I keep my eye
on labels of judgement
tossing slice of intellect
carrying a picture of Jesus
in my pocket
like an insurance card
laminated , dog eared
from thumbing at irony
of contradiction,
glancing at pointillism
sideways,
brushing dust of
disappoints without guilt,
patched neuroticism
embraced;
old friend un-winged
