First Kiss that you count.
Fishing & a 12 Year Old Girl
I got a message in the playground
top secret on crumpled paper
Meet me at the splash on Saturday
She was wearing her white school socks
pulled up to below the knee
and I was surprised how wise she seemed
She knew the names of seven fish
and so I realised
not every girl in my school
was stupid after all
She talked a lot and smiled,
squirming one foot against the other
trying to hide her muddy shoes
I would have polished them with my spit
if she asked
It was mutual worship
and I had lost my last trace of shame
She told me
she could set a worm on a hook
and she wasn't scared
to walk through the woods.
I didn't mind she was slightly taller,
it sort of felt good
knowing fishing was just an excuse
And then we were running,
late home for tea
obsessed with our different directions
That first kiss in a clearing
and the taste of sunlight
still roaring in my ears
I prayed no-one had seen
made her swear
she'd never tell
a single soul
about the terrible thunder
we'd felt jumping
in our hearts
But the Devil was out of the bag
and maybe God was angry
because for some reason
we never spoke again
not one word
It was the biggest fish
I never caught.

A soft one in her bedroom before we went to sleep
She kissed me between her ropes and snares
She kissed me when I bled
She didn’t kiss me when I pleaded
Not even when I wept
I kissed her for her nightmares
I kissed her for her charm
Sadly she didn’t kiss me before I slipped from her arms
I still remember those kisses
And how my blood stained red the snow
But you’ll never find me back there
Not for all the sweet memories in the world
And again out in the street
Kissed me on her door step

My Moment In Time
A sunny warm day at the beach.
Perfect for swimming.
Friends all around.
A blonde blue eyed boy that I think I like.
I am skipping school in a bikini.
Everything is wrong, I am not allowed these luxuries.
I take my time to enjoy these moments.
I feel like a total rebel.
Wearing a bikini without a top covering me,
Skinnydipping with boys,
Skipping school,
Smoking weed.
I love it.
I lay on the offered towel, cuddled by this boy.
I turn towards him and endulge myself in this moment.
I look up to meet his eyes, and that's when it happens!
The kiss! Oh, sweet memory!
It seemed to last forever, the tender touch of his lips to mine.
Ecstasy! I was in love.
Caught hook line and sinker. Head over heels.
As the kiss ended, he said softly, "Would you go out with me?"
I said, "Yes" breathlessly, and his lips once again met mine.
We were the perfect couple. Both blonde haired, blue eyed, and kind.
I should have known it was too good to be true.
Betrayed by my best friend, and stupid rumors.
The loss was too much for me to bear.
I often wished that my life had ended in that moment, the minute we broke up.
I still care about him and wish everything had worked out.
But life moves on, too quickly it seems.
