My Dog

"i am loyal as i don't have manners"
that's what they say,
but i do, just can't explain.

If i am barking, my feelings are well expressed
but not understood.
my existence is their protection,
the security of the entire family.

still, every man done wrong, is referred to my name
"dog",
My actions can be reckless ,sometimes
but responsibility is,
being the gate of their yard.

Take care of me, I'll take care of you
(ruff-ruff!!), i hope you understand now.

But We’re Sick of Him

Bukowski swore he was a man all for himself, that’s

edgy to love: bleak, pitying ramblings,
man versus humanity

but I swear
he’s not much of a poet unless you have two ears,
a tongue that fucks
soaking wet with language

and a heart that also sings when its drowned in liquor

after sleep there isn’t much you can do
for a man who can’t come when he’s awake

Mentor

It all started with a message
“can you mentor one more please?”
You not only said yes
But with open arms
Under your wings
Took in a total stranger
To groom, nurture and prune
Daily watering
This seed died not of thirst
Training the mind so
There won’t be death at your feet

A times, not convenient
For you’ve got
Commitments and family
Looking up to you
Your life to live and writes to pen down

Yet, you chose to water a seed
In another continent
Struggling to grow

This seed is sprouting now
And making you proud
In the little way seedlings knows
To make a farmer proud

Watching out for the tree it will become
With encouragement to just be “you”
All day long

It’s another day
A circle is complete and another drawn
In the calendar known to man
You’ve got dreams yet unfold
Visions to be manifested
Aspirations to be reached
Your life a beacon of hope to many

Mountains you’ve climbed
Valleys threaded yet undefeated
Many lives severed
Many still struggling
To stand and stay still
Yet your anchor holds
In Him who’s got your back
All day long

Your heart beats and longs
To be a life line to those
Whose path you cross
Yet you remain at the back
The screen your face to shield
Your hands exploit does
In lives privileged
To be touched by it

Happy Birthday

Fruit picking from plectrums

I've been lost
In a Humbuckers
field, picking
plump fruit from
plectrums, to fill stomp boxes
full of ripe fancy.

My fingers
cut deep on thin strings,
and I bend
with gravel
as I work away fretless,
always keeping time.

Weighed down by
a solid body,
sustained by
the richness
of a pentatonic crop,
heavy with rocks.

Mathematical Pain

Every day is a rotation
on the complex plane.
Everything moves just a bit
in predictably changing vectors,
all progress reversed
and redone,
so many times it's forgettable
if you don't bother to count.
It's derivative.
No matter where I run
the distance remains,
two plus two is still four,
sounds don't change meaning.
No matter how high I climb
only the X axis awaits me,
and numbers don't even care
if I'm about to puke.
I think I liked it better
when things were simple
and whole
and natural
and one digit.
When did life get so out of hand.
Where did all these
variables come from.
Now I can't even count to three
without going through
several infinities squared.
But such is pi.

Whooo hooooo! Congratulations, Luna!  This is my favorite of yours!  Webmiss will be along to correct the trophy award soon. It just says my name because I nominated you.  I am unsure who won second place - as it's not highlighted in Orange the way the winner is, so will congratulate them once Webmiss has corrected it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tallen, she's all yours now!

Edit: I see "The Loner" by Evocation is all grey - so perhaps they won second? We'll know soon!
