French, language of love
Poetry Contest Description
Write a poem of love, including French terms or expressions
French is considered as the language of Love, Romanticism (Italian is an other one in my opinion).
Some beautiful sentences demonstrate this : "Le prix d'Amour, c'est seulement Amour, ... Il faut aimer si l'on veut être aimé." (Honoré d' Urfé - 1568-1625) which means : "The price of love is only love, ... one must love if one desires to be loved."
"Je serai poète et toi poésie" (François Coppée - 1842-1908) which means : "I'll be a poet, and you'll be poetry."
"En sa beauté gît ma mort et ma vie." (Maurice Scève - 1501- 1564) which means "In her beauty rests my death and my life" Write a poem of love (exclusively a poem) which includes French words, French expressions.
Judgement of the poem produced is mainly the beauty of the mixture between English and French.
Invitation to all French poets of DUP to participate on the judge's panel (send me a pm).

I have a problem. I'm one of those kids who always has to be first. The class kiss ass. Though I know it, I just can't help myself. So here's a little something to start things off.
SOMERSET WISCONSIN
I grew up in Somerset Wisconsin
An ethnic village of French Canadians
I miss warm bowls of soupe aux pois
On a cold winter’s day
Those memories make me
Wish once again I was a boy
Living on the banks of the beautiful fleuve
Father Hennepin named the ‘St, Croix’

Funny, this name St,Croix river (I have checked it) a mistake in the name, like my birth city Saint-Affrique with a double F!

C'est La Vie
One day I was sitting at the park
Staring at the bridge and it's beautiful arch.
It was a happy day, the wind was mild,
The sun was shining, and children ran wild.
'C'est la vie' an elder man next to me said,
And in joy a tear I shed.
Then the skies grew grey,
Which came a gloomy day.
As the wind grew harsh,
The flowers died hard.
Children and love disappeared,
As cold rain fell and stabbed us like a spear.
I sat and watched the saddening scene,
And the man next to me said, 'C'est la vie.'

L’amour - qu’est-ce que c’est?
C’est le vent qui fait envoier vos sens,
L’orage qui détruit votre esprit.
Comme une armée, il vous occupe contre votre gré;
Comme une maladie, il vous accable,
Et il n’y a pas de remède.
Et pourtant...et pourtant...
Malgré le douleur de l’amour:
Les poètes glorifient l’amour,
Les jeunes hommes se tuent pour l’amour,
Les jeunes filles rêvent de l’amour.
Pourquoi? Se pourrait-il que
Nous sommes amoureux de l’amour?

seulement pour entendre mes cris
comme mon âme leeped.

vers une terre lointaine où heartache jamais eu sa journée.
Les nuages de l'amour
lancées par comme mon coeur tressaillit de rattraper ce que
la gauche.

to a far away land where heartache never had its day.
Clouds of love
floated by as my heart leaped to catch what's left.
