Judge F:

Elvis: (Inspired by a crush I had on a guy who worked with me at funeral home.)

**found this one to be easy to read
made me want to read it twice and more
well laid out and thought through

its in the top five
do I need to score? well for me its number 1

*******
Both were Willing; Neither Knew
They were neighbours and were friends
But that's not where the story ends

... this one is my number two
again well laid out
a delight to read
there was another that would have made my list but lack of caps on the I's was annoying
******
KISSES

**number 3
it's like the one i would write
delightful reading

******
Carnival of Lust

She swaggers while they give her daggers the erotic  carnival queen,
Her pretence men find intense she gives them reason to dream.
They lust for her, hear her sexy purr as she positions her feet behind her head,
Swollen breasts a couple, oh so supple, drunken yells 'bet she's good in bed!'

**not always the one with the most to say word wise wins  but this one for me sits nicely at number four for content
oh she's good at this indeed (number 4)

******
UNHINGED

**number five is most definitely alive hehe
this girly knows a write when erotica's in town
very good

**now these are just my guidlines  im rather lame at commenting on other people work but enjoyed reading all the entries
i could well have swapped them around and added more they were all quite good

Tallies:

First place: Toniscales "The Book of Jasmine" (35) - Second place: Minerva "Feeding" (34) - Idryad "Hardway" (27)

Noteworthy (receiving multiple votes): Tristique "raging lust" (25) - Toniscales "Elvis" (25) - Lena-underneath "Unhinged" (21) -
PoetryMan "Beneath the Rainbow" (18)

Note from the host: While I did not vote, my choices in no particular order: Hardway - Feeding - Unhinged - Carnival - Book of Jasmine

To the judges: Rose (Lookawaynow) - Miss Chiyo - MuseoftheFountain - JazzManor - DiscipleofLife (Fenom) - HHMCameron ... YOU ALL ARE INCREDIBLE!!!  Thank you for making this as balanced and interesting a writing challenge as possible with your thoughts and insights!

To ALL the writers: Thank you for participating and lending your erotic thoughts and voices to this challenge.

On another note, one of the judges brought up the question of male submissions compared to female writes, which made me note all my choices were those of female writers.  Which makes me ask: In terms of erotica are men more prone to gravitate towards female writers, and women towards men with the cache that women can also find arousal and empathy in a female protagonist as well? (writing skills being equal)

Congratulations to toniscales, whose work earned a well-deserved win. Bravo to runner-ups! Thank you to Lobode for hosting, and posting all the feedback. My thanks to judges for points and their feedback.

Hmm, regarding female and male writers, personally the gender of a writer is noteworthy to me only if they have written poorly or really well. That is to say, I will notice if they presented a cliche perspective, or been clumsy in presenting from the point of view of the opposite sex, or conversely, when they have done a really good job at it. Good writing shows, as does poor, regardless of gender.

Oh, wow, I am truly overwhelmed by this one. Thank you so much to Lobode for hosting, and to all the judges, runners-up, noteworthies, and everyone who entered a poem(s). I am proud to have had the opportunity to share with such talented, well-written poets. All the entries were gorgeous, evocative pieces that delivered a wide range of sizzle. Once again, thank you so much. You don't know how much I appreciate it.

oh wow! it is an honor to be given a nod in this one. so many great entries! congrats toni and grace!

concerning male/female writers:
the gender does not matter in the least. i have been equally turned on by both sexes and their words. i am drawn to a piece for its words and quality. what is between their legs is of no matter to me.

That's what I mean ... I think most women will read a good erotica piece regardless of gender; men I think gravitate towards women writers more often than not.  Just my opinion.

If Rapture is true ... You're the kinda woman my ol' southern minister grandfather used to warn me about ... That's why I stopped going to church

If Unhinged is true ... ... Hope the bastard paid the check at least and tipped well.

You speak to my point.  Maybe it's my own  bias but I find too many guys here with a few noted exceptions like JohnF ... Hemihead ... PoetSpeak write the same clumsy cliche erotica you mention.  (she climaxes 20 times ... Him 25 .... yaaaawwwwwnnn).

this is a very interesting conversation happening after this. I'm going to step out on a limb here and say this: guys who right erotica most often make it very Porn-ish. The ladies seem to put more aloof sensuality in their works. Not that I mind a good rousing fuck explained to me in explicit detail....but i love LOVE a good erotic piece that doesn't tell me everything. make sense?

To me that makes sense. I often find women's erotica more appealing than male ones because they mostly ARE more sensual instead of being rather porn-ish. Women who write porn-ish stuff are still a little more subtle in their wording. I personally do not doubt that different genders write different erotica. We should have a comp where anonymous erotic poems are submitted and judged. And the judges should give their opinion whether a poem was written by a female or a male writer. Could be interesting.

It's the same with porn films. Mostly done by men women only act for the pleasure of men. They are mostly produced to please men. I'm sure a porn film, produced by a woman, would turn out totally different.
