Exhale

You have to be certain
that tides will turn,
leave their silent foam
lost on unlit sands,
as clouds form hands
to cover our eyes .

Convincing as a gamblers bet
sunlight calls to catch a breath
and holds it through the darkest night
till mornings spark ignites our light.

We face the sun in dawns pale wake
and bite its gold to prove it fake
sleepless from a shallow chest
we deep sea divers take leaded steps.

Bad Guy

You say I don’t understand…
that your wickedness is the worst ever,
the epitome of evil…
that your arrogance and destructiveness can’t be forgiven,
that I’m too pure to comprehend,
and that’s why you can’t be real.

I just have to laugh.
You have no idea how many ways
inside my mind
I have murdered you,
cut you to pieces,
and danced on your burnt bones.
We all have demons,
and I’m sorry, but yours aren’t special.
They wreak their havoc
(just like mine)
and whisper the lie that they own you.
But they do not.

So, don’t mistake my disinterest in violence
for a lack of understanding.
I am also a complete human, and accept this darkness
as a necessary part of you and me.
I want to know you completely,
so I won’t judge as your inner villains rage
through words, fists or silence.

Just don’t expect me to cheer them on.

I Never Said

I never said I was a nice person
You should be highly aware of this fact
Yet if I dare to say something out of turn
You turn around and absolutely wrecked
Accuse me of being a bad person
You won’t be the first or the last
I cannot help what I’ve been molded to be
Or how I’ve been shaped by my past
I’ve tried to be nice before
But always end up the one burned
And with each reiterated lesson
Consider it a tough lesson learned
Time and time again every time
Seems no matter how hard I try
I have to resort to sarcasm and snarkiness
Just to keep on getting by

The Singularity

For a few moments America
took a step back in time
old ideas became the new
drive-in movies came back to life

more family time together
kids playing in the backyard
we even cleaned up the air
we breathe, If only for a while

people cheered for the
stimulas checks, at the same time
dying at the hands of a global pandemic

COVID-19 is taking away our personal touch,
commonly becoming more robotic
and less human.

I can certainly foresee the singularity
coming, not literally anytime soon
but in the many things we now do
sometimes I wonder
are we being groomed?

Can’t Last Forever

The weather.
It can’t last forever.
It has to change.

Change brings change.
Brilliant!
Now we’ll have something to talk about.
You don’t want to discuss atmospheric pressure?

Improbable odds for riveting conversation every time we speak
only makes me want to sew my mouth closed.

Lacking the stimulating
Chit chat you crave
I scour the internet for random topics.

It’s a hopeless activity but
perhaps one of the talking points
will inspire the in depth communication desired.

I’d prefer to shove a ball gag in your yap, if I didn’t think you’d enjoy it.

Music Passion 2

R&B
childhood joy
appreciably grew
when I found
The Motown sound
middle aged boy
many years flew
still I tug that whistle cord
singing “TOOT TOOT” with the Pips
In the living room dancing
with my fun-loving big sis
arms water wheel, synchronous hips
swaying to Spinner's, O’Jay's
and Temptation's hits

Jazz
Temple of free expression
infuses me with avant garde cool
in unified jamming session
unique instrument voices pool
Dixieland, that happy contagion,
the first memory of which
was a bizarre occasion
a New Orleans
solemn funeral procession,
scene from a James Bond movie,
transformed into a celebration
after slaying a good secret agent
now, that Jazz, my more mature brain,
thinks is groovy

::web of stars::

the constellation
many stars perfectly aligned
coming together to make you
some dead stars heavy wounded and distraught
other dead stars healed strong loving and solid
standing in perfect alignment to guide and misguide
but we pray for the hurt ones to be wrapped in cocoons
of
healing prayers
and for the strong ones to kiss and heal the wounds
dead and alive
stiff and unbending to soft and empathic
lost and confused to present and knowing
the healing web of stars was a mystery remembered once again

50Universal Laws

Create a frequency
of harmony not discord
War feeds on disharmony
envy strife, and unrest
Live your life in contribution
to each others pleasure
as the bird adds her song
of joy
Law 1) The law of harmony  frequencies created agree
or disagree dark or light
wrong or right the universe
at work constantly.

You decide what you will learn
many lifetimes over you test
yourself may the sounding
that returns this lifetime
be a pleasant one
Law 2)The law Reincarnation
To live a life free of disharmony like a ripple in a pond
from here and beyond
what you send out will
come back to your account

A familiar attack upon your spirit
you are not a victim of this abuse
use wisdom to overcome  what you may have to learn
Law 3) The Law of Wisdom
Wisdom erases karma we learn wisdom through pain
living  for our own selfish greed creates a tragic life
relieve  suffering with
wisdom you will succeed

Through love and kindness
the letter of the law can receive  mitigation or, a life of depreciation
Law 4) The Law of Grace
by mercy and grace or
by the letter of the law
in order to prevent losing face
but by  love and kindness you should embrace

Be kind  we are all kin

(note) as i mentioned  the victim having something to learn is not intended to offend
for the innocent victim is NEVER to blame

SECOND ACTION

The meeting took the sheriff by surprise
as people-power grew, revealed its force
the priest suggested spreading subtle lies
to sow dissent, divide-and-rule of course

The day was waiting calmly for my presence
be true, be true she said be true to you
I need coherence in my inner essence
we’re both evolving into something new

And so the task began to reconcile
conflicted motivations of my heart
I watched the priest deliver lies in style
impressed by how straight-faced he played his part

I wondered if it always had to be
a never-ending battle to be free?

Changibg Futures

potentially bleak outlook
dark clouds of doubt
sweeping across  country
lateral flow test pockets
an amber warning

vaccines on the horizon
relieving pressure
lifting anxiety levels
genetic sampling
offers hope against variants

outbreaks will continue
no easy options
quite striking
these unnecessary deaths
historical lessons never learned

coronavirus consequences
longer ongoing illness
lingering problems
cascading uncertainies remain
life changing futures

It’s been a rough day tending to a sick pet of mine, and looking at the time I’ve realized I forgot to post my 5th poem! My apologies for being late.

Journal Stains

If I am worthy of a diary
Trap me in the lines of your memory
Needle my body through the page
So I may bleed into the next
Pencil my beauty in graphite
Stain my transgressions in ink
For I know there are things, we cannot erase
And for those chapters, I’m sorry
Bookmark, if necessary
Before this pen stained hand tires
You will lose me

Continue, as far as the paper allows
Never force these thoughts
It falls perfectly in place
As it should
When writing of me

that which is the full spectrum of ones beingness
when we label the thing
the thing is just the thing
when we erase the facts
mystery emerges
the mind bows out and off center stage
the feeling realm becomes palpable
the heart is revealed having been behind the curtain all along
love is the point and is here to stay
mystery is here to work
without the dissecting ways of the dominant mind

A Star Is Reborn

Twinkle twinkle little star
Do you still wonder who you are
Are you still high? Floating up above
Hiding from life and love?

Twinkle Twinkle little star
You look like a diamond from afar
Illusion fades on closer inspection
The eyes never lie about life direction

Twinkle Twinke little star
Luminescence becoming irregular
Are you fading out? Have you given up?
Is this a swan song you are giving us?

Twinkle Twinkle Supanova
Just when they thought the show was over
Ignited, reformed, a celestial explosion
A star is reborn to the life she has chosen

EPISODE 6/30

"A Wyrm lay here," said Jaragorn in the throes of discovery, pointing to the ground underneath Ahavarwen's magnifying quartz. "He struggled at the hands of two amphibious creatures." The Ranger dashed twenty yards to the north. "They dragged him kicking and screaming over here . . ."

"Right," said Ahavarwen in exasperation. "Because a few crushed blades of grass can tell you there was screaming. And besides, Glowyrms have no legs to kick with . . ?"

Jaragorn crawled on his hands and knees a few yards to the east and said, "There! His abductors paused to have an argument over what to do with DUGlo once they removed The One Poem ™ from his neck chain. One wanted to broil him on a shish kebob; the other wanted to boil him, then mash him, and stick him in a stew."

"O - M - G!" she exclaimed, stamping her foot. "You can't possibly know that!"

And if this wasn't enough nonsense to swallow, he finished by saying, "Then ... that's when a large bat-like creature descended from the forest canopy and spirited Mister Baggins away to its lair!"

Ahavarwen just glared, tapping her foot, with her arms crossed. "And you base this on what exactly?"

Jaragorn pointed up, replying, "Because said creature is currently perched fifty feet above our heads and is eyeballing you with ill intent."

Cool Dude Merry emptied water out of his guitar while Summdir used her Elvish blades to peel huge Leeches off of the Dwarves.

Rosie Grace dragged a waterlogged Satin Gamgeez from the Brandy Wine River ® onto the eastern bank. For a personal trainer, he was surprisingly out of shape. Being stressed with worry over Mister DUGlo wasn't helping.

John Ronald whinnied, missing his newfound Wyrmy companion, while Eerowyn wrung the water out of his tail.

"We haven't much time," informed PRadriel, whose white gown oddly was dry and shimmery as ever amongst the slew of filthy, soggy Dwarves. She pointed across to the western bank where the Nasty Ghoulies gathered, now shuffling around low to the ground and snapping their fingers. "The sun has almost disappeared and their rendition of West Side Story is a terrible thing to behold in the moonlight."

The Fellowship hoofed it on foot towards ThincTanc, carrying the Donkeys on their backs because the poor animals were tuckered out from all that paddling ashore.

The Nasty Ghoulies shrieked in frustration that their dance techniques were not intimidating enough without the power of The One Poem ™ in their Master's possession. They mounted their miniature black steeds and headed downriver to find a bridge to cross.

Upon reaching the mighty, black tower carved out of absurdian, Ganjosh reminisced, "Back in ThincTanc's heydey, the great Rainbow Coalition of Lizards held monthly councils here. We brainstormed up ideas on how to make Muddle Earth a more brighter, cheerful realm."

However, as they entered the front door that was left wide open, now it seemed to be deserted and fallen into neglect, sorely in need of a good dusting. And when they entered into the great oval hall, they were greeted by the strangest council meeting ever to take place in the tower's history.

Salamandar the White sat at the head of the table surrounded by a department store mannequin wearing red lingerie, a cardboard cutout of Aquaman, a life-sized replica of C3PO, a stuffed raccoon sporting a monocle, and a potted cactus.

"Greetings, Fellowship!" hailed Salamandar the White. "We were just discussing what to eat for the Superbowl party - spicy chicken wings or fondue dipped nachos."

Gimlyroo whispered in to Lunalass's ear, "I REALLY don't have a good feeling about this."
