Flame on Fingertips

(a pantoum)

Bring lighting flame on fingertips,
Rake valley’s cleft with arcane fire,
With dampened shades in ruffled lips
Storm cloud night, rainbow blue desire.

Rake valley’s cleft with arcane fire
Suspend in life a death of words
Storm cloud night, rainbow blue desire,
Murder Crow escapes in sheep-less herds.

Suspend in life a death of words
That frame the dirge of angels’ flight,
Murder crow escapes in sheep-less herds,
Grey moons of sacred, bleeding night.

That frame, the dirge of angel’s flight,
Disregard the dire beauty’s heart.
Grey moons of sacred bleeding night
That calls the rhymes of wound’s depart.

Disregard, the dire beauty’s heart,
Bring lightning flame on fingertips,
That calls the rhymes of wound’s depart
With dampened shades in ruffled lips.

Thank you Jadey, these are great.

We can do better folks, its V-day, show some more love to your friends, show them how much you appreciate their talent.  Let's make this comp 3+ pages by the end of the day.

Skirting The Waters Of Styx

I have no coin to eyes at the moment
as I wander the edge of these waters

Reflecting lifetimes flash amidst the waves
painting many happy times
there are no regrets
Only experience and all the definition it entails

Were it only once that death had its questions
the ramble here would never exist.

The walk of steady rhythm
more days of questions asked

...or the offbeat path

Gradual descent
into open arrival
I casually observe then immerse
myself with what detail
the winds whisper, the earthen promise
of dirt and stone

I will seep to the valley below
ride the open rains
for I know my home

what is earth and I...

ash or casket
leavens of bread
reach unto skies
from hallowed holes
the crevice of a mountainside
 residing hillside lift and sin

Choking indoor plants with cigarette smoke
Jim rubbed his fingers along the manufactured paper.
He likened the glued section to sails, flipping it up in a straight line, back to the butt.
Dog-ends litter his life, as does the last lucky smoke, haunting him like a stalker, knife at the ready.
There are no goodbyes, O how he wish there were.
For every smile he has ever had came from his friends.

Drops his head for a moment, not once coming up for air.
He surrounds himself with angels who know better than himself.
The sound of the rattle,
the fuss at such an early age and the one here propped upon the concrete.
Feel it scrape against Your face old man, was his moments thought.

There it was...deicide
so many times before
Thankfully, I have known them

O but then...

the wait putting the book back
on the old leveling shelf
somebody cry me the story
page eleven
dip down into the ink

soak within in my message

Collateral Damage

Enough will be enough.

Every minute an eternity in agony.

Sadness, no longer the mainstay.

Fury!

Dreams of vows fulfilled, never more.

An act once acted upon is synonym to a lie. Retraction no longer an option.

Is there a point to baring one’s soul?

Will shattered pieces of pledged love, only unto thee, be reparable?

Drunken slurs of disappointment turn to need.

To not be a duo feels crueler.

Nothing will be enough. Constant injuries birth selfish wantonness.

***+***+***+***+***+***

The only return is not.

We

have become collateral damage.

My Wheelchair and Me

Together we are unstoppable
Like a horse and its jockey
we race ahead of the crowd
I am the brain, it is the brawn
and together we are whole.
Apart we are useless,
helpless, and stationary
But joined, we are a single bond
free and powerful
no one can stop us.
They are free to keep pointing and laughing
talking behind hands, joking at our expense
but it doesn't matter
because we are free.
Free to leave them far behind
back, in their ignorance and hate
while we race ahead
toward a better future
where everyone is free
that’s what we do
My wheelchair and me

Homes

You walk by, you stare
not perfection but you're drawn
to its unique flair

blue shingles caressing
the night time sky

intrigue enters the picture
and you start to see
inside the sheerness
the classic curtains
with a touch of grey

you get closer and feel
a fire burning within
warming up the wind
there is comfort in the air
and living without despair

still looking
you can't help but wonder
the workings laid about
the entry and the halls
the mirrors revealing to us all

water runs
tepid thoughts tempt and bathe
a soothing serenade
there's a swing
and the moon happens by

you notice I notice
homes are built to last
the doorbell chimes
I open you close
the door to an ancient past
