Classic Album
"Infinity" came in '78
when Steve Perry joined
and made Journey, great.
Gregg Rolie on keys,
Ainsley on drums--
all the girl' hearts went rum-a-tum-tum.
But who would've thought
that the band wouldn't last;
(Neal had a big, giant branch up his ass...)
For even though Steve had the best hair of all,
he left with his voice
for the soloist-call,
and poor Neal & Co.,
were left in the dust,
and no singer they tried, came near enough
to the marketability of Steve's vocal highs,
now "Infinity's" turned
with the Wheel In The Sky.

death
death is the cold blanket of change
yet the cycle roles round age to age
heartless artless loveless drone
sings into a microphone
while the passage time
bubbles and chimes
your mark is a handful of sand
in a multidimensional
wonderland

beyond the reach of reality
here space & time lay flat
& dimensions of imagination
play like waves
on the edge of sanity
where laughs rain warm
& your smile lights up
like paper lanterns
on my soul

LINE
The page begins blank
A pencil is poised
The writer has decided
The pencil makes contact
A mark is made
It's static at first
So the pencil moves
The mark moves alongside
It begins to curve
Starting like a circle
But not fully round
Goes on a tangent
Creates a diagonal line
Then curves once again
This time not clockwise
An almost circle forms
But as you expect
The pencil moves forward
The mark follows too
Aiming for the start
The very first mark
It courses so directly
It meets with aplomb
It clicks into place
The shape is done
The pencil keeps moving
The mark curves again
It deviates its path
Just like last time
So it doesn't deviate
It follows the line
The line made earlier
Curving and joining up
Over and over again
The pencil is trapped
To leave, to remain
Round and round again
And again and again
Curving and joining up
Over and over again
Round and round again
And again and again
Over and over again
Round and round again
Over and over again
Round and round again
And again and again
Over and over again
Round and round again
And again and again
Over and over again
Round and round again
Over and over again

Egging On
We were broke open, taut to this earth.
Dusted off by timeless stars.
Those who bore witness to sprawling space, winking with knowledge and burning bright till their fall fed all encompassed.
Puncture wounds bleed like leeches sucking unknown poisons from within galaxies, traveling on to pathways beyond celestial gardens.
Where infinite sprawls with outstretched arms to form unknown.
Eggs keep cracking filling up the basket.
O Mother carry me gently, I remember the dinosaur and I pay homage to every dream the stars have made.
I wipe my eyes when they blur,
sense the clarity for a minute as I watch the fog roll back in.
Momma I feel the wheel...
have I been contribute?
Does forever exist by the alms of my passage?
Or am I stain without purposed experience?
I am stardust...aren't I?
One life's infinite Question
When the eggs all roll away will the creations of other mothers give infinite?
Remember me when I leave.
Pass on your knowledge before you go.
Your children have cried loudly.
Their waves carried through space.
Timbre to the tale.
How they are spat out to the other side, we'll never know.
I hope they dance on infinite.
