don't follow the herds-
and I don't ditch any words---
In hell I see jealousy

jealously i watch you dance from temporary girl to temporary girl
they are wholesome, and perfect, and gone in a week but i guess that's what you want
and i want to offer you forever but i know, your forever is different to mine
when i admitted to you, the things i never thought i would say out loud
you didn't react like i thought, but i guess you didn't really react at all, did you
your tongue a scorpion's tail, your silence stung more than words ever could
i have felt myself evolving over the months- over the years -since i met you
from the awestruck wide eyes of a young teenager infatuated
to the resigned tired eyes of someone who is sick of being in love
and trust me, i know i should wait for someone who would offer me always
but i also know, i would smile while i turn myself from a forever soul into a temporary girl
if it meant i could spend one short bittersweet week pretending you mean it when you say you love me

Coughing up aspirations
Onto a silver platter of my own deprecation
And it's evolving into something bittersweet
I approach nostalgia so jealously
Because the wholesome taste of my depression
Wasn't enough to cover my mental digression
And so I digress nonetheless,
Because people don't appreciate words coming from nothingness

RISING OF THE SCORPION
The wholesome girl was quickly dissolving
Horror to see such a sweet girl evolving
From beauty to ashes
Amongst everyone she clashes
From bittersweet sarcasms to writing hate letters
Reminiscing jealously things forgotten for the better..
Such beauty going to waste
In a quick second haste
Behold! Be warned! The Scorpion has risen!

Shadow's Glare
I can live too long in the norm
the rules pressing on every side
the wholesome forms hide the sky
so I call out to the one beyond
bittersweet to proles
gateway to the outer realms
you are the muse of rebel heart
sweep the cobwebs from my life.
I look for the Morning Star
agent of life's other side
salvation found at leading edge
beware the trap of loftiness
the primal is pride's suitor
a fall would the consequence
if I evolve only with my heart
leave the soul no recompense.
Temptation is not my sole desire
I do want to take the cost
I look instead to the spark
inspiration to take me far
I seek to walk the line
step outside of other's walls
the rules still ask for their share
when I seek the shadow's glare.
Not to be thrust from righteous sight
fall away from the shared brilliance
jealous to see life in another way
through the eyes of the Jinn
I seek the middle way
made of clay by God above
neither the fire nor the fall
the best I can do on this earth.

Strikes like lightening
Deadly like the scorpions sting
Sometimes wholesome and sweet
Others dark and possessive downright maddening
Passions burn bright

Can be oh so bittersweet
Beware my friend of the green eyed monster better known as jealousy
It will consume and devour
Bringing this dream to an end
