Not of this world

The astronouts that sat and dreamed
A centrifuge of spinning thoughts
Looked at the sky  prone in the faith they would achieve
By seat of pants as they blast off

Through the G forces grimmace tight
The shaking world the rockets spate
A whispered prayer to ease that plight
And gravity left to escape

Not to be with bootlaces tied
The platitudes of days and months and years
By clocks of dark, and costallations all abide
The cosmos in its mass in that great herd

The tomb and womb as as they look out
No start no end just fireflies of stars
And none to answer when you scream and shout
Black emptiness to suck the brain apart

Twice as far as eternity and back again
Hawkins concepts a brief history explored
Eternity of shadows that remain
The stain its etching creeps in blue and mauve

Crows and rooks fly in that firmament unseen
Specters flocks of shapes all hidden
Where they the coloured counted sheep
A confluence of invisibility so smitten

Grave spirits for the days dower undertaker
Played the darker music from the Doors
For it is the mover and the shaker
Night vision never to be ours

For when we stand upon the edge
Float above ourselves so near to death
And welcome that abyss, seek mercys face
That night be our resting place

Drawing Deep The Well That Night

The smoke and ash from glowing embers
Left from a fire that raged hot that night

Was when she in her darkest thoughts had
Wrapped me in a deeper velvet, covering

A bed of lamb's wool, to be smothered
In a traditional, biblical love.

Where my paleness was the milk & honey
That laid among the goat herd with their teats

Full & dangling as I woke from their bleats.
And there she was, the warrior shepherdess

Waving the herd aside like a sea parting
Just as she began to kneel over me,

With musk descending, my arms reaching,
Our bodies curved as goat bells scattered.

Just a quick question... when I click Enter Competition, I submitted a poem but it did not show up on the pages. Is that how it is supposed to work, or did I submit my entry wrong? Just want to make certain I am doing this right. Still getting the hang of the Enter Competition button and how it works. *Smiles*

Oh, never mind! I figured it out, I had to click Preview and then Submit. All set.

Upon Night’s Seas

- Upon Night’s Seas -

In the night, in the embrace of shadow,
As the stars rise and the blue of daylight…
Of the skies that adorn hill and meadow,
Fades like a dying flower from all sight…
Mortal eyes see only part of this miracle.
Few there are who may look just beyond,
To see what the night stirs in deep hearts!
The yearnings for embraces and for song,
Which beckon to us from within the dark.
Such stirring, even when the night is still!

The eye within sees more than is evident,
To senses trapped in matrixes of limitation.
Let us dance; become my lovely celebrant,
Whilst I take thee far beyond any initiation!
The music plays, the moon bears witness,
For I am the darkness, I am night’s mistress!

Crickets and night birds call with fervor,
Singing songs of the night, to be savored…
Even whilst some look to the dark in fear,
Trying oft to will prayers to be answered…
Knowing not the divinity that is listening.
Few there are who may know of comfort,
Whilst held by the night with warm arms!
By what means, doth the night transport…
The spirit to ecstasy with its’ mad charms?
Who can say, amidst starlight’s glistening!

The flower of night blooms ever sweetest,
When shadows paint gardens, on the walls.
There, an ivy and a rose may grow prettiest,
Embraced by shadows, within night’s halls!
The music plays, the moon watches above,
For I am the black rose, of passion and love!

Mine eyes, hath seen night’s full visage,
As untainted by the sun’s pale imitation…
Unveiled, like the truth beyond a mirage,
Which may be seen through illumination…
A glory beyond: mundane heavenly ideas.
Love for a beautiful maiden, such desires,
Like fire burn and blaze in evening hours!
I am set alight, unmarred by hottest fires…
For fire and night are facets of my powers.
Sail beside me this eve, upon night’s seas!

I prepare a place upon the evening’s waters,
Where those kindred to myself may be free.
I was the first of night’s chosen daughters…
The light in the shadow, so that all may see!

Hello there, Melia! It is good to be on here again this evening. My life has been crazy lately, but I have been persevering. Lots of changes, but then again that is what life is all about. Your well wishes are always most welcome, sister, and never fail to bring a smile to my face!

SOLITUDE OF NIGHT SHADE

From my mind as I stop look and listen to the tranquilness that surrounds me as I stare up at the ceiling above as my mind drifts with each, silhouette of images creating shadows as night whispers through the night air revealing a calmness even to my soul of my being.
For as I become so very mesmerize by this atmosphere within the dead of night as its mere existences captures, the very deepness and depth of my spiritual being as I become, trap within an illumination that feels so therapeutic I can feel it contain and transform my mind and soul of my souls.
But yet as my mere subconsciousness elevates to an even higher level it resonates into an dimension of totally darkness, were there is no time only my thoughts being painted as a tapestry of blackness upon the walls which we call night, for it is here within the darkness of night where I feel the most at peace were I can abandon my daily thoughts throwing caution to the wind as well as the night of darkness as it comes within the night.

Voyager

( a Quatern )

To live a life of dreams by moonlit sail,
As over time a mind spends in the dark.
The lack of sunlight makes my skin go pale,
Beneath an atrium of fleeting spark.

As if I’ve always known to see by touch,
To live a life of dreams by moonlit sail.
I reach among the stars within my clutch,
Yet always I get tangled in their veil.

It’s in the dark I navigate the trail,
An endless ocean’s wide galactic sweep.
To live a life of dreams by moonlit sail,
That stretches far beyond when I’m asleep.

I find the voyages go further on,
Till I return at last as night prevails.
Then one day I’ll set off and I’ll be gone,
To live a life of dreams by moonlit sail.

Another Friday night

Another Friday night
The sky has come alive
Music and dance under the tavern lights
Beautiful and intoxicated eyes full of life
A single night, away from my life
I'll spend all my money tonight
I'll face tomorrow as it comes but for now I'm happy to be alive
I've got my beer goggles on
Dance until I drop
And you pretty little miss turn me on
There's joy and happiness at the bottom of this bottle
I'll swim until I hit the bottom
Dj don't stop, we don't wanna go home
The night is young, don't let it grow old
What more do I need?
I have my friends by my side
The ladies, and the beers are flying high
Time might not be on our side
But tonight I'll drink till I forget
Memories of tonight will be pictures on the net
Do it all.. I still have tomorrow for regrets
All my problems, my wife, my boss all of you forget
Cause tonight I'm just a can't get
Dj keep spinning those decks
Shh, let's tell no one about what happened in toilets
It's another Friday night, i just can't wait for the next

Define Reality

Dreams are reality
undiluted authenticity
Yet when I wake
painful hallucination
tenacity shattered

Have I ever mattered?
Conclusion skeptical
not really shocking

Supposedly impervious
looks can be devious
Regard more closely
Elevate introspection

My spirit decimated
emotion annihilated
I strive to exist all day

Failure come evening
I sleep, succor for me
now living my reality

In the Night

She’s restless in the dark,
Her mind is racing across time,
Her heart is relating a story,
But her soul is lost in thought.

He’s wanderlust in late hours,
And takes to walking the lonely streets,
The air is cold along the boulevard,
Without a sense of direction.

She peers out her bedroom window,
Her face pressed up against the pane,
Knowing he is somewhere out there,
Waiting for the day to meet him.

His steps echo in the sidewalks,
A shadow under the street lamps,
His breath becoming now visible,
Thinking she is warm in her bed.

Her heart races picturing him,
Taking her in his arms one night,
As she watches the city lights,
Believing he’s somewhere out there.

He pauses briefly looking up,
There’s a figure in a window,
But then he continues walking,
Thinking she’s asleep and dreaming.

The longing and the aching can stir emotions,
When all is silent and there’s no one else in sight,
When strangers and dreamers will be future lovers,
The minutes pass slowly yearning in the night.

Night Guardian

Where art thou; guardian of my night
You are the one who makes it all right

I come to bed all frazzled
My mind so often baffled
My body tired and weary
My eyes dull and bleary
My cares are soon shed
With your presence in the bed
Naked bodies embracing
Satisfying a craving
Love so sure and deep
We soon are asleep
