Monsoon

Shivering flesh,
cheeks that blush,
battered hopes
that hurt so much.

Stains of rust
across a cheek,
tears of salt digging
down so deep.

As winds and rains
from the monsoon
devastate the land,
announcing death
through the homes
they have ruined,
in such way
a mind's unrest
torments the soul,
no longer awaiting peace
but death's bitter toll.

Through flames of hell,
it was foretold,
bitterness and heartbreak
would slowly unfold.

So sweet,
the cup of poison awaits,
to be swallowed in one go,
to mask the after taste.

Slowly, bending knees
and shallow breathing
will follow.
A final tear will spill, in the
certainty that there
will be no more tomorrow.

Canticus

I live in desperation,
I really don't fit in.
I wonder why I've
lived so long
and how it's going
to end.
I truly want to shut down
and be amongst
the shadows
of those forgotten
and freed from
life's bitter hallow.
I've been a wreck
from the very first day,
a nuisance to those
around me.
They all looked
and pitied me,
considering me so shallow.
I've made my mark
on this ball of dust
that owns me.
A useless being
without respite.
I pray that death
can find me and free
my soul tonight.
If God, oh God
would favour me,
as I was once a devoted slave,
and free me to his heavens
my soul would finally prevail.
Now to all of you that heed
my words, don't move your
hearts to judge.
My mind floats amongst
the grieving of those
whom life forgot.

White Noise

I scream; † † †
Larynx tearing at the seam † † † †
† † † †
Trying to shout; † † † †
choked warblings come out † † † †
† † † †
I dream † † † †
Nightmarish world crowding all about † † † †
† † † †
Me? † † † †
Will I ever wake up? † † † †
Unsettling is the doubt †
creeping into this ... † † † †
† † † †
dome † † † †
† † † †
Sad place you call,

Home † † † †
† † † †
where the playground grass †
is never growing; †
an artificial turf untouched †
by laughter of children †
in their to-ing and fro-ing † † † †
† † † †
Quothing, the Raven sings † † † †
crowing his Edgar Allen Poe-ing † † † †
Upon entering the Story Space † † † †
bursts into flame -† † † †
shrieking † † † †
shriking † † † †
plummeting to the ground; † † † †
charred beak, singed feathers † † † †
landing upon my face † † † † †
† † † †
White Noise; † † † †
deadly radius of superficial static † † † †
while locked away in dusty attic: † † † †
vibration unvocalized into words † † † †
† † † †
White Noise; † † †
spiraling down from the sky † † † †
lame magpied fried - † † †
scorched scores of dying blackbirds † † † †
† † † †
I fail to scream † † † †
This is where sonnetry goes to die! † † † †
† † † †
can't shout † † † †
Where lyricality commits suicide! † † † †
† † † †
Trapped inside † † † †
youth crying to be let out † † † †
bloodying their crippled fists † † † †
against rusty hinged attic doors † † † †
† † † †
Through cobwebbed keyholes † † † †
wild eyed blind boys peep † † † †
while the pigeon-toed deaf girls † † † †
weep † † † †
† † † †
White Noise! † † † †
Where the locals can be heard † † † †
discouraging poetry from being † † † †
put forth into word † † † †
broadcast as song † † † †
pretending life is normal † † † †
as if nothing is wrong † † † †
all along † † †
going about their lives † † † †
chanting† †
White Noise †
† † † †
Impenetrable is the sound barrier † † † †
White Noise
†† † † †
Downing any feathered message carrier † † † †
White Noise † †
††† † † †
Death to each and every dirty bird † † † †
White Noise † †
† †
Drowning out the ugly truths † † † †
desperate to be seen and heard † †
†† † †

Here

In earshot people speak like I'm not here.
I scan the room there's blood flowing like tears †
From every guest that mills and mumbles low, †
But do they care, or don't they even know? †
†
I tool around this unfamiliar place. †
Where have the players gone without a trace, †
While eerie music drones on the wrong speed; †
It's then I know I've done a horrid deed. †
†
It's gotten very quiet I confess †
By any other standard more or less. †
I know what is and need to make it clear, †
The only sane one uninvited here. †
†
I tip & toe and slide around the chairs, †
And squint my eyes to make me more aware. †
What kind of party was this meant to be? †
The scattered bodies leave no clues for me. †
†
I'll try to make some sense about all this, †
But first I need to plant a little kiss †
Upon the bloodied lips of someone dear; †
The only sane one uninvited here. †
†

Hollow Shell

This is it; Iím done
My heart still beats, yet no warmth flows through my veins
My face is an emotionless mask, and I feel nothing inside
Tears pour from my eyes, yet they offer no relief
From the pain and torment Iíve subjected myself to
Life is cruel, and Iím merely one of its foolish victims
Iíve irrevocably damaged the lives of the people who matter to me
No matter what I say or do, I can never make up for it
Iím in a dark and unstable place
I canít find the light and set myself free
Life isnít worth living with this pain Iím going through
So why not just end it all with two momentary pains?
And watch my life bleed out of this hollow shell of the person I once was.

Leave Me Alone

I want to be alone,
I donít want to see anyone,
Yet Iím not free to just roam,
Around where itís just the sun;

Acting as my luminescent guide,
Towards an uncertain destiny,
Emotions are chocking me from the inside,
I need to be free!

Iíve had just about enough,
Why canít anyone see that?
Iím expected to be strong and tough,
Why canít anyone see just how sad;

I am with all these changes,
Some of which I never wanted,
The ones I look up to are full of pain,
Instead, they come to me for comfort.

I canít take it anymore!
I just want out,
I donít get what all the fights are for,
If all they ever leave you with is more doubt.

Go solve your own problems,
I want nothing to do with them,
Donít hold me accountable if youíve fallen,
Or I might just say ďitís the end!Ē

Going Somewhere

if you can ask the question
who is actively loving you
and you can't come up
with a single name
then you are unloved

ask yourself about real love
Real love needs to be active
real love needs to be evident
where there is no daily proof
then you are not being  loved

if you can ask yourself the question
who is actively caring for me
and you cant come up
even one a solitary name
then nobody is caring for you

Caring has to be more than
the occasional phone call
or a once a month visit
it's daily and always active
if you can't come up with
a single solitary name
the nobody cares about you

if you ask yourself the question
do you have any real friends
who are with you, good or ill
and you cant come up with
a single solitary name
then you are friendless

nobody in the real world to talk to?
to go for coffee and a catch up?
to go to the pub for the same?
to go walking in nature?
to make you laugh or smile?
if you can't come up with a
single solitary name
then you are alone

if you can ask yourself the question
is there anyone there to support
you when you are in real need
to give you a real warm hug
if you can't come up with
a single solitary name
you will always be sad

real support takes time and effort
never making you feel like a burden
Like an inconvenient job of work
like a charity case waste of space
what if professional won't help
if you are being left on your own
to cope alone
then you are unsupported

if you ask yourself the question
if I am unsupported, always sad,
always alone, lonely, friendless,
nobody supporting or caring, not
being loved, positively unloved
if you are all these things then
a Teddy bear's hug will not suffice
nor will a warm mug of chicken soup
you are terminally lost

if you ask yourself the question
what will happen after you die
ask yourself how long it would
affect anyone you know
and you start counting in days
and weeks some even hours
then its maybe, just maybe
time you weren't here

"The End"

The end of all things
Will come without warning
The oceans have been bleeding oil for millenia
The skies have been choked with gray fumes
We're all going to die for what we've done
And nobody understands that it's gonna be soon.
The hand of God
So ultimate and absolute
Will rain fire on us
As we burn some more fossil fuels.
It's coming and we're humming
To silence the guilt
Dropping bombs on each other
While our children read teen fiction and go to school
The end is here.
We've been fucked for too long
Why didn't we listen
When was it too late to turn back?
Probably eons ago.
When the first man set flame
To warm the people he cared for.
