Poetry Contest

Write a poem using only a DUP member as your inspiration.
Lately I've seen a lot of these thinly (and not-so-thinly) veiled um, "observations" between poet and poet on this site.

RULES
Write a poem using only a DUP member of your choice as the inspiration. I've done one or two of these before, and I always found them to be a good way to write something new.

You don't need to know the member personally, and the member can be presented in your poem in any way you wish. Just try not to explicitly state which of the members you're referring to.

- Up to three entries per person.
- Any form.

Sometimes beautiful things encounter darkness
then shrink away.like the violet, when hit
with the cruel frost cannot survive the day.

I have seen life throw all it has at you
watched on and wished there was something
I could do, or say or be.

These words, these mere lines are for you
written by me to show that whatever it is
you do, i will always be in awe of what
you have inside that gets you through.

much respect goes out to you.

It was your age that captured me.
The maturity that seeped through your vowels
like small flower buds
aiming for the sunlight
and strangled by the constricting weeds.

You talked to me of your needs.
You came with a desire of exploration,
questioning the world that bought me to my knees
and I confessed truths
hoping that you would indeed believe.

We never speak anymore.
Dead words lay redundant.
I read them sometimes
in quiet moments when evaluation is required.
I admired the opinions in which you showed so well

I've never really let you know.
You hurt me so.

Illuminating Inspiration

You think you are weak
but you are so very strong
and you think you won't make it,
but princessa you're wrong

I would kill him if I had the chance
for what he took from you
for all the light he suffocated
and the pain he put you through

You bleed out in every written word
and my heart pumps tepid tears for you
I'm so scared each line will be your last
despite how much I'm here for you

Please don't let him destroy your gift
the world is hungry for your prose
you are an illuminating inspiration
and within me your fire still glows.

Hang in there...I'm always here when you need to scream.   x x

HIS WRITING IS SO EROTIC

This poet is so eloquent

The subject of carnal love is excellent

His poems make me weak in the knees

I want to see

If he is as good as his poetry

Grace's Nimbus

You grace the pages
You write your poems
Sometimes they clash
With what you wish
Flying through the world
Of Maya speak
Or reality so mundane
Your words they spark
Encouragement
For strength, to go on
Through you I now believe
There is friendship
Beyond the physical
Forged through the mind

Who Are You (Anymore)?

Who are you anymore?
I use to know you,
not on this site
but in person.
I dated you.
Loved you.
Was your friend.
But when I read your poems.
It's like you're a stranger.
Some anonymous writer.
I feel so sick reading your words.
But at the same time,
I can't stop reading them.
I need to read your poems.
Watching your life unfold,
like a new flower's petals in the spring.
I needed to watch your life in words,
like I use to watch you sleep.
I need to feel you forget me,
like I use to feel you breathe.

I wish that I could stop these tears.
I'm happy now, with him.
Without you.
But watching you,
Watching your life.
Without me...
It makes me feel like,
I'm losing my mind.
Losing who I am suppose to be.
But still I watch you write,
read your words.
Maybe I'll see a final message to me,
or something of the sort.
I'll never be done with you.
And I can never allow you to be done with me.

I loved you.
Who you use to be.
I don't like the person you made me become.
Or the person that you became.
So I read your poems.
Your whispered words.
Your anonymous writing(s)

I read them and I wonder.
Who are you (anymore)?

Speak softly, dear one.
Where words are few,
and yet,
when I fall, I drift through clouds
and land unscathed
in a dimension of innocent beauty.
Reminiscent and true.

Soft echoes
in an unfamiliar tongue
where vowels explain
the journeys of the heart
and mind,
and the whispers locked
firmly within your gentle head
I am convinced
remain cruelly unsaid.

Thank you for the entries so far, (almost) everyone.

{hear the truth}

Truthfully speaking,
you're in a sad state, Sweetie.
Your wanna-be rap words flow
like undercooked oatmeal down a gullet:
not cool.

As much as you drool and beat over
pissing off the ladies
and can't stand the boys
(or anybody, really, that gets absolutely no joy
from your vomit on a screen...)
nobody reads you.
Unfortunately, I have to, to make sure
you're not stealing people's words
like the pathetic pick-pocket you try to be.
We see you're just looking for drama
to make your dick hard, Son
but Jaysus, give it a rest.
You're turning out to be nothing but a pest
and your sidekick only checks in
because you gave him a position.
(read that how you want {lmao})

I tried for a second, you know
but I can't even bother coming close
to making this classy like Missy did
Or taking you down in rhyme
like the 'green guy' you disappoint every time
you try to fuck with

and truthfully speaking...
you weren't even worth this
8-minute piss from my fingertips.
Take a bow.

"The Whispered Words"
by:  Eric L. Boddie

As he closed the door
He saw all of her sultry curves
She walked over, pulled him tight
And then she simply whispered words....

She said kiss me, don't resist me
Put your lips on me like you miss me
She said soothe me, don't confuse me
Tonight I don't care, baby use me
She said stroke me, yeah baby soak me
Use those big hands, yeah boy grope me
She said lick me, oooohh baby stick me
This kitty won't purr, daddy fix me
She said hold me, you can even scold me
You can hit it like you want to, baby fold me
She said bend me, then rear end me
My body's been neglected, just attend to me
She said eat it, please baby beat it
And make sure I get mine before you skeet it....

And the night was perfect
By the neighbors, so many screams of passion were heard
All because she had to have it
All because of her...whispered....words....

"Amazing Grace"
by:  Eric L. Boddie

I don't know where you are from
But it seems I have known you for years
I have never seen your face
But I hear your Spirit loud and clear

Dreams have been encountered
About the Beauty you do possess
And I'm not talking about a physical appearance
I'm talking about the Beauty that can relieve a man's stress

Rarely does any woman
Fit the definition of a lady so nicely
Truly elegant and full of class
The perfect type to take the y off of wifey

You are all these things
And I am sure you have to know it
I mean in everything I have seen you do
You always seem to show it

And on top of that you are seductive
Your thoughts, they simply tantalize
And for that reason alone
You are the object for which so many fantasize

Deep, well-rounded, and Beautifully intense
Godly, alluring, sensual....they just scratch the surface of the list
That define the essence that a real man can not resist
The physical evidence that true Beauty does exist

"The Distant Muse"
by:  Eric L. Boddie

Well now how are you today
I'm just hoping I can send a smile your way
Because that pretty face should never show a frown
Unless it's some good Loving going down
And make no mistake
Goodest = ate
And I hope you won't think I'm a jerk
But you make it so hard not to flirt
Because I see so much Beauty in your eyes
And your mind is brighter than the clear skys
And your heart just seems so very sincere
So I'm sure an Angel's voice is what I would hear
If our physical paths ever crossed
I know I would probably be lost
In such a vision that has no flaw
Perfectly Beautiful By His Law
And that's the Greatest Law for any to pursue
And it seems that His Grace & Glory surely did find you...
