Growing Up, Growing Old

I
I have tried being
Extra honest with myself
And it’s worked out great

II
Each day they tell me
That they love me sincerely
It makes me happy

III
Then I remember
What my father once taught me
Spend time together

IV
Now one is writing
He’s becoming a poet
Expressing himself

V
So for this new year
I only wish to become
A better father

Signification Of Presence

I

Didn't plan her way...
Yet she was there landscaping
roads never taken...

II

When they all became
center of the universe,
she stood to the left...

III

She opened one eye
and realized half a world
is better than one...

IV

Softly spoken word
stands alone away from pics
images and clips...

V

Give her twenty years
and she will be the table
you lay your cards on...
