Poetry Contest

Write a NEW poem about one of the pictured tarot cards
I've always found the pictures on Tarot cards rather beautiful. These cards are from my own deck (for anybody interested, this is The Druidcraft Tarot produced by Phillip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm.)

I would like you to choose one of the following cards and write a new poem inspired by the picture on the card.

(poem for "The Moon")

Mother Moon

The standing stones are the doors
wide enough for one to pass
beneath the eye of moon’s crescent
the journey inward has begun
from the edge of tarn’s egress
beyond those who seek to feed
I’ll find the strength to plunge within
open the way to the twelfth gate

Sister crayfish hold my hand
you the kin of orb above
lend me strength to take the steps
beyond the stagnant in which I dwell
bound by ego that seeks to stay
in the pools by land’s fair edge
you point the way that I may take
from the mud of bottom’s depths.

Duality meets me on the trail
asking me to choose within
the one to lick the owner’s hand
or other to bite the weaker man
both are honored for their place
their strength derives from how they feed
I’ll seek to balance my tools within
the mind’s mild nature against the wild.

The path is dim under my feet
illumination comes from my dreams
intuition reflects the world
as sun to moon instructs my eyes
passing through the veil of the realms
into a mirrored congress of worlds
the distance is illusion’s game
as I step to touch the tower’s base.

Here I see in black and white
columns from the temple’s mount
cast to ask what I’ll embrace
the dark and light of power’s face
again I see the give fair due
to powers beyond my latitude
embracing both in their due time
finding middle as my fair path.

Through the door I journey forth
perhaps the fool to make this quest
into unknowns beyond this globe
higher spheres are where I walk
Mother Moon accept your child
take me to your breast so I may see
the wisdom of sight within
the gift of my unconsciousness.

Saturn
♋️the Lovers♋️

He'd observed her since late Autumn,
Wanting to bide his earthly time,
Until the skies mixed their pallet
With the pastels of a Spring rhyme.

Banking off the rings of Saturn,
She came to him in Winter's cold
When the air made his blue eyes turn,
The taste of her would make him bold.

She laid on his snow-covered soil
As naked as the leafless trees.
And as their joined bodies would coil,
Their flame made horizons unfreeze.

Unlike the lethargy of Summer,
When the ripples of mirage heat
Make it impossible to think
While drunk on the sweat off a peach.

Of her, finds himself wishing for
A fifth season, could it exist?
A timelessness of perfect storm,
For she whom he cannot resist.

And won't want to for all his will,
The numbing of body & mind.
But doesn't notice Winter's chill,
He'll keep her from Spring's thaw to find.

A Hermit by ocean guides
a Wolf by his side
with his lantern light
come ye now across the beach?
come ye now across the sea?

A Hermit by ocean guides
a Wolf by his side
with his lantern light
guidance to your life and time
guides across sea and by moon

Howling of the Wolves
pays homage to distant moon
are we able to
see ourselves, despite our own
deceptions, misconceptions

Esther
(Inspired by "The Lady" card)

Plant a seed and watch it grow,
the Maiden has begun to show
the fruits of harvest, unto fall
where the Lord’s grace touched us all.

Bind the bouquets—wheats and chaff,
escape the noose of Haman’s hand,
for in the cloths of golds and greens,
Esther came, the Jewish Queen.

Who can find the one so fair,
with girded strength against the snare,
that takes the spindle to the wool
when the flaxen moon is full?

It is she, of praise, as virtues go,
who lays her hands upon the snow
and turns the flakes to rubied gems
that catch sun’s rays, rejoice, again.

Part One: Magdeline Priestess
(A feminists Christmas Story)

High Priestess kisses Goddess Moons iridescent fingertips
Her pale neck looks almost translucent
It glows as she arches it back severely
And proudly releases a high pitch vibrato call with tongue
It echoes an ancelestial ceremonial thanks
As had been done for a thousand generations

Goddess Moons rays lit up the great beauty
Of High Priestess and her mysterious line of female ancestors
Goddess Moon herself once walked the paths taken here
Now Danced moonlight across lux ripples
of the Holy Priestess lengths of tresses
Giving her a pale blue halo that set up top glorious and gleaming indigo sheen

High Priestess wears a golden amulet
Cherishing it as her talisman heart
The divine Trinity of the High Priestess's people
Was delicately carve into it with a masters dig
It captured the lovely face of her sacred Goddess Moon
In her royal seat amongst the shining  heavens
Her Mother represented by Gold in her throne Horizon
And by a horizontal line just under Goddess Moon that carried her
The chest of the Priestess the Talisman rested on
Caged a heart that beat the song of the holy spirit
Now held tight with awesome faith
And spread across this mossy green Earth

Goddess Moon watches smiling as High Priestess sings
The striking beauty deep in trantic worship....

(

Goddess Moon was the first and only beloved daughter
Of their Goddess mother Sun
And had once walked the same paths

(Inspired by High Priestess...part two up soon....i understand one entry permitted; if uneligable for trophy ..understood.)

Goddess Moon was the first and only beloved daughter
Of their great and burning Goddess mother Sun
And had once walked the same sacred paths
To be the Goddess Suns voice on Earth
That boomed her omnipotent  presence  across the skies
And guided the clan through night with wonderous alliainment

Goddess Moon was born a midsummer miracle birth
Her Earthly name Litha still is still remembered
The physical embodiment of the Goddess Suns love
She walked with beauty and gracefully moved a tortured people
With acts of kindness and words that healed

With the calming leaders smile their light
The people rose unified againts perilous evils
And for the first time heard their lowly voices rise
The harmony of the song they sang still heard today
Through the still calmimg effects of Goddess Moons moonlight

Now here the High Priestess sings Goddess Moons birth
Her hands rise in worship and dark eyes veil
To sheild High Priestess from the powerful Ultra Violet
Given to them as cataclysmic weapon if ever needed
Should Evil ever circumvent their song of love

Her choir of beautiful celestial bodies
Begin a dance with tongue and sultry flesh
Touching and filling one another with warming pleasure
Nipples harden and men become erect
The Women writhe and twist to display their desires
The Men answer with mouths hungry to ease their aches
They lick and suckle and dig deep with abandon
Until angelic seed fills empty womb
And they breed hope for High Preistess's people

**IX - The Hermit

Abused darkness

Rocks that never been trampled
although rain and sun
leaned on them,
my flesh is lonely
my soul a rock
illuminating darkness
that has been abused.

And you, wolf,
my imaginary friend,
roaring inside my subconscious
for my eyes to be awaken,
scared, as if magic,
watery, as if words,
deserted finery, hanged forgiveness
for a better tomorrow.

It's the wolves and all their glory
praising the moon and it's storied
past as the sky awakens and parts
ways with the oceans beneath it.
Make a path for me, I'm nothing
without the night's glorious light,
in spite of all I'm just a sheep in
wolf clothing standing against
two pillars screaming for the
world to understand my lonely
way of thinking. I am like the
brown beast trying to keep up
with the white master of deceit.
All love is love they say, and they
are correct, tonight I am the moon,
wide awake and open for change.
