Ann

Ann
You left me a little over a year ago to be with another
Someone they call ‘The Father of Waters’
Do you realize how much I hurt when I look upon the face
Of the man who replaced me as your friend and lover?

But despite your betrayal, if you came walking back through my door
I'd take you in my arms, forgive you, and love you even more

It will be a little over a two years ago my love succumbed to mental illness and threw herself into the cold Mississippi. She’s gone from my life, but will forever remain in my heart.

Flybird

By tender hands,

   Placing her upon

A trembling limb,

   To be blessed by

The mercy of Him.

   Uplifting her

To hope again,

   To fly once more

To the treetops,

   To open her heart,

And let go the pain.

Written when the one I’d been with for several years called to say he’d given his heart to another for as long as she wanted it.  Just like that.

The Real Lover

His hands that no longer want to roam and discover
My body anymore do not have any problems touching
Hers. When he lays awake at night he thinks of his lover
And not me. All of the times he thinks of her clutching

The sheets and his back while I am far from his mind.
The scratches and scars he says are from the gym, not
From the times her nails dug into his skin that remind
Him of the times he made her cum. I am a blood clot

Because you never wanted me. When I smile all you can
Think of is hers. When I laugh you can just hear hers
In your head. Darling, it was not fate when you began
Thinking of a good life with her, but she is not yours

In real life. She is perfection to you while I will just
Come to realize I will be second best. You always
Think of some other girl who is not me. It took trust,
But you want to throw it away for her. She will amaze

You every single day while I am someone too boring
And vanilla. She is just the right amount of spice
And sugar that you need. The rain pouring
With questions and wondering why my price

Is cheap to you. Why do you want her over me?
You cannot breathe without her and yet you
Say that I am your life. I think she holds the key
To your heart while I am someone to just screw.

Sol Luna Endymion

It's happened again
cupid has cycled his laughing cast
Without discretion, displayed in viscous currents

One man finds a mate
through an easy game of chase the scar,
Lazy frowning and statued emotion

Her eyes sparkled in such a kindred flame
Artificially, just as the sad boy does
rebounding desperation on both parts

He as the hermit, with a minimal compassion
She played the role for all affection
Drove her half mad, cutting lonely

A last chance to see him to the dance
pupils strayed off, eating the smoke
For a couple months, I think, maybe more

Distance was death for the loving seperation
Caring is old, the premature pleasure maker
Chakra cats and Vampire disease

Chased with blood, drunk on a rhapsody
The girl dumped the filthy junkie baggage-
Humbly fornicating with a more fitting fellow

Similar in grace and taste
Aspirations and dependence on denser levels;
Red to black or black and blue

With a new foundation built
Companion demolition, scheduled for certain
Love sued the suit and Brothers close at heart

It's happened again
Cupid has cycled his laughing cast
Without discretion, displayed in viscous currents

No Physical Cheating

I am sorry if you had to keep turning to him
Instead of it being me. I know I have not been
The best in giving you all of the attention and
Love that you always deserve, full to the brim,
But what is it about him? Are his hands clean?
Does he protect your heart? He will understand

You better than I could ever do. I know that you
Are too good of a woman to physically cheat on
Me, but the emotional pain of it all is way worse.
Maybe I did not do enough to deserve you. I knew
That this was not going to work. He should fawn
Over you like he’s your number one fan. A verse

And many words that could describe his love for
You more than I could ever express. Every knot
Should be loosening not becoming tighter like
A noose around your neck. He opens every door
While I just kept you standing in the same spot
With tears running down your face. A strike

Of lightening. No one ever deserves that kind
Of pain. You deserve every smile and embrace
Because a woman like you should get what
You always give. I hope that he will remind
You every day how special you are. Your face
Should be filled with light like an angel and shut

Out the darkness like what I brought to your life.
You deserve to be someone’s center and wife.

Because he loved and only loved!

She couldn't understand
what he wrote
because it wasn't just a love letter

He never disclosed
what he wrote
because it wasn't just a poem

He secluded
to avoid her thought
but it wasn't just a thought

He lost
the so-called battle of love
because he never considered it a battle....

...I don't want these hands...

...oh...
no I don't

And I would hacksaw
gnaw
each nocuous
nightingale nail
from it's shoals
it's risque riverbed
it's fleshy fitted
fingerhead
to backtrack down
every shirtless back
they've dared - in dream
to roam
and comb their
shameful handfuls
'round

...no...
I don't want these eyes
my erring
staring
glaring pirate pair of iris
spyglass emeralds
unsettled in their
socket settings
roving rifles
of fiendish green

...you should know...
...you should know...
they should be blown
in whole
out the back of my skull
bloodstones from a blue whale blowhole

I don't want this heart
throwing thoughts of
men
like Campbell's cans
clattering into shopping carts

---

Vagrant vices
splice my volition
exponentially

pages pile up
miles of onion skin bible
paper
choky cellars stocked and locked
X's scored
on my bottomless
clipboard;
tabloid trespasses
dyed laceleaf red

Reverentially penned
leaflets laced with lechery
rustle - roughed-up moth wings
rouge with regret...
...and it's clear
that they'd burn
cleaner
than my newsprint conscience
