Poetry Contest

If you'd like a little hopeful bit of fun, i have an idea. Simplicity from complexation. (All that's subjective)

If you're outside, look up. If you're indoors, find the sky at this moment please.

I'd love to hear you describe it within unnecessary (but mandatory) confines of:

-2 STANZAS
-4 LINES EACH
-(8 LINES TOTAL)
-FIRST AND LAST LINES MUST BE 5 SYLLABLES

I'm just excited if this gets any entries and the possibilities of what your minds think up.

(I doubt if it may even be interesting enough, but please limit 2 entries per person)

Hello--do you mean first and last lines of each stanza, being 5 syllables, or the first and last lines of the overall poem?  (I'm having a senior moment.... lol)

Sky-bound

singing in my hand
folded once, then once more
the simple origami
of a paper crane

a corner of sky
kiting all to myself
lighter than a lesser gull
reaching for the sun

Home-bound

from a dragon’s cage
my spirit at the window cries
to be set free and escape
where the sky awaits

I see the moon’s rise
long before the sun relents
behind clouds it will set
in magenta’s blush

Dark Blank Night

Sadly untextured
Like a canvas awaiting an artist's idea
The moon, taking the night off
Far too clear

The stars untethered
Unattached from their ceiling to kneel
An abyss, not even a drop
There is nothing near

The Sky Right Now

Absolutely black
Not a cloud to be found
nor a star from afar
Only planes spitting gas out the back

Polluted by lights the sky is diluted
Harder to see if there's an ET
Choppers with doctors, police helicopters
Back to my music

A New Sky

Something to be changed
Not yet a realised potential
Hung in darkness
Waiting for the morn

When the day returns
I won't be witness to her transformation
But I know how much she changes
And so, I thank her

Cloud Bound

cornflower edges fill my vision,
hint of blue water in the interim;
I’m cloud bound to the hoping
in a cloudless sky

sunshine hiding it’s face from me
here, but not really here;
chased away by icy winds,
taking warmth with it

Sky is Mind

Birds of a feather—
flocks far and near
Poetry is atmosphere
bringing kinds together

Celestial vessels flying free
art supporting me
Poems are the greater
parts of precious hearts

My sky

Night brings stars and moon
Day brings sun to refesh my temple
Jet trails cut its mantle
That canopy blue

Come aspirations
In the minds hot air ballons
Wing to the sky
Untied tangents fly

firmament

wounded by my pride
looking up i see the sky
calling me from my predicament
beyond  the bounds  of  the  firmament

earth’s  deadly  scars  are  impermanent
for those redeemed by the sacrament
Jah-Jah children cannot die
death's been crucified

Radiant Skies

I saw this sunset,
And it reminded me of you,
Painted with pretty colors,
It made for quite the view.

In these radiant skies I see your eyes,
When the hues are vivid and picturesque,
I'm in love with splendor and loveliness,
I have to confess.
