Black Christmas

Christmas to me is like love
Its a b*tch
Ripping hearts out of chests
Paralysing all nerve endings
Servering vessels vains and arteries
Christmas is nothing but a door to door salesman
Selling you fairytale dreams
That you constantly buy
Thinking that one day
Santa would do your christmas just right
But the jolly jackal is grim reaper to me
For this holiday time
He wraps nothing but death for me
Puts bows on corpses
The miracle he brought
Was making me an orphan
Holiday glee is a f*cking myth
Like the easter bunny
Who gives us chocolates he sh*ts
I'm sorry for ruining christmas for you
But this is all my Christmases are
I lost so many loved ones around this time
Its hard to see any christmas as white
Though within my black christmas
I do see some red
But thats only because my soul
Was stabbed and on christmas morning
I bled crimson dead

Christmas Collateral Damage

I’d wake up early every Christmas Day
To tear and rip and get my presents first.
I’d run and scream and though they’d chase away,
I’d wake’em all! God Damn, I was the worst…
And then one year I was the last to rise.
Before I could, with whispered curses said.
And running here and there, a bad surprise,
My stupid cousin laying on a bed.
A bandaged leg, and angry, painful yells,
He’d shot himself, some dumb-ass lovers’ spat.
So morning came with blood not Christmas bells,
No toy recall, but I remember that.
When people ask, “remember Christmas when?”
I think of wounds the Christmas I was ten.

(No joke - that actually happened)

Ornaments.

christmas day. Jesus say: go look.
under the tree a present for me. oh shooks.
unwrapped the ribbon. spit dribbling.
what you got me Good Lord.
to my surprise. the box was empty.
the metaphor presents me.
what you trying to say? Jesus whispered:
you been naughty.

every christmas I expect gifts.
not realizing that the true gift is life itself.
every thing else is just ornaments.

Magical Christmas

Christmas was always my favorite time of year
laying under the tree
looking at the colorful twinkling lights
imagining them the stars in the sky

looking at the brightly wrapped packages
wondering what they held inside
daddy so happy he loved Christmas
was the only time I truly saw him happy

watching Rudolph
cuddled in his lap
warm fire blazing
magic in the air

praying for snow
though we lived in California
knowing with God anything was possible
believing he just may surprise us

decorating sugar cookies with my sisters
laughing, dancing to the Christmas music
are cookies were more sprinkles and frosting
then they were cookie

counting down the days until that special day
looking for Santa out my window on Christmas Eve
squirming in my bed took forever to fall asleep
afraid if I didn't Santa wouldn't come

then came the magical morning
first Mama would take us to Christmas Mass
dressed in our finest dresses
everybody rejoicing the birth of Christ

then home to open gifts
ripping into them with giggling glee
toys and new clothes
I would just stare at everything in wonder

laughing as my sister ran out of the room naked
so excited to show her new Barbie to company
blushing when we pointed it out to her
playing with my sisters in Barbie's dream house

daddy played Santa
mamma always reminded us
it was the birth of Christ we were celebrating
Christmas such a special time of year

Christmas Eve

We all stood outside
in the cold and starry night
she was only 4 years old
she clung to her sisters hand
they were bundled in their Sunday best
her little red coat buttoned
up to her neck
everyone huddled together
to keep warm

The white snow
glistened and sparkled
under the north star
shining so bright.

They all sang Christmas Carols
their breath streaming out into the cold

Suddenly, Mary and Joseph entered the stable (life size)
carrying the baby Jesus
they were surrounded by
baying sheep
a donkey
three kings
the drummer boy

everyone moved in closer to get a good look
at the beautiful baby cradled in Mary's arms

When the service was over,
we walked home.
We were keeping the donkey
for the night
It was too late to take her home.
My dad set up a place for
her to rest in our garage.

She was so excited to have the donkey as their
pet for the night.
she refused to go to bed.
she wanted to stay with her.
Her parents were not keen on the idea
and told her, "Santa won't come if you don't go to bed."
very reluctantly she did what she was told

that donkey kept them up,
kicking the walls of the garage
and heeing and hawing
all night long.

Her dad was exhausted
the next morning.
He told her this was where the phrase
"pain in the ass" comes from.

(true story)

SatansSperm said:my fondest memory of Christmas ...I was 11 yrs old.....we were POOR...we had cut down a Charlie Brown tree and decorated it as well as we could....no big hopes but it was snowing like a bitch outside so....just before time for bed a truck pulled up...it was 2 of my uncles with a real tree and gifts....it was like a miracle...we tore down the old tree and decorated the new one before the snow could even melt off of it....went to bed for like 10 yrs...till morning came and we rushed downstairs....everything was for someone younger than me so i gave it all to my little brother...I didn't care, Christmas had come...and he had the best time....years later i found out that my relatives had taken up a collection...and they didn't know my age...wasn't important...they brought me Christmas  and that was all that mattered.

Thats a beautiful story. It can actually be fleshed out into a short story. I was in the same situation as a child. We were so poor although I never realised how poor we were. My friends just had prettier dresses than us...be that as it may, I hope you make that into a poem,  and title it. Thank you for sharing.
