Poetry Contest Description
prove this saying wrong
there's a saying there is nothing new under the sun (ecclesiastics 1:9 yes this darkened soul knows the bible)
prove this saying wrong with some real unique inking
new writes only
two weeks bring your A game and show us all something new

Contradiction (Nothing new under the Sun)
Evolution ,
It happens everyday,
Lucid dreams shows me things I shouldn't know,
In deep thought, my mind shall grow,
Epic weather, so much snow
Flooded streets and lost souls,
The end of days begin to show,...

Accordion city
If you want, put inside a bicycle
and start running upon your veins
counting how much blood you burn at each moment.
Create a path and a city
that you can compare it with the accordion.
Also, remember at least one of the stories you created
or else, there will be no rhythm
and it will be a frivolous city and without purpose.
When you imagine something with the eyes
you eliminate all that you have seen already.
You cannot play but you can say,
so say something. Whatever!
Write two images and deliver me
to the path inside the blood.
For example, you have in your mind a church
which is the faces of the people
and a vintage hammer which is their glance.
While you are talking about white rubbles
remember that it hasn’t been snowing
since the day that your socks were wet.
Why don’t you stop now for a while?
When in the city there is daylight
then the sex is masculine
and the accordion is stretched out
and with all of its keys pressed.
When in the city there is dark
then the sex is feminine
and the accordion is off
and with all of its black keys pressed.
Now that the city has a purpose
and at least one of the two sexes
for you to choose, take off the wheels
from the bicycle and throw them to the liver.
Since there is no light to turn it on
don’t look for a light,
learn to live in the dark or into the night.
The secret is, not to press all the keys at the same time
neither the white ones nor the black ones.
Only insomuch as you move the king to the corner
make sure that in this position
there was before, the last pawn
and that it was of contrasting color than you are.

*note posting a poem containing snide comments about the host of a comp. is not only not new but is highly unoriginal as it's been done to death just on this site alone*

Nothing New
Your egocentric lack of concern
seeps past the charming denials
the way you feign interest
hoping to induce guilt with innocent hints
and random observations
slyly crafted to throw me off balance
nothing ever changes
i can't love us both
and you don't deserve to come first anymore
nothing ever changes
in spite of how It hurts
nothing is new under the sun
nothing is new
but I've been transformed
I can't love us both
goodbye

JUST ANOTHER SONNET
(a sonnet)
As fingers press and float and press again
And thousand colored lights then fade to black
As ancient music plays as if within
And Prophet’s words recall as I react
A lump of coal, as I, in billions age
Both reprocessed, repurposed former things
From one cell b’ings to me “the heathens rage”
And “gentle night” all torrid movements bring
Still true desires a million synapse move
My minding eye brings her want spread for me
And draw her up in other colors prove
That loves exists and so will always be
Snow falling under sun like other, none
Now you have read a po’m I'd just begun.
Author’s Note: 6:30 – 6:45 Pacific Daylight Savings Time, June 1, 2016 typing a poem into my 8” Windows 10 tablet computer on a wireless keyboard while listening to a YouTube of J. S. Bach’s 1723 Cantata BMV 147 “ Jesus bleibet meine Freude” in German from 1989, and then thinking of my lover whose picture I pulled up on the tablet in split screen, and finished the poem – uploading it to DU via the Starbucks WiFi.

Nothing Knew
And light reacts a pulse beat
That reaches through infinty
Grasping it
Yanks it screaming back
To cough up the answer of the dawn
Sun stretches and yawns
In knowing boredom
The moons lashes hang
In half sleep
And slow
It oooooze seeps
Into humanities hard on...
Anything born after God
And under my eyelids.....
(beings ribs shake in mockery)
A Tempest that makes God weep......
And light reacts a pulse beat
That reaches through infinty
Grasping it
Yanks it screaming back
To cough up the answer of the dawn
Sun stretches and yawns

In half sleep

SHOE TREE
( 11-syllabic line count )
Back when as a freshman in my college days,
I'd often check out books of William Shakespeare,
All of his complete works, his sonnets and plays,
And go outside during breaks between classes.
I'd sit on the grass 'neath the shade of a tree
Upon campus grounds, I, deliberately,
To wistfully indulge in my newfound skill,
Enjoying the classics from my good friend Will.
But one day the weather then turned blustery
When I had set time for the sonnets aside.
Were rustling pine limbs that had once sheltered me,
Now salvo-tossed of high top white canvas shoes.
So wildly cartwheeling into the brusque air,
Were raining and pelting on me and Ol' Will,
Laid on my head,"The Taming of the Shrew" there.
Made tracks 'cross the grounds as I quickly got up,
To the lunchroom in hopes that Will eats fruit cup.
