WARDRUNA
Poetry Contest Description
write a text about this song or video

WARDRUNA is one of my all time favorite bands. The amazing combination of Einar Selvik and Lindi Fay Hella is just superbly magical. They became even more well known for their music in the Vikings series.
WARDRUNA is more, much more than music, its about commitment to the old ways. To the pre Christian early pagan traditions of Scandinavia. The music is well thought of and many of the decorum is made of all natural things so you will have a feeling of entering this beautiful space, a sacred space.
This song is inspired by old folkmusic, it is about the world of the elves.

Text translation in English
The hens are waking up
magic has just begun
the norns spin and weave
binding threads
when sun shimmers
in a ring
around
the Elves awaken
sun ring
around
The old gods cry
like howling wolves
rasping raven songs
shake the earth
forest awakens
the axis turns
and through the fields
earth
sun a ring

Wardruna
Very peaceful song.
I like the touch of the wooden instruments.
The song may refer to elves and
Witches of way back when
But they also exist through this day
Some reincarnated possibly
In the lovely Witches of Spring,
The Wiccas.
I like the touch of the wooden instruments.
The song may refer to elves and
Witches of way back when
But they also exist through this day
Some reincarnated possibly
In the lovely Witches of Spring,
The Wiccas.

The world of witches
I am fascinated, mesmerized
By the world of witches
Perhaps most of them were
Very ordinary women
With a strong bond to Nature,
With a superb knowledge of herbs, spices
And medecines,
The sort of knowledge which scared men
Especially men of the clergy,
Weak and oftentimes uneducated men
Who resented their secret powers
Which they likely figured were gifts.
Of the devil
So the threat had to be eliminated
Yet witches, with their special flair about Nature
Exist (thank God) to this day
By the world of witches
Perhaps most of them were
Very ordinary women
With a strong bond to Nature,
With a superb knowledge of herbs, spices
And medecines,
The sort of knowledge which scared men
Especially men of the clergy,
Weak and oftentimes uneducated men
Who resented their secret powers
Which they likely figured were gifts.

So the threat had to be eliminated
Yet witches, with their special flair about Nature
Exist (thank God) to this day
