Poetry Contest

The godfather of horror, HP Lovecraft is among my favorite authors, and his mythos has been written into history. Even to this day, you can still see Lovecraftian-themed stories, art, even memes of Cthulhu.
I want to read your most horrifying Lovecraftian works. Let me see what your eldritch minds can produce.

Rules:
- Must be Lovecraftian. If you are unsure of what I mean, read the footnote.
- Two weeks.
- One entry.
- Old writes accepted; fresh writes encouraged.
- Must be longer than 15 lines.
- If you are familiar with his work, then you know I would like you to be a descriptive as possible, capture every detail. An over-abundance of adjectives is welcomed.
- Can be about a horrific place, a supernatural being, a cosmic entity, a strange occurrence etc.

For an example of what a Lovecraftian work should look like, refer to my piece titled 'INTO THE GATE OF N'RHTEREL'MAHRET at http://deepundergroundpoetry.com/poems/249669-into-the-gate-of-nrhterelmahret/ *WARNING: EXTREME CONTENT*
Or you can just read one of his works.

*Lovecraftian horror is a subgenre of horror fiction that emphasizes the cosmic horror of the unknown (and in some cases, unknowable) more than gore or other elements of shock, though these may still be present. – Wikipedia

Cursed Dream

She told me to give her my soul and I’d indulge
In all the pleasures I could ever fathom
So I surrendered all will and control
Then she pushed me into the chasm…

In the catacombs of writhing naked bodies
Taut yet decrepit by time and misery
The stench of lust and decay aroused us
Merged with a rapture that was new to me

Maledictus, the faceless voices whispered
Echoing through the caverns of my mind
Maledictus, they repeated over and over again
Sending shivers up and down my spine

And the sounds of anguish, wails and moans
I could not distinguish from bliss or agony
The harmony of hissing kissing rotting flesh
Filled my senses with sour, bitter fervency

I trembled with terror and excitement
Just like the others who surrounded me
Shaking in delight and fright in a trance
As they danced a ritual of perpetual ecstasy

(Maledictus) I felt my insides set on fire
By an unknown sensation that caused a stir
As my fading and dreadful desire seemed to be
Invoking emotions when I spotted her

She was in a tattered crimson corset full of maggots
As I could feel a strange but familiar passion pulse
Then the unhallowed orgy around me unraveled
(Maledictus) She beckoned me to act on impulse

I walked toward her immediately without delay
Obedient to her call like a subservient slave
Expectant of the love she would bestow on me
Or the wrath of a goddess in her temple cave

Her touch felt as cold as ice and burning needles
Her eyes gazed into my spirit like a plague or flood
As she gave me a wicked smile, fangs and all
“Servus, meus es tu” she spurted out with blood

I kissed and drank from her lips and sores
Her tongue slithered down my throat
Her long sharp incisors dug deep into me
Clawing with precise incisions as I choked

I felt the sweet syrupy metallic taste
Her delectable hemorrhage in my tongue
I found it suffocating and intoxicating
As if breathing life into my infested lungs

Our lips parted like quivering ulcers
And she caressed me with arachnid fingers
Implanting herself in my memory
That the crawling on my skin still lingers

In the midst of the wicked debauchery
She seemed to take contentment in it all
As her parasites devoured one another
Like beasts feasting maniacally at a ball

(Maledictus) I felt a tingle and fell to my knees
And she looked down at me with wide eyes
Protruding then sliding out from their sockets
As all her beauty came to an abrupt demise

She kept her composure but cold demeanor
And all she did was give me a sinister smile
But I was the one who felt like a derelict
As the worms now spewed from her vile

She walked away in that tattered crimson corset
As I watched withered through the veil of my sty
She submerged herself into a pool of black tar
Without another word or saying goodbye

My Season of Empty

Each day I rise in this filth of pergatory void
I seek bright shelter in this dark fog of days
My weary mind exists in winters madness flux
My safe summer has gone permanently away

My wanderlust leads me to nowheres monster
His savage threat grips my lost travelling soul
He growls a cold harsh warning that trembles my deep
I shudder and blink round vacant wet eyes closed
My slumping shoulders now shrug furious to shake his hold

He prostrates my pneuma with swing to all original thought
His wide skeletal claw moves with marked marshal strike
Now my head be held in the white bone of his cruel hand
He extorts all creative faculty with maniacal squeeze
Now i suffer a nugatory mind as his nowhere slave
Though I was once called by the name
Ubiquitous Man

Fear

I lived a life so secure
bound by my home
a mundane existence, a mere clerk
for a gambling house

but write I must of this strange happening
nay more eerie than strange
it was enough to whiten my hair
which was once a bush of black

I woke at dawn with normal anticipation
looked out of the window and froze
for it wasn't my garden that I saw
but a swamp with sinister quality

upon its dark oily water lay
all manners of decay
the sinister air was heavy
with scents that was unmentionably putrid

From the depth of this black slime
bubbles broke to the surface
and from it horrors of horror
a hideous monstrous figure emerged

I held back a nauseating fear
for the horrible creature looked familiar
and when it called my name
I knew it was my grandfather

I cringed in fear and revulsion
for he had died long ago
screaming to God for forgiveness
in the sanatorium

for he had murdered my mother
who birthed me, thinking she
was his unfaithful wife
she was strangled with hardy twine

I screamed and jumped back from the window
and the scene just disappeared
I breathed in thankful relief
that it was a waking dream

but what of the smell...
it clung to my hair all day.

Second birth of Eve

It is useless he spits, feigning a laugh
You cannot fatten up your skeletal soul
You are but a walking corpse along this path
He then swipes the berries i foraged from my trembling hands

While you creep along my trail of longing
Of twist and swirl and never end
Of rocky ledge crumbling over the heads of men
Of eternal night that has lost it's yellow moon
You will have old fellow darkness as your only friend

You shake from cold and weary wondering
Your cowards cloak is all you may wear
You've earned it's misery by your deeds left undone
So suffer the thread bare prize for your little care

He takes a black strap out of his sack
And skillfully runs his blade against its nap
Reaches with his gnarled claw and grabs mine hair
I groan as he furiously yanks my tired head back

He cuts out my rib...leaves me in my own stink of blood
Tosses my bone to the glow of aproaching eyes
I lay watching in horror as my life seeps into the mud
The beasts howls of ravage fill the moonless skies

I watch through a helpless death soaked haze
My executioner now holds up a long lock of raven tress
Before my eyes fighting to see the last of my earthly days
He conjurs from my gnarled rib bone, Woman in her glorious flesh

Encroachment of the Seething God-Corpse

What darkness creeps,
whilst I sleep,
into my manor-house?

The seeds they carry,
on their black ferry,
are sown for fear,
and reaped for doubt.

Soon they flee into the night,
and Darkness lingers,
in the light,
and though I wake,
I cannot shake,
the fear I felt,
whilst I dwelt,
amongst those,
alien geometries,
where the old stench,
reeks through twisted cities.

Stranger aeons,
are nigh and loom,
and though we run and hide,
the sea, it reeks of age and doom,
and the Dead God entombed inside.

After much deliberation, the winner is wallyroo92! That morbid story of the eldritch... taking the form of mortality in order to be 'seen', only to reveal their horrid true form once the mind is drawn in. A classic Lovecraftian theme written in an esoteric and captivating style, with intelligent vocabulary. All entries were worthy, but this one shined just a little brighter than the others.
