Poetry Contest Description
tell me about good times with your kiddos
Sitting watching shows today
With my little man smiling
Only four months old
And I promise my dear
That this life I've given
Must have been sent from heaven
I've never been happier
Than I am sitting here
With mommy's little man
This comp is about how you felt with your kiddos.

Co-op or solo okay
New entries only please

In My Eyes
tiny hands
and happy giggles
snuggled in a chair
book of Seuss
before bedtime
a moment in my mind
triggered
by spontaneous hug
and words of love
as my heart
fills up with pride
baby girl
all grown up
my heart
is in my eyes
tiny hands
and happy giggles
snuggled in a chair
book of Seuss
before bedtime
a moment in my mind
triggered
by spontaneous hug
and words of love
as my heart
fills up with pride
baby girl
all grown up
my heart
is in my eyes
My Cubs
I still remember when they’d come in my room,
One barely walking, the other crawling,
The oldest one talking calling them,
Like little cubs with smiles like rays of sunshine,
It was contagious, we’d all start smiling back.
Sometimes I miss those days,
But I don’t miss changing diapers or bottles,
Bringing up boys was a different challenge,
Now we have new kinds of battles.
Puberty! The mother of all game changers,
I don’t remember being this way, but these days,
With tablets and phones, I get those tones,
The kind I wish just to get over this phase.
But it’s all worth it, even when days are bad,
Especially when the texts just say, I love you dad.
