Age’s Grace
We’ve both walked with some grace
living beneath high firmament
the sun and move walked their paths
tracing lines as they marched
Kronos asks for his due
though each would seem to touched
with unequal yoke by wheel’s turn
ask they years what they have borne.
Decade’s half marked your ascent
five years long yet so short
from periled childhood to the stoop
of adulthood you’ll soon embark
into our midst to make your mark
taking lessons to then progress
what’s come before will inform
the way you will shape the world.
The same years were a beat
echoing same again and again
to this one long crossed that line
listening to a lifetime’s pulse
a metronome that droned along
what I’ve done is now outpaced
by time’s repeating drum
asking only for more of the same.
Against this frame time is skewed
fresh with purpose for one of two
the other sees the span and asks
what it means to walk the planes
when half their age does surpass
less than that of comrade’s life
and what of years yet to come
will grace ask the same of both?

The Whirlpool of Life
How do we fill in the gap between being born and dying?
With sleeping and talking and thinking and walking and shopping and driving and flying;
With meeting friends, making amends, trying to put things right,
Wishing we'd done things differently in the middle of the night.
Some of us kill, some of us swill, some of us cheat on our wives,
Some of us nurture our children, some of us ruin their lives.
Some fill the gap with boredom, lumbering from bed to settee,
Wasting life's precious allotment gorging on daytime TV;
Others are obsessively active, never a moment to spare -
Running committees and holding collections and badgering those who don't care.
Some of us squander, some of us ponder, most of us bumble along,
Going to work, paying the bills, hoping it won't all go wrong.
And what did it bring us, we wonder, as decline turns into fall:
Surprise, awareness, knowledge, fun, and love, ah yes, love, most of all.

Life
is not an existance
is not just breathing
is not just being
Life
is living
in pain
in bliss
in love
in missery
in indulgence
in scarcity
Life
is affecting
mattering
convicting
Life
is expressing
is moving
is feeling
is minding
Life
is a commitment
and a choice
Life
is timeless
and immortal
until forgotten
Life
Yours
make them remember
and you may live forever

An Existence
living, not merely existing
life to savour vibrant colours
of creation in all its glory
the tapestry woven by Gaia
living, is not mere breathing
but inhaling aromas
of the earth
freshness of each new day
living, is touching hearts
leaving imprints
carving lasting memories
on all you meet
life and living
highway towards the end
each sights a joy
each touch a celebration.

I woke up in the back
of a burned out vw micro bus
half empty bottle of scotch in my hand
& you lying curled up
against my chest
the morning light on your naked skin
was more beautiful than any sunrise
& for one brief moment
I was content in this life
but the lessons of the streets
remind me to never get too close
to anything or anyone
so tomorrow I will be waking up
with someone else
thinking of you
till the memory fades

Through Life, Not Around
I cannot back trace and go back
To the past anymore. Life does not
Move that way. Everything gets off track
And unfocused. The happiness you sought
Is what you make out of it. Life goes
Forward not backwards. The sadness got
In the way. The tears water and grows
The flowers in the garden. Do not ruin
On them on your way out. The door shows
The way through, not around. The illusion
Is playing tricks on you, thinking that the only
Way to get through life is being superhuman
And going downhill. Never get too lonely.
You will find both someone and
Something to make you feel more homely.

To the past anymore. Life does not
Move that way. Everything gets off track
And unfocused. The happiness you sought
Is what you make out of it. Life goes

Cerulean Reflections (Soliloquy)
O' soul, how could twilight's dawn appease
which vision will lend me liberty
a mere reflection that I am
falling in steps to dance of death
my ink's magic stands askance
besets my own inequity
wrap me in silence against threshold
beseeched spliced by lightning bolt
my reasoning will grow in hands of cold.
O' noble one, the earth shall cry
seared upon my deepest core
crimson tears beyond my reach
innocence rebirth in fortress of fear
seduced and nestled in sweet delusion
truth smiles as it leaves me weak
Tis beauty, thy creation
such purity I ne'er knew, thusly
imitations value none thy own.

Angry Plead
WHY ME!
I screamed at the sky
Shaking my fist in anger and disgust
What have I done to deserve this hell?
Did I offend you in my last life?
I can't seem to get anywhere
Everything I try, I fail
I'm tired of stumbling through life
Ambling, without direction
Wondering where I'm supposed to be
Half dead from the neck up
Help me make the right decisions
What am I not seeing?
Help me find this road that eludes me
I am floundering in my life
The only thing that I can do correctly is fuck up
I know that I am destined for something better
I feel it in my bones
My fervor for a better existence is within me
In my heart and soul
GROWING...
PUSHING...me to run!
I just can't find my way in this darkness
Light my way and I vow
I won't forget your empathy
Help me fill these sails with pride and
Sail to my destiny
Whatever it may be

Ostentatious
Painstaking
A paltry panacea
Meteors are evanescent....
The enigma of being lost
like Hitler committing enormity
--------An unremitting battle-----
The trepidation of the opponents
Being on the verge to disply courage
The fact may remain the same
Though and although
History repeats itself...
Minds are replete
Fearing reprisals from the terrorists,
His manners were reprehensible
Uncle Ted was resolute.....
