Confession
I've never been with my own kind
Wait a sec
Let me ammend that
I've always been with my own kind
Seemingly contradictory
But not
Its paradoxical
Reality
As self evident
As can be

Firstly.........
G*D bless US
The Oblivious
those to whom
the truth is elementarily obvious
for Hetero-Homo-Lesbo-Transgendo-Sapien's
continued existence
We are ALL the same kind
ALL defined
when our parents entwine
they basically sign
on the Helixed line

to circumvent
this Cosmic Purpose
you`d basically have to do it
with a porpoise

Nextly.....
We gotsa
Filter out
Fetish-icity
The he/she
Is "my type"
Kinda thing
Cause that's just
Like being distracted
By something shiny
Speaking from personal experience
If the gal of my interest
Scores eleven across all of
My mysterious involuntary
Pherominal tests......
well then the union
Ya might as well bless
Cause a Soul will find itself
Totally powerless
To tear itself away
from that level
Of chemical
Magneticness

Howevah......

thirdly............
whether this individual
In question
is from geneology
like mine
or from a tribe
My momma wont
even mention
A geneology
That would cause
Rabbinical dissention
Well
I for one would have
Zero apprehension
In sharing all life's blessings
With this babe
In question
Provided
We see eye to eye
desire
Thigh to thigh
Share a certain
Level vibe
Hard to describe
Yet palpably alive

Oy.  A soul mate
Is hard enough to find
Without adhereing to some
Arbitrary conditions
Loosely culturally desired
By the status quo
Of a narrowly defined
genetic kind
Beautiful she and I
Will trust the Elders wise
Enough to devise
A way to survive
despite

What else can I say besides that she got away
of course leaving me black and blue regretting
today, so slowly i try to move on but thats better
said than done, a heavy heart weighs a ton but
a gun weighs nothing when rain overpowers
the sun and leaves the soul to rot plotting the
worst a man can do to feel whole again, slowly
feeling like climbing in a hole again wondering
how come I didnt learn from the last time my
heart died as I swore to the big man in the sky
that it would never happen again. I lied in the
face of the holy just to satisfy my gigantic size
ego but through it all wherever I go he goes
and nothing can escape my love for the clouds
except for a black rose dressed in redtail shorts
walking along this gang infested land pondering
when all the violence will end, come and take my
hand and let love overtake the mistakes made,
we were only twenty when love entered and made
our lives complicated knowing we were different
colors and from two different parts of town,
one hated the color black while the other was old fashioned.
For two years it didnt bother us even though we almost started
race wars, you were my angel, someone I would have died for,
I can't believe you're not in my life anymore, peer pressure got the
best of you but I understand the choice needed to be
made in the name of family but at the time my life
was blurry, the world passing in such a hurry and
I stuck to my corner motionless screaming betrayal
but what you had to do was all in the name of love,
you call me asking for forgiveness but you will
Always be my dove and hell to the world for not
Understanding true love, for you I thank God.

Saw you walking in the mall.

Short skirt, high heels, walking tall.
Wiggly butt, bouncy bust, quite the doll.
Styled up hair, perfect lips, the power to enthrall.
Strutting walk, sideways look, did you see me at all?

On your way to dine and dance.

Did  you, maybe, glimpse me askance?
My love (and lust) for you, unnoticed, perchance?
You gave me not even a glance.
Is it true, I never had a chance?

I remember when first we met.

I'll never forget, you were the coquette.
I, my Juliet, was an honored cadet.
We should have been the perfect duet.
It should have been kismet.

That was then, but this is now.

When I asked, you raised an eyebrow.
My love (and lust) I did avow.
Your response was, ciao.
I thought, wow, meow.

Are my dreams never to be satisfied?

My love (and lust) you could not abide.
My proposal you pushed aside.
Our permanent separation you implied.
With your wish I have complied.

My reverie, my grail, lost, died.
Not even once will we meet bedside?
Ne'er will you delight in me inside?
Not ever will I experience you astride?

Could it be that the truth to me you could not confide?
I was white, was it your black pride?

I have no experience of intercultural marriage in my family's known history (apart from, if you count it, an English great uncle who married a German and had a daughter with her), but I accept interracial marriages with ease.  My favourite Bible romance is that of Ruth and Boaz.  Yesterday thinking of the thread theme led me to write this questioning of religious taboos about interracial marriage:

INTERRACIAL MARRIAGE – WHY NOT, THEN?

In a marriage is it a sin
For one to have darker skin?
If lived in loyalty and love,
Do they not please the Lord Above?
If they should have mixed-race children,
Does not gene pool healthy widen?
Did not Christ have as ancestress
A dutiful Moabitess,
Whose skin may have differed in tone
From that which her Boaz did own?
