      < something fell >

     or anything
     or anyone

     we
     or us
or whatever you did this morning

do you remember the orange and brown of them rising in the wind?

     our time
     running backwards
     bits of spring
     in our nose
     leaves
     heading for the trees

Did You Say Coffee  (SP Summerscales)

With half a name
and no image ,
inside my brain
you cause a spillage .

Conversations
condemnations
they stretch across
two known nations
I have no cost
and variable stations
I am my own boss
with a lot of patience .

You know where I've been
you read what others see ,
if I was five
you'd have my jelly beans
I say these silly things
and in gone days
wore golden rings
sometimes I may forget
what it is that I should bring .

I've lived a lot of life
in the dark and in the light
not always am I right
I joined the bee's
but failed in flight
my mouth is bigger than my bite
I die in the day
but live by night

I am earthly
can you quake
your agelessly awake
and always out of sight
can you make
the dull night bright .

So coffee anyday
don't worry it's ok
I'm not loony
just insane
maybe soon
I may stray
from the glue
of my domain
on a zooming
high speed train
images , spillages
leakling from my brain .

Lemmy Caution, great work, love your grasp of the abstract

Paul, as ever a wonderful read, love the 4 opening lines, they really set the mood for "Did you say coffee"

         Shake it up

Above is a blood drenched sky
and i wonder why the poisoned stream
runs through this urban jungle

a shrill scream from a tortured soul
pierces through the thick smog
leaving it's sound waves to make a life

in the distance
a lone weary bull elephant
trudges back to the bone-yard

Addendum to the Accoutrements

It's overrated.
Trust in the instincts
of red and green—
though I suppose you would
be colorblind.

Shave a path
from point A
to your destination:
no reason to assume
point blank
that it's point B,
or Tammany Hall.

And don't come looking.

Who wants to play
with a three-legged dog?
Cute and cuddly
it'll always be, but
sprite and studly
nevermore.

"Susceptibility," she purred.
"That's the beauty in it."
I'll purr to that.

Grace's Nonsense Verses

Believe me he says
As he slaps the bees away
I am serious
I am here to stay
I stare at his monocle
The blind mole

I love you he says
And tries to embrace me
The mousedeer looks mildly affronted
When he touches its ears
And tries to kiss its nose
Go away it hisses

June showers and winter snow
Travels the couple, they who show
The trails of snails
on billowing sails
To a faraway land
Where Shangri-la stands
Towering bright upon the sand
