Road Trip
All This For Apple Pie
I'm out on the open road
Driving on a half empty tank
Radio playing my favorite tunes
I'll reach my destination soon
Absorbing the breathtaking scenery
As I'm driving it moves like a slide show
Trying to abide by the speed limit
The last thing I need is a speeding ticket
My suitcase is in the trunk of the car
All my essential items are within it
Outfits, lotion, toiletries, flip flops
My map is by my side so I'll know where's the pitstops
Speaking of pitstops I need to make one now
All this driving is making me hungry
And I have to use the bathroom
Reminds me I have to load up on gas soon
I enter the diner and have a seat at the counter
I order a tall pancake stack
With a lot of butter and a lot of syrup
With a side of coffee in a styrofoam cup
I left a tip and used the bathroom
Then made my way to the car
I'm about to drive to the nearest gas station
I'll soon reach my destination
A half a mile later I found the gas station
Filled up the tank to capacity
I'm feeling optimistic I'm making good time
Home is on my mind
Two hours later I'm finally here
I can finally stretch my legs
As I step out the car and let out a sigh
Time to hug my mama and indulge on apple pie

Just Like Little Twigs,,,,
And I Am Returning These Books To Them,,,
So That They,,,Can Get An Good Education,,,
And Insure The Survival,,,
Of This Wild Midget Cannabal Nation,,,,

i was driving south on highway 3
just out of
Boston
fresh from the
River Charles
when i saw you
carrying a gas can
so i stopped to give you a ride
to a gasoline station
but you smiled
as you got in
and showed me your gas can
how you'd cut a hole in the side
disguised it with a bit of tape
you told me that really
you were hitchhiking to
Provincetown
it was just easier
to get a ride this way
and i loved your flair
and i loved your smile
and i loved your gas can suitcase
"it’s waterproof" you said
"and strong enough to sit on"
and everything you needed fit inside
your socks
and your faith in God
and your toothbrush
and your little 22 pistol
and your poems
your poems
which you began to read in
Yarmouth
and by
Wellfleet
there was room for me in there as well

i can:
i keep a journal with me at all times
to record all of my sickly self-crimes
as i continue to walk, bike, and drive along
i hope nothing else in my life goes wrong
another thought pops up in my head
oh how i wish it was full of lead
i feel as if i need to get away maybe a new environment will make this go away
oh how i need so badly a heavenly holiday
i plan and plan, its already passed 3 months
oh the hours pass and into days, then weeks and even more months
but wait looking upon my desk i think i have found it! a book that will solve it all
a solution to all this trouble
away i go to an unfamilar place
so i swipe away the tears on my face
i pack light an give away the rest
i wont say goodbye, for i know it will be a cry fest
by picking up this suitcase i will not look back
i wont even leave behind a track.
