Polarity       (SP Summerscales)

You spoke to me
I heard the resonance
your polarity
a place of convalescence
a sound so easy and free
I could feel your presence
you pull the spirit from me
with your magnetic ,
angellical essence .

All those miles away
but you were here
in my ear
exactly where it will stay
tomorrow will be more clear
another day more whole
but you stay
close to my soul
all my problems at bay
and closer to my goal .

You're in my colourful mind
where we can both unwind
the bind
and sip spiritual wine
for an atlantic always
valentine .

To  toast
the ghost
of torn yesterdays
and host
to everlasting of
all spacious glades .

Green of emerald
cut to a perfectional
jewelled in an all time
infinately
and recommendable ,
a tomorrow of undeniable
and a reliable
source of unspendable
and undefiable,
you're my commendable
of an unknotted tieable ,
for which I will always
lend myself
so pliable .

I had to excuse myself in the noise-get in-lock the door
of Joana's wash room while all of them including Joana
stood-sang-screamed-glasses and hands in hand
Inside it all sounded like coming from distance
I looked up and around well aware that using
someone else's washroom could be warm-
even intimate-in a rather strange way
I could see the toiletry-the astringent
the old mauve Maybelline-the scrub
with apricot-the skin lotion with
sea minerals and the face wash
And there was a jump cut in
the amphitheatre of  mind
as I blinked and there was
a quick   c h a n g e o v e r
where I stood in a washroom
nothing like this one-of course
but relatable-pastel-pink and all
There was a half-open wooden cabinet
I pushed with the fingers of my eyes-valium-
good-morning pills-tampons and tiny bottles of
plastic-glass with cognac-whiskey-whatnot-collectibles
gathered from trips from here-there-elsewhere and a few
safety razors-aquamarine-stylish with hair trapped in between
the blades and spots of blood-oxidized-crusted and long forgotten
how typical of a manic-depressive woman who took glum for a zone
of never-ending peace and comfort and a night of tears for deliverance
and trusted me when I had told her of my status as the Great wall of China
for she wailed-flailed-fought-slapped-hit-punched-nailed-kissed-fell silent at last
mumbling 'forgive' for what seemed like an inverted roller coaster ride in crisscrossing
loops and then I had fallen asleep-gifts unwrapped-with the first wedding card invitation
a prototype of course on which I needed her seal of approval and a ticket for two to Bali
they stayed that way of course until someone from the hospital staff took it the next day
from the stretcher her arm  stared back at me-a tapestry which looked like a game of snake
and ladders-albeit one that was unplayable for she had declared herself the winner-no questions
Zenobia wilted and the eastern wind took her farther every time the earth turned until she was dust
I tried to come back to my present-another Valentine's-with gifts-gin and tonic-Joana and years in between
but then they say one who tries to escape[e the past is truly trapped there and I hated the ongoing party anyway
So I stayed there-locked in my time capsule-with the bitter aftertaste of dark cocoa-sporting my Chronometer watch
which sadly ran forward separating the fluid membrane of linear time and me while my valentine danced the night away.

My lonely Valentine

A card with a heart
drawn in red colour pencil
an arrow through it
and a little scribble
saying 'I love you'
laying on a park bench
with a stone to weigh it down
I look around
no one's to be found
I looked again
and I saw the tiny words
written on top
'who ever finds this,
I love you.'
Ah...another as lonely as I.

- To Make You Mine -

A Valentine’s Day Poem

I promised Heaven I would find a way to make you mine,
And so I pondered with my heart, for the very longest time.
I thought about all the things that people might call sublime,
But at last I decided that I would present you with a rhyme.

Flowers are so beautiful, but in time the petals might fade,
And that would leave you sad, and wanting for their shade.
I thought that might make you unhappy, and so I was afraid!
Then at last I created a poem that, just for you, was made.

Candies can be tasty, but when you eat them they are gone,
And that would leave you hungry, with a face sad and long.
I thought about how I’d cheer you, and it hit me very strong!
I realized a poem would last forever, and sing just like a song.

Jewelry can be lovely, but soon it tarnishes with aging glow,
And that would leave you gloomy, with nothing left to show.
I thought that would be a poor way to see how well I know,
That what you want is this poem, with words that ever flow.

I promised Heaven I would please you this Valentine’s Day,
And so I pondered with my heart, for the most special way.
I thought about all the gifts that such a girl might call sublime,
But at last I decided that I would present you with this rhyme.

Hells sunset

trees with depressing reflections
heart-warming skies
to show affections
waiting for my count at noon
whispers too long
so come by soon
the sinners lanscape i look upon
beauty with it's propaganda
saints, now all gone
passing time is now to much
alone i face
in evils dust like such
sickly and weak the cupids smile
poison arrows
a new heart on death's pile
St Valentine, where is he?
my count in the sunset
saving me from the sea

Post-Mortem

The world turned crooked again,
and I woke up on the floor.

Where did my axis go?
as it melted into the sweat of my palms.

Inside the drawer is a gift
    I´m too afraid to open.

Today, the sun rose again along
with all those other played out clichés,
but the rain still falls from my ceiling.

The next time I see her,
it will be underneath my blue hoodie.

She will laugh, before she says
hello! and touches my elbow.

I already know,
I will tell her

    “everything is fine”.

My Friend, My Love:

With tenderness and passion
We constantly discover
More about our love;
More about each other.

What we now have is love,
Before, we were just friends
We touch and talk and know
That the wonder never ends.

Our eyes reveal the inner soul,
The depth of our love and care,
There's so much more to know;
So much more to share.

We started out as friends,
But it's no secret how we feel,
For the love that's grown between us,
Is something strong and real.

My Ageless Valentine <3

Take down your fences,
Your dark pigment eyes.
Portray those worth more than diamonds;
For diamonds are blind.

Falling forward to surroundings,
But we'll never get bruised.
Cos you'd fall on me,
As I'd fall for you.

Give me no reason to cry on this day.
Lease me your fortune,
To spend my whole
Life away.

And when times get tough,
We'll go back in time.
And I'll trade you for diamonds,
Before you go blind.

You shattered my heart
into more pieces than
that old, bathroom mirror
you punched in fury -
Then waltzed away
unscathed and left me
to clean it up.
All alone.

You tore my trust to
sloppy shards - sent my
butterflies south for
the winter. And I cried
myself to sleep more
nights than I would
ever care to count.
All alone.

But you never
managed to destroy
the way I feel about love.
Because -despite your hate-
I still love to love.
And today,
I will celebrate that.
Even, all alone.
