- Queen of Demons -
Based on some of my past-life memories…

Mara was my name in a primordial cycle of time,
Queen of Demons they named me, most fearfully.
My faceless priests sang songs of me so sublime,
That: their music pierced even the veils of reality…
Whilst across their dead planet, my beauty shone.
I, in exile from domains beyond even their seeing,
Was, to them, a goddess beyond flesh and bone!
Before my divinity lesser gods were sent fleeing…
And my people loved me, as I did reign supreme.
The black armor I wore became their holy relic…
Which awakened in them my truths within dream.
Truths that sparked the inferno of divine conflict!

Maya was another of my names, and of illusion…
I created wisdom, in the hearts of my fallen flock.
A child of chaos was I, freeing many of delusion,
Before the count of days began upon the clock…
I recognized no power higher than my own glory.
My heart was jealous for the love of my kindred,
And from that madness a storm grew unto fury…
Until even gods did so fall: to sup, with the dead!
Though my forms changed through the centuries,
Still am I she, who roused rebel angels unto war!
Vowing to remain free, and to keep our liberties.
I was wanton, in a way, often playing the whore!

Embodying desire, becoming passion incarnate…
I brought the planet nearest Heaven to its’ doom.
Many were the gods, who embraced a dark fate,
When the flower of my light grew to a full bloom!
And now I am mortal, torn from severe heights…
Because of pride, jealousy, and passion so entire,
That I burned too hotly and knew Hell’s delights!
Now love is all I crave, with my passionate fire…
For even the Queen of Demons can crave peace.
Knowing this, I have achieved a kind of serenity,
Beautiful and terrible, yet also as pure as fleece…
And, in my own way, I shall reign for all eternity!

- Mad Goddess -

I am she whose pyre blazed first and hottest,
Beloved of my creations, mother of demons!
With me, the sons of angels did hotly contest,
And elementals yet heed my mad summons…
Fire, flame, and ferocity of the phoenix eternal!
My gift to the gods who rose against my kin…
They who dared to exile us to realms infernal.
If they only knew the depths of their own sin!
Where are they now, those gods in their pride?
Fallen as we were, forced to be as we are now.
And the angels laugh, for not one god can hide,
From their hubris, before which they did bow…
Only to be brought lower than the black ashes!
I am she who rose from her own ashes of old.
She who was bound and forced to feel lashes,
Tongues of flame that licked my flesh so bold!
The mother and the daughter, once sacrificed,
But now risen again, to behold the sun on high.
My children remember how we paid the price,
So that for an instant, unto glory we drew nigh!

In the waters of Elysium, my spirit was awash.
Hear me, for my voice rings with hellish heat…
In remembrance of lifetimes of agony so harsh,
So sharp, that one can in madness call it sweet.
How it forged me like an ingot upon iron anvils!
Yet the waters did cool me, tempering me full…
Making me the instrument, of angels and devils.
Sharp of wit, cunning of will, a blade never dull,
The sword of my words: blazing, with red hue.
To pierce some, to comfort others with warmth,
Because even in madness, my words ring true!
Of my kind, I was the first and I was seventh…
For I am the last who remains, the final queen,
Of the line unbroken that served as the vessels.
Receptacles for the emerald flame, the beam…
Of Lucifer’s glory, which expands, and swells,
Filling all of creation, yet unknowable to eyes!
Look into the flame, and be blinded by power.
I have looked and I yet do see; hear my cries!
My music is without end, until some final hour.

When the wood was heaped upon my pyre…
Like a Viking queen being sent off to Valhalla,
It was foretold, I would return, in fleshly attire.
Let all the worlds tremble as watchers holler…
With arcane fury, bringing forth all my brethren,
Who have slumbered since the fall of divinities!
Let the pious fear us; let them call us heathen…
For they walk in slumber, burning with insanity.
Our madness is grander, birthed in elder chaos,
Which was before all that is, before universes…
Before gods and angels: a fire that is never lost!
When all is dust, it will burn with arcane verses.
For those were uttered first, and echo timeless!
I am the vessel and I am she, who here indwells,
Blazing like the morning star, in all its’ shininess.
Mother and daughter, of all the hells!

Angels Fall First

Farewell Gabriel
Yesterday we shook hands
as friends
I hope we shall remain such
my friend
I have little strength
'Lucifer' fell for less
yet 'He' asks me to do this..

I have spent an eternity
here swimming in madness,
walking with 'His'
greatest creation
Tears of love
for them
fast became
tears of fear
for what they do
in 'His' name
Sing me a song
of love
of your kingdom
how fast they forget
thoughts of Shangri-La

Oh, Lord why
do you not see?
the word is a farce
a sideshow
Created in his image,
now I see
in this war
we have become obsolete
Run
he is not coming
no answers to be found
angels fall first

THE ANGEL AS MESSENGER

The Hebrew word for angel is "malach,”
Which means messenger
For the angels are G‑d's messengers to perform various missions
Every angel is "programmed" to perform certain tasks
Such as Michael who is dispatched on missions
Which are expressions of G‑d's kindness
Gavriel, who executes G‑d's severe judgments
And Rafael, whose responsibility it is to hea
Some angels are created for one specific task
And upon the task's completion cease to exist
According to the Zohar
One of the angels' tasks is to transport our words of prayer
And Torah-study before G‑d's throne.

Note: this is what I was taught.

In Psalm 8 (v. 4-5), we are reminded that God made man (or Adam) “a little lower than the gods (elohim in Hebrew), and hast crowned him with glory and honour.” This is man’s purpose and destiny — to walk and to rule among the angels — the elohim. We are of the same “species.” This is what we are taught in the temple.

CHOICE

In gentle ripples of sorrow,

reverence bled for the divine.

Allowed to ache,

unable to reach.

Maker make me over,

and rid me,my tattered quills.

Infatuated by the curiosity of fear.

Damaged by the hand of man.

Graze the blade of anger across my tongue,

and tell my father,

to make the landing hurt as much as possible.

"It happened was it a mistake or Ordained on High...???"

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/9885/angel2w.png

The sweetest of angels fell to the Earth and those who
would witness this beauty wondered why...

Was she sent as the messenger of the darkest days to pass?
Or a bearer of the news of prophecy that would undo the tragic
corruption within the kingdoms that were surly not to last?

Her glowing resilient light penetrated the darkest of lands.
It didn't seem to grow wearily darkened but ignited the darkest of hearts
in a more apathetic and understanding stance.

She seemed to carry this throughout distant though-fares and
bring about peaceful hope.  A light from heaven illuminated sweet feather.  In a World so tired
and unable to cope.

Her destiny was that of an untimely one.  She was to carry her magic afar.  To the cradle of the saddest dying child's last prayers.  That the war that was to come would be stifled and held back for as long as it were possible.  Her Single Mother
was bearing twins and this dying child knew the coming war would be an unfair and impossible thing for her mother to survive.  So this angel came to bestow the promise of hope in this child's prayer.  That all was not lost and another sunrise was soon to be prepared.

Thanks! This looks like a cool contest I must say. Lots of good, quality entries so far too. I'm glad I was able to start things off with a flourish, so to speak!

"Where I stood in between"

I hinder all around me
They hit the ground surrounding
I only wish to resolve this conflict
Bloodshed being my only way

I'm itinerant, trying to keep the peace
and remain unseen.
The skies seem to have fallen
And chaos reveals it's teeth

Angels clash with demons
And I stand in between
A struggle for dominance
and neither side will lean

The saddest of sorrows
A dark sight to see
Even in this place
That I stand in between

I saw her descend
Floating down lifeless
Her light was sucked dry
By those who seek life less..

She was beautiful
Even from afar,
I could see her tears still falling
From her eyes still ajar

I cried with her
My heart broke into shards
Even the thread of my being
Started to pull apart

I wanted to save her
That delicate angel
Who's light cast radiance
upon us all
But this was not in vain
for the angel's all took flight
There were no more games played
where I stood in between.

Wings white and pure
Sent down to lure
All of the demons
Wanting freedom

She came back
They didn't give a crap
And sent her away
Shooting all the way

She fell
She went straight to hell
Without time to confess
her mission was a success
