Poetry Contest Description
New Member of the Month Feature
Welcome to "New Member of the Month"!
You have 3 weeks to nominate Your favorite poems from a NEW DUP poet - someone who has been a member for no more than six months.
To locate New Members simply click on 'Poems' > *Latest Poems > Sort Poems > New Members!
Please note the following guidelines when making nominations:
1. Self nominations are not accepted. The great majority of the competitions here are about spotlighting one's own work on a particular topic or theme. This is a chance to nominate that poem that you wish you had written but some other great talent here beat you to it.
2. Until this comp is established, there is no limit to nominations; however, you can't nominate more than one poem per individual new member. *****
3. No DUPLICATES. If someone nominates the same poem the entry will be deleted. If you like it that much wait and vote for it!
4. Any genre except erotica or pornography. This is a Facebook feature and we must adhere to their guidelines.
5. Any member who is banned or disables their account PRIOR to the win will be automatically disqualified.
6. One win per member per calendar year ( 12 months ).
7. All nominators should notify their nominees of nominations.
8. PLEASE DON’T NOMINATE RECENT WINNERS ( see list below )
Any nominated member who wishes to opt out of the competition may do so by messaging me. I will contact the person who nominated you and request an alternate nomination.
Nomination Duration is 3 weeks followed by a week of site voting!

fanciful things
i lie awake at night,
glass of water by my bed
and pale moonlight
from the open window
my hands drift beneath
silk and satin sheets
my fingers walk then run
then dance
my arousal sings
of the fanciful things
that fill a vivid
mind
glass of water by my bed
and pale moonlight
from the open window
my hands drift beneath
silk and satin sheets
my fingers walk then run
then dance
my arousal sings
of the fanciful things
that fill a vivid
mind

I haven't showered in days
My brain numb fom haze
Too much cannabis
How can I get over this
You left me alone
Abandoned by the phone
Little boy with big brown eyes
Im not your father's lies
Im here. Im right here
Ive got your back little boy
I know your story
You need not worry
So run to me
Throw your arms around me
Ill carry you to your glory
You were just a child
The things you seen
All all monsters
Well you slain them all
But dont you worry
You make it out
You made it out of here
Yesterday i thought
I never make it through
The days they are pouring
ghosts underneath my bed
Are all scared our you
You know their secrets
And you ate all those worms
Chewed em up shallowed them
Now my head is like the sea
Calm in the summer morning
The sunrise is my soul
I can embrace tomorrow
Now that the little boy is gone
He went away yeah he went away
And i am still standing here
My mind on a wave
My brain numb fom haze
Too much cannabis
How can I get over this
You left me alone
Abandoned by the phone
Little boy with big brown eyes
Im not your father's lies
Im here. Im right here

I can't Breathe
I sit at the edge of the world.
Once regrettably unwilling.
Now painfully conscious.
Feet dangling over the abyss
In an attempt to address the
Irreconcilable.
All around the earth melts
And weeps.
Like flesh slowly dripping off bone.
Sloppily congealed. Over-saturated.
Once tightly bound in white satin,
Now destined to unravel.
In my fragile self-embrace
Our society is mirrored.
I am but a shadow on a distant
Landscape, barely visible in the
Infinite horizon of space, wondering
Which way to float.
Echoes shout, dulled only
By justly scarred systems.
Haunted by forms of previous and
Future indecencies.
What will be
The event, that brings
Finality.
A brilliant flash of lights?
Passionate rage, too heavy
To subdue, so instead
It’s dematerialized
By the oppressor?
Radioactive winds burn the throat
And boils blood.
Unrelentingly, until a hoarse voice
Chokes out the words
I can’t breathe.
Once regrettably unwilling.
Now painfully conscious.

blank page
We started with a blank page
to that virgin dance floor we went
on that hard wood floor we took those first steps
beneath those dim light the love dance commenced
the music the two step and swing we dance to everything
so many different feeling meeting they could be ignored
your hand on my shoulder mine on your hip
moving smooth like skaters doing eights
you were like no one I had ever meet before
in our silence the music and the wood floor
an unspoken beauty in this moment
a story of two hearts love developing
our first night acquainted began to grow late
closing time wishing this night didn't have to end
others we had dance under those same light
the same hard wood floor and music
what we felt from that first two step
opened anew page for you and me
every thing before we hit delete
a blank page a love story being written
on two hearts on a simple country dance floor
page one and chapter one first love
now man and wife become one
