my muse comes to me in various forms.

sometimes she is a warm sunny day, a halo of flowers adorning her head. sunlight glistening against pale freckled skin, singing the songs of spring. she looks at me with a smile, taking my hand to show me the beauty of everything around me. she kisses my head, filling it with inspiration.

more often than not, my muse comes as a shadow.

red eyes that burn into my soul, a being that billows smoke with every step it takes. it comes to me late at night, when i am most vulnerable. my mind is racing, my heart throbbing against my ribcage. i am scared. i tremble when it comes closer, but i cannot help but stare directly into the eyes that evoke the darkest thoughts of my mind. it forces my hand to try and convey how i feel, who i am, and why i'm here.

my muses coexist, they both work together to make the words flow from ink to paper. though my work can be messy, i still find that some weight is lifted from my shoulders as i write. they don't leave me. they simply exist.

So can you put that in the form of a Poem , Starfading ?

Look at other entries , then edit and post your reworked submission...

I believe fully you can structure it in a way more in alignment with

a poem...Thank you in advance !

to serve the muse

Surely it's a crime to demand a ransom a heart can ill-afford to absorb
For a muse to inspire illicit desires to flow through the tunnels of your rhythmical orb
What sentence can be imposed on one who would provoke a lonely poet to unwisely write
Words into sentences that imprison the soul to mate alone every solitary night
Hidden in darkness behind cold walls that conceal her hypnotic symmetry
Teasing into agony with her tempting verse in song and erotic poetry
Setting down a beat while setting him up for defeat with cynical impunity
To be inherently unworthy of the bondage between two souls in passionate unity
There is no greater loneliness than loving an angel you can never touch
The cost paid in measured pain levees a tax that is inherently too much
To witness her purity in the arms of another lover while imagining she's yours
Watching through the crystal glass once she's closed her fine French doors
This moment of clarity has ascended to enlighten the path that one must choose
Stealing Cupid's bow and arrow then taking aim to execute a malevolent muse

the Verse Within Her Eyes

The muse arrives in a stirring dream
Soft silken hair aglow in deep fiery sunset red
With crescent moon beaming she whispers sensual verse
Reciting seductive poesy from behind her sultry eyes

Convincing my heart of her purity
If this be not true love please let me die within this lie
For this feels more real than any petal I have touched
Flowering in vivid imagery, stroking rainbows into reality

In humble gratitude I give pure thanks
To have been inspired by her intricate spell
impassioned by the delicate touch of creative revelation
On canvas more smooth than springtime's slowly melting sheet of ice

Oh the fierce lyric spilling from my soul
Turning me from a lonesome gentle heartbeat
Into the blood of love coursing through hungry arteries of ink
Until releasing the pulsing flow onto the page of poetry

Shielded Beneath Your Tapestry

"Shielded Beneath Your Tapestry"

When you peer so deeply into my heart through your deep blue oceans
Through the waves of red that drift across your lovely haunting gaze
I feel your eyes peeking transparently through my ancient wary soul
I wonder if you're aware how my pulse rages to overflow your rivers
To flood your deepest valleys and rise above your mist-coated peaks
Ascending the rocky hills above sheer cliffs and slippery slopes
Can you see through me across the miles and mountains in between?
Would you create with your artistry the scenery that I can see in fantasy?
Weave me a graphic tapestry to protect the pages of my lonely poetry
Cover me in sketches that bring order to my forest of chaotic anarchy
Collect the scattered bones the past has littered across my barren fields
Bury my forgotten deeds and plant a growing crop of nature's fruitful seeds
Where we will till our verse in the fertile soil of our gifted reaping souls

Gardeness

Keytooth thorns twist a clockwise ignition
an irrigation - floral friction in bloom

Saline soil holds me
and hushes the rush;
greetings - fleeting
gush upon the blushing bud

~

Nursery chorales hum new hymnals
I bind them...storing seedlings into scored earth
newborn sounds
threshed from her gardenbed
planted into poem

Nubile shoots spring nude
to carpet in my consciousness
Sprouts nurse on notions

She beautifies my whereabouts

Okay !

So , I am contacting all judges today ;

Already started , but have some errands to attend to ,

and will be back in about 3 - 4 hrs...by this evening I

will have asked all to read everyone's works , and in

three days , Saturday morn , I am hoping to have

narrowed these 6 pages of submissions down to 10

or so...from there it should take another day or so ,

to narrow down to 5 or less...then I shall decide from

there , and we should have the final answer between

Monday - Tuesday...

There are so many great entries , and I for one , want

to give each the time they truly deserve !

I ask your patience , thank you all for all your works ,

and the time , love and energy you put in...

At this point , even I have *no* idea how this will end up !

Good fortune to all !

May The Muse Be With You !
