don't tell me what to write about

skulk is one of my favorite words
in fact, i'm a page and a half
into a novel titled the skulking adults
that i'll probably never finish
but i guess skulk means
to hide in the shadows
with evil intentions
and i think that's a metaphor
for nature in general
foxes are creatures i never think about
a fox to me is some hot chick,
a buxom blue-eyed blonde
straight outta three's company
but the actual fox is a cunning, guile creature
at least i think
they kind of just hop around
in the snow, right?
and they're kind of an orangey color?
whatever, what i'm trying to say,
is this foxy redhead sucked me off
as i was en route to murder her father
who someone paid me for
what happened?
well, right before i killed him,
i said, well, your daughter just sucked me off
but before he could respond,
he was dead
and i just kind of skulked away,
thinking about what he was gonna say
because his lips were moving just before...

~A watch of nightingales~

A Bird Smiled At Me

Ebony skies grew
Spiraling eternity
Encircling forever
For every soul
Birthing new breath
Born of forthcoming death

In my ponder I sat and sulked
I wondered and I walked
To no soul did I talk
The sky fell slowly
In small bits and piece
I would peer in every crease
Explore it, ask it if it knew
A way to feel brand new
Going through my little hell
I saw a droplet of waning light
It was a watchful of nightingale.

RENGA: the watch

1
ev'n's foggy eye
soft silk rustle calms
her breath, my air

2
embrace
the cherry trees' bare limbs
alight like soft snow

3
her music
songs in lovers' woos
sounding deep

4
winter night
heat steams the cold
streams, distant mists

5
their tunes
call to the cherry spring
nightingale moon

First Impression - Proud To Be
(14. An Ostentation Of Peacocks)

©<All Rights Reserved

Like a house so large
Old, regal and proud
So majestic it stands
For all passerbys to admire
But inside, cobwebs all around
Tidy, yet dust under the carpet rugs
Everyday is open-house
Even on an empty pantry

Like a fly atop the forehead of a bull
Their eyes could see far afar
Far wide and look down below
Even those which are bigger than them
Is treated like they were beneath them
Such gaudiness, they felt all believed them
Everyday is harvest time
Even when it's fall and leaves are gone

Like the mannequin on display
Wearing the best of the season's stock
Their demeanor never wavers
Attracting buyers and window shoppers
Supermodel poise, cold bitch haut
No matter how naked or a close shop sign
Everyday is Christmas Day
Even on their funerals

Papa Do Preach
(A Pandemonium of Parrots)

©All Rights Reserved

Words,
Spoken by decendants of Malice and Ignoramus
Are serial killers on the loose
Beware!

Mercy,
Is persona non grata in the family
They spare no one, not even the All Mighty
Blasphemous!

Fertile,
Look how fast they can multiply
A pair becomes tens of thousands in no time
Pullutants!

Sharp shooters
Story tellers
News casters
Lawyers
Lawmakers
Gossipmongers
Spell casters
Opera Singers
Among others
Including you
Perhaps?

Imagine,
Such accomplished fellas
They make you want to believe
And be taken as adoptive sibling
To repeat after them
To be just like them
To be them

When both of you
Stood on the same side
Singing the same chorus
Over and over, again and again...
Legends become history
...and one deed becomes one too many.
One word becomes a story
...and one reputation on its way to ruin.
One life soon to be no more
...and you'll eat each other soon
Like cannibals basking in gluttony.

1.  A charm of finches

(Not an entry)

CHARM

A charm of finches that I hear
Of rapid wings and swirling air,
Their voices raised as they come near
Like waltzing diamond facets' tear.

But then it comes, reality
The flashing lights of law enforce
Instead of feathers stroking me,
A time when sane & sense divorce.

I seek to hide while still I look
In yearning gaze to listen for
The 'jay, the finch or friendly rook,
I long to see them flying o're.

He'd do bout anythang to take this gal in
SUCK IT SUCKA!
You ain neva eva gonna catch the great and fabulous CALAMITY GIN!

They call me Queen of the bad ass chick outlaws
Cuz I spit like a boy and once smoked a Camel
And I'd  fearlessly fly the one legged bird
in all your ugly faces

I also fly my colors proud!
Showing my allegiance to the lady Flamingos
The mean and lean ol' ladies of the notoriously ruthlesss Pink aces

Oh HOLY M O L Y!  LOOK OUT SWEET BESS
My lawdy they've laid a hellish trap !
They have pulled up the bridge you're about to cross down at Sawyers Gap!
Follow my lead, we pick up speed
Hold on we're about to .  ....
Juuuhhhh uuuhh uuuuummm p p p!!
Bess you hurt?
Answer me!!!
My gawd, stop bawlin, it's a lil ol lump...

How can you not love being alive right now!
Bess we caught 6 feet of air....
And you're still whining cuz you might jes look funny with that lump
unda a gob of stinkin hair $!?

Good golly woggers...
These sissy girls
They all act plum lazy!
If they aren't gripin bout the goll durn dirt
They are acting all goofy bout some boy
It bugs me batty though that when I see
Bess chasing Teddy
My tummy aches an I want to be near her or cry....
You think I might be going crazy?

Death Does Fly

What draws thee nigh?
Fighter of light
The ebony shadow-creature
Of graceful flight

Decay and rot lay
Festering in death
And thus birthing a crow
It's black and filthy
You surely must know

Death does fly
Black as night
Wretched, feathered
Holding evil together

For me
There is none
I'd rather meet
As evening softly
Goes
Than a murder
Of "Evil" crows.

Buttercup.

Yellow dainty buttercup
Captures  a single drop of dew
Providing a welcoming first morning drink
For ladybug
And busy tiny shrew.

6. A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

flutters of beauty
hovering over dewy flowers
dawn seen with sparkling hues
welcome them, the floating colours

little ballerinas
wings of little fairies
friends of nimble elves
dragonflies hover, guarding them

harbinger of visitors
to homes
when flutterby drops by
and rests on your window sill

for all butterflies
the one much loved
is Rajah Brooke butterfly
commemorating the White Rajah

his star shone once
among the tribes of Borneo
faded now, even as his butterflies
flutter around like a lingering memory.
