Poetry Contest

Natural Love
Nature, the elements, the natural deities, beings of the trees, the earth, the heavens, the water, the skies. Find two opposites and make it into a Love Poem.

For example

Day and Night
Water and Waves
Earth and humus
Aether and skies
Wings and Flight
Sun and Moon

Et Cetrera

Just as long as the two metaphores are opposites
Write a Love Poem with at least four stanzas
Make me feel the utter joy, the perfume of bliss, the delight, the inner most treasures, It can be mildly erotic but not explicit.
Feel free to find your own themes as long as they are connected with the natural worlds, use your creative sources, connect with the wild stream of the muses, and write, just write

two entries per poet allowed but it is not required with a second one
If you feel one says it all then listen to your inner knowings.

Greetings
Melia

Darkness and Light

You cannot have not have darkness without the light
You cannot have a morning without the night
You cannot have a void without the occupied
Darkness is akin to light more than you like
Dark is the yang, yin is the light
And somewhere between is your soul
Dwelling in the twilight!

Power

I summon the power of ancient forces to give me strength of wild horses .

I call upon the gods above to Grant me peace like a flock of doves.

I call to gods below to give me Windom of the great Willow .

I summon the fire from the earth to fuel my passion.

I ask for these powers to strengthen me
Hale the God's and blessed be.

Mother Earth and Father Sun

the dawn sang of magic pure and beautiful
the Earth spun on her axis
enchanted by the song
the sun rose on her enchantment
and warmed her heart

her children all awakened to the melody
sleepy in their beds
they smiled inside themselves
their mother was so happy
their roots tingled a little

slowly one by one their petals open
and they drank in the sun
tiny drops of hope
they shared with the firmament its self

the joy was then passed to the trees
great sentinels of old
who keep watch
they witness the sunrise
and felt their mother's joy
she then sent the wind
to rustle their leaves
and awaken them to the moment

hummingbird came with a story all his own
he whispered it to the flowers
it was then recorded on their petals
sky read it and told the trees
it was then scribed on their leaves

finally, the sun saw the truth
written in the sands
is the magic of poetic life
it revolved around him and his woman
is witnessed in all that is natural

so it was from the beginning
and will be until the end

Said The Sun To The Moon

The sun longed
for the cool embrace
of the bejeweled moon

though he would
shy away from her
scorching embrace

she loved his
rough edges and swagger
lusting for him throughout the day

eagerly awaiting the moment
when they would be as one in the sky
her heart raced at just the thought of him

her curvaceous sizzling figure
dressed in her best golden gown
she wished to impress him

desiring him with all her heart
finally he with his sexy voice
so sensual spoke to her

lovely one you sparkle and shine
I've been wanting you for an eternity now
though i'm afraid of getting burned

I've been hurt though
I carry a tough guy persona
with all my swagger

there's a tender heart underneath
kiss me sweet lady I've been gazing
at you for forever

watching you warm the Earth
tenderly seeing to the crops
feeding the humans with your giving rays

lay with me awhile as the tides roll in
let's make love while one in the sky
the moon and sun fell for each other hard

one cold the other scorching
worlds collided that day
as a new star was born

The Painted Bird

The painted bird sat on the ledge
the painted lady on the edge -
of life the bird and lady knew
one has to wait, life comes to you ...

Then sitting on her shoulder
the bird so sweetly sings
and drops into her trembling hand
a solid golden ring

she weeps with joy and laughter
the bird flies up quite high
says “come with me dear lady
fly with me in the sky”

she puts the ring on finger
and fiddles it around
then flies up high to meet the bird
some way above the ground

she asks the bird completely
“whence came the magic ring?”
“I am the Painted Bird” says he
“and magic is my thing”.

Gravity

No matter the time of day, the sky is alit with light
The sun shines shamelessly during the day
Past dusk, the stars shyly twinkle, and the moon glows white
Both celestial objects are impressive in their display.

The Earth below is their common ground
All three held together by gravity
Blessed by its rays, the sun became crowned
While the moon’s reflected surface holds a hue of sensuality.

Nuclear core and reflection reach out to each other
As the sun and moon race after one another along the sky
The moon, named Luna, provides comfort as does any mother
The sun, named Nova, is always a presence that one can rely.

Their love is timeless and pure
For us simple creatures on the surface, they appear as the same size
Through impacts and radiation, they both have endured
And out of the darkness have become wise.

Despite their love, the distance between them is great
Their fading light too far to reach even during the transition from night and day
Some say that their doomed love is due to cruel fate
Yet despite the odds, they have found a way.

The one, powerful moment where they can become one
A frightening, yet intriguing event known as a solar eclipse
A brief moment when the moon blocks out the sun
Allowing Nova the view of Luna as she’s stripped.

Nova finally sees the dark side of the moon
And deems Luna the most beautiful he has ever seen
His light tenderly envelops Luna in a bright cocoon
In that brief moment, nothing can come in between.

Alas, the moment passes, and they separate once more
But they cherish the rare event close to their hearts
Their everlasting love warms them to their core
They remain loyal to each other, even though they are far apart.

Sunlit-Night

Sunlit passion in the moonlit heart chamber,
your embers thaw my hot-blooded glacier.
You are my sun of the night sky.
I, your moon-glow – you, my sun-shine.

Twas’ a full moon
and all through the night-sky not a star was winking –
cast out by the resistless sorrows
of my gloomy eye-moonlight.

You felt that I, the moon, had arisen,
and the tear-tides swelled
in the darkness behind your eyelids –
winking adrift.

A pair of blurred suns then arose
from the slumber of the cold-blue horizon,
casting out my dimmed-moon with your radiant dawning.
Oh, that sun-fire gleam within your eyes when you see me!

I, the gloom, then recede into night but you catch me,
“fire can love tears” you said.
I reposed just as the faint moon in day – indistinct of what we are –
you’re my flame, I your tears, together we boil into quarrel.

Now she walks on by, the love in her eyes eclipsed.
I stand in weeping-lacerations, there is no hope left –
because fire and tears come not together.
Can one mend the disparity of our deities?

Whom is the embodiment of our love-force?
Whom is the personification of our love-force?
Tears boil
in quarrel.

In the twilight of our relationship,
your setting sun gave me one last sliver of a wink
before your eye sunk beneath the horizon.
Your cold-blue tears dyed into the warmth of your dying light.

I am not for you;
my moon eclipses your sun
and casts your world
into darkness.

deer

deer the messenger -
who travels to dimensions
anew to reach you

in times of weakness -
she listens to the silence
crying in your heart

in through the black holes
she travels within shadows -
unseen but serene

to rescue the souls
of the sad and tormented -
and so off you go

with your head held tall -
knowing all love and truth is
ineluctable
