Poetry Contest

Write a story poem about the one you love , it could be about a current lover or a past one , also a family member will do or a true friend
Collaborations are favoured but not necessary .

Two Worlds  Together     ( In collaboration with Joetina Arc)

If I had the power
of all the gods ,
I would make all
the hours
come back that I lost ,
If I could only
run around the world
then I'd love you to show me
what you are , pretty girl .

Oh! How you talk of turning back
that which has gone by,
how you desire to behold me
under the enchanting oriental sky,
Why is it that you wish
to run so far?
Crossing the wild wide oceans
and breaking all the bars,
You welcome a new day there
when the sun, at my side sinks,
Are you sure if I’m the pretty one
of whom you think?

I know what I can see
it's an ugly world
for a pretty lady ,
I dream of global
travels
to meet other minds
of national madness ,
emancipation ,
infiltration ,
aviation
high speed stations ,
jubilation in vacation
no negation
in exploration
I know you don't know me
but you're on my wavelength
pretty you are
just believe in yourself
no matter how far
I'd welcome
your distance
trust is on a par
with adult consistence .

‘tis true that ugliness surrounds
this world with you and me,
It blinds my eyes with tears
making me unable to see,
Tis you,who connects to me
from the occidental land so far,
You’re a lover, a brother, a father
A great human, you’re a true soul , rockstar.

You could have anybody
or anything
your whole life ahead of you
with many a note to sing ,
the Eastern sky
is behind your eyes
with a world of men willing
to sit , to sigh
beside your side
of lovely olive skin .

This world is already divided on feeble grounds
of cast, religion, nation, race and skin
Yet, amidst such deadening differences
lay minds and hearts so similar and akin
Your European mind delights in global travels,
to your explorations, my eastern mysteries unravel
Such is the melange of cultures that fascinate
with this fascination, love and harmony germinate
how the East, the olive skin, the tabla and the sitar
come together in-sync with the rockstar and his guitar
nowhere else can miracles happen at their best
here in verse, the East gets collaborated with the West.

Also here's another example .

Heartspoken    (SP Summerscales)  (In collaboration with grace)

As far away as the constellations
as near as your heartbeat
Further than lost paradise
as near as your breath
As distant as Atlantis
as near as yourself.

Myself is so far
from here tonight
tell me which star
to follow , my guide
inside I die
as I think you know why
I'm hollow and broken
I'm lost in the sky .

You are never lost
For you have the skies
The width of the universe
New horizons beyond the stars
Never broken, never alone
To want is to hold within
Where heartbeats drum in rhythm
Never, no, never alone

Alone is my second name
I roam empty beckonings
on loan always second rate
my heart grows
then goes to waste
I know you are far away
I hope maybe to someday
re-zone and to come your way
I know lonely
in all my days

Lonely is a single leaf brown upon a branch
But the branch holds it
Lonely is a little snowflake on its descent
But the earth welcomes it
Lonely is a shooting star in a twilight sky
But its welcomed into all wishes
Lonely you are,
But surrounded by adoring, beautiful faces
And across the room you are much loved
Never lonely, no, never.

Yes but I feel lost
and lonely
without cost
and homely
your touch if only
would mean so much
if you would know me

I know you as you know me
Lost in a crowd of thousands
Needing in the land of plenty
Be with me in my thoughts
My playmate in Maya
Cleave in flesh as one there
On this realm, apart we are

Yes apart we are
and I still look for the star
the beaming solar
with much meaning afar
the such that you are
the gleaming gold bar
I'm dreaming I know this
so seemingly worthless

I bow to you
I acquiesce, apart is sad
It rips the heart
I beg humbly to be known
For me as I am
Together Apart

Implore you need not
for dreams is all
I have got
I conceed
to the maya
we breathe  .

And one more heheh .

The Mile High Club    ( In collaboration with Gigi)

So you want to
meet me in the sky
anytime , impromptu
a verticle high ,
in the washroom
western blue skies of zoom
any airline will do , that's fine .

As long as its you
With that scent that has me craving
Damn I can't wait
I'd like to take you on this here chair
Imagine everyone's faces seeing your legs in the air?
Me sucking them succulent thighs
spreading you oh so wide
slowly Sliding in
kissing your sexy lips
chewing on your swollen nipple  , a mile high .

Amid the roar of the turbines
you cum some more  closing your eyes
Trembling with after shock
Reminiscent of every single blow
Yea I broke that back
When I bent you over like that
Now I bore you through the skies
With whispers and raspy words against your  bare neck
Sliding my hands through your mass of hair
It smells so good, like cucumbers and melons
Just Like you
Pulling a bit, just so she doesn't  forget what we just shared
Against her lips I say
Don't be shy baby
we just joined the mile high club today..

Do we live in a fantasy
looking at the screen
but blink in the real world
and breathe for our dreams
to be ,
whichever way around
a mile high sounds good to me
we without sound
can be heard through the words
we read
the verbs and the verse
of free ,
writings conversantly
enlightning through poetry
this is why you see
a mile high sounds good to me .

The song you never heard

The first missed call
and then another
followed by a text from you
and my heart was a dynamo
sending spurts of impulses

I was
weakened-excited
hopeful-agitated- floating
bursting- jubilant-animated
quivering -rheumy eyed

And I reread your text
kissing your finger tips
your eye lids, ecstatic
and my cell phone vibrated

A massive heart attack
the lava burst of Vesuvius
the first drop of tear

to see…

the one sacrosanct, pure
the divinity of the moment
the ethereal gift across
the ever expanding time

I picked up the phone
stifling-euphoric silence
random breaths and smiles
in whispers-wisps of joy

'Hi' you uttered
I melted
like an island of butter
my heart started ringing
and I thanked god
for giving me
ears-nerves-life
and I said
wow-your voice is so sexy…’

and I regretted it
the very next moment
for my heart was
fizzing with poetry that moment
and you grinned again

'Liar' you said
and I was yours
for that moment, for that hour
for that night, for this life

I knelt down in utter submission
and offered myself
with eyes closed

my goddess-my Cleopatra- my czarina
my empress-my Helena- my celestial gift

I waited with baited breath
for you to throw rosy petals
or drive a knife thru my heart

You did none but just owned my heart
bleeding-pulsating- alive

You took it in your palms
and sang a lullaby for me
gazing at me, lying prostate
arms spread towards you
and you smiled-nostalgia
and piety blooming in your heart

my goddess-my shrine-my divinity
mounted atop my altar of endless love
The truth of the universe you live in is
that I am yours, in all meaning and truth

my heart sings and bleeds and cries and laughs
and beats and leaps and dances and stops
only for you…
my love-my life-my bundle of joy

My sequined bride-my night queen-my blessing
and accept it or not, It would do so, this heart
from here till evermore-pumping saccharine blood
sweetened and drugged and flowing with love
for you my love, my truth, my pain, my life...

only you....

Love story

Looking into his eyes
They are reflections of the sky
Drowning me in a whirlpool
Of wants, needs and desires
I stare into them and fly
In a phantasmagoric world
The core of me in exquisite
pain and ache of needs

I walk into his arms
And lost my soul within
He has become my all
He is my world
I have come home
His heart is my sky
His love my ground
I love him with all my strength

He melts into me
And we become one
A oneness, a togetherness
The mating of body and soul
Flying towards the sky
Bursting in confetti of colours
And floating down in blissful
Satisfaction…

The moments have passed
And here I sit
In an empty theatre
I wait here still
For replay of the same
Old movie in aged projectors
In my mind’s eyes,
I seek encores
of lovers loving scenes
I sit here still
Silence complete.

For the princess I loved and lost in another life, hundreds of years ago:

- The Princess in the River -

Prologue: Son of the Dragon

I was called the Son of the Dragon, in an old guise I wore…
Just one name of many, one scar of countless that I so bore.
People speak of life and death as if a single set of memories,
Can anchor a soul to one or the other, like a cross blessedly.
Yet a cross is but a symbol of torment used for a new cause,
And sometimes death is but a moment when we must pause.
Like an actor, I rose again to play my part in my fresh attire,
Never forgetting lines spoken of old; that burn like cruel fire!
Once I had another name, and wore raiment now long dust,
I was wild in my heart and had a soul burning mad with lust.
Yet love tamed that madness sure, for one whose spirit yet,
Haunts my dreams so oft at night, so that I can never forget.
Green her gown and raven her hair, with eyes sparkling still,
Despite that centuries have passed and, likely, they yet will.
People remember my legend, but of her they oft speak not,
And so I shall immortalize her final days with poetic thought.

Part One: Another Age

Hard it is to tell of her, and yet for love’s sake I will persist,
And resurrect the dread memory, that ghost from my past…
Cold was the day that fell upon the land: and chill the breath!
In my castle, on the mount above the river cold as icy death,
Where ‘round about the wooded lands on and on did range,
Within which so many of the simple folk, did oft feel strange.
Dark forests beneath the cloudy sky, endless in the number,
An image frozen in my mind: that I must eternally remember.
Therein those stony halls, was I then a prince of noble fame,
Of the order of my father so sworn, the Dragon’s own flame.
Bloody were the wars of those times, and scarlet my blade…
The price of chivalry paid in full, though my heart was afraid.
Afraid to lose the single treasure for which my life endured…
The princess who kept me content, and my soul enamored.
Ironic that her name should be lost to me whilst mine spoke,
By so many, who knew me not: a dark god’s cruelest joke!

Part Two: The Final Night

Night was our last time together and so she became queen,
Queen of the night for me ever since, and all as I had seen.
Red was the day of battle to come, to keep my castle well,
And red was the ground near the forests, as fires from Hell.
Dark was the sky above my lands, a storm carrying me on,
As my sword met the armies before it, all of time had gone.
So close we were to victory, as a single act of cold deceit,
Took from me all for which I dreamed, before my sad feet.
An arrow through a windowpane, with a simple note there,
Telling my princess I had perished, laying her heart so bare.
She saw not the place where I fought on, could not know,
That her beloved’s heart still beat, beyond rock and snow.
And so, she leapt from the high tower, into the river below,
Never to know God’s grace again, or feel the winds blow.
In hearing of my beloved’s end, madness so took my soul,
And vengeance rose up in my heart; I had lost my control.

Part Three: Damnation

My soul was lost on that hour, if but an hour is all it takes,
For a soul to become damned, even to linger on mistakes.
To this day men tell tales of red woods thick with blood…
In the land beyond the forests, where I wept a bitter flood!
For every tear I shed that day, a soul was to Hades cast…
Until my rage was wholly spent, and not one foe could last.
To my castle I returned, and held my love’s lifeless form…
Desiring to join her in death so that I might keep her warm.
My hand, that slew a hundred men, now caressed a maid,
So gently that you’d not have known it in woodland shade.
Green the gown she wore as her last, and raven her hair…
The last I’d ever see it again, the beauty of my lady so fair.
So pale was she then, unlike the rosy color of her youth…
For in death, all youth is undone, and lost is all life’s truth.
Eyes once big and dark with love, were now shut in sleep,
Eternally to dream of us, in some paradise vast and deep!

Part Four: One Last Kiss

The priests cast her back into the river, denying a grave…
Although so much for God was lost, even more we gave!
No more for God, for where was he to welcome my love?
Perhaps another could help us, in some dark place above.
I left the priests to perish, when we abandoned our home,
To fight for our country with every bit of flesh and bone…
But before we left the castle to the ravages of time’s hand,
I washed my face in the river, one with her and the land…
One last kiss for the one I so loved, forever swept away,
No more to dance with me, beneath the light of the day.
Her blood was still in that river then, and stained my face,
So that I had to wash again, until I was cleaner than lace!
In night I found my solace after that, and in darkness pure,
I hoped to meet my love again along time’s winding shore.
Another life I walk in now, but how the old ages do haunt,
In the hours of the night, when a maid’s love is all I want!

Epilogue: Vampire

Vampire they called me, for superstitious hearts know ill,
Save what they can imagine, and that does not a river fill!
But I was and am only a man, once perhaps much higher,
Than mere mortals are want to be, if mayhap a tad shier…
For so many secrets have I held that words cannot speak!
Even the gods I walked with are beings sometimes weak.
And so sometimes I must unlock those vaults of my soul,
Letting those who retell my legend once again to know…
That still I exist and I remember things as they once were,
But more than anything else even, I do still remember her!
The princess in the river that still flows strong to this hour,
Who lived in an ancient castle above it: my solitary flower.
In the land beyond the forests, where dark lie the shadows,
Where once the sun smiled upon the lush green meadows.
There we lived and were happy for but one span of years,
I hope that we will meet again and cast away all our tears.

That was riveting stuff , you are truly a very talented writer , I'm not usually easily impressed to be honest , not that much but that was very good and tell me , kou indigo , where is this river , this castle and such ? I get a feeling (although I could be wrong of course)that it's closer to me than yourself at the moment , saying that it is applicable to many an area I guess but I enjoyed this , thanks for the share of words my friend :)

not much of a story but i guess it still fits under the category?

This love
has no love.
A twisted illusion
to a down right lie.

A contagious kiss
lead to an everlasting disease.
Eating away at the tissues and muscles that held it all together.

This love has no love
unless this is how love is meant to be
If it is true,
kill me now.

Static Radio

We coincided at the party, music pump loud
And drank ourselves to a dancing state.
As the basslines roped us toward the floor,
The music, it beat hard and steady.
In that weekend-world of fleeting hedonism
it was the most stable thing.
We could brace ourselves on it,
let it carry the weight of the world
for just those few minutes.
So we danced and gyrated through the heat and the sweat and the press
And found ourselves further along than when we started.

The hits set us up like blind dates.
And through it all, the radio played on.

We drove around, just enjoying ourselves
and this point of want tangent to have.
Windows down, music flow out
Proclaiming our gloried state like trumpeters—
Hearken all,
look upon us happy frolicking!
As the road became fluid with the cars with the stores with the houses
And the world ceased to exist,
except to ruffle our hair and to accept those songs
which we thrust upon all.
That dial, it powered our lives.

Those oldies gave us easy laughs.
And through it all, the radio played on.

Well the rough times come to all.
Those rocks in the path
which are just too hard
for some to cross with hands clasped tight.
And so, we had to part.
The music turned down,
we wrapped our spot in words
Against some fitting soft song—
And when it came to breaking point,
the poignant notes bridged the silence.
The door closed on my heart and acoustic.

The notes, they slid like tears.
And through it all, the radio played on.

Now I sit at the bar
with my 80-proof.
The music pumps for others now,
I just use it to lose myself.
My vision fixed fast on the lacquer-starved wood,
The noise buffers me from them all.
Guitars riff and scream, someone turn it up
and I don't even have to think.
For she fills my thoughts ere I do.
And it's only a fleeting reprieve—
but I've never asked for more than that.

And the speakers obliged my request.
And through it all, the radio plays on.

The hits that we have to love,
the soundtrack to memories,
the radio plays them all.
I'll remember you by the songs.
