Untitled Poem About Time and Dreams

Do I wait for my dream or do I go out and chase it?
Maybe I haven’t put in all the work like I should,
Am I just hoping for something to magically happen?
Because wishing without acting is just no good.

Do I linger on the thoughts of what should’ve been?
Or what could’ve been or what I should have done,
Waiting around when the clock just keeps on ticking,
Because as they say, time really waits for no one.

Then again I’ve always been a little restless and listless,
Writing goals down then halfheartedly following through,
Wondering how and why and where the time went,
Feeling pessimistic and nostalgic in this dire rue.

But I can’t just sit here amid vapid languid hopes,
Asking my dreams, how long shall I wait for you?
Time is of the essence, there’s no time like the present,
To chase the dream and make it come true.

Recognize

Lie here alone emotionally weak
Consumed by memories
My past wounds forever run so deep
I wait while you fade
The weight of my world was in the palm of your hand
So explain to me your master plan I can’t understand
Don’t have a clue why you’d do what you did to me
You were my life my whole world my reason to be
Daddy so strong stand by me side
But still I wait for you confused and no one told me why
You’re not there when I’m scared
Learn to fly but you’re not there
Memories begin to fade
Mothers more than just a name
Someday return and try to regain
The love I lost for you is replaced
By hate and guiltless shame
Pain because I don’t know why you ever left me
Hate because I realized you never let me
Live just a normal life because you scarred me
Emotionally inside so recognize
Well time has passed and now you realize
When you play the game well it comes with a price
I recognize what I needed to
Had my Daddy’s love
Why the fuck I need you…

Tick Tock

"COPYRIGHT"
WINSTON JAY JONES
SEPTEMBER 11, 2016
TicK TocK

ONE
You know tomorrow does, as it will do,
Today did what it wanted to.
When yesterday came,
it changed the game.
Yesterday came, yet we're still the same.
Time is a chance,
a reason and a way.
Always posing its question,
"Will you stand in your way?"
Why stand in your way, again today?

CHORUS
Another tick.
another tock.
Another day we messed (€uck€d) it up.
We can't unwind the errors of today.
Why even try to wish them away.
Lets live a life,
Our walk through time
Tick is me and Tock will be you.
Time will do what we tell it to.
We'll pick up our pieces.
One at a time.
We'll savor their flavor as we reset our minds.

TWO
Just for you, I'll freeze time.
Will that help soothe your mind?
We won't listen to tick,
and let's forget about tock.
If they can't find our clock.
They can't make us stop.  (mess -£u@k)
Let's do our thing.
Taste the Joy Of Life,
It lies between.
All those ticks and every tock.
Life can be lived on a clock.

THREE
Yesterday came and it played our game.
Now Today might do what we tell it to.
Then Tomorrow is their promise to me and you.
One more tick and another tock.
This is all that Time serves up.
Life's a big gift, in a small piece of time.
Life's a big slice.
Served one tick at a time.
Another tick,
just one more tock.
Tomorrow's promise that Time (Life) won't stop.

--fountainhead valve--/

The breeze blows a slow dance
It walks across the sky
The mist floats a soul path
Link of water to higher math...

A fire of circles ring the moon
Was time or space torn into?
Did the heavens fall?
Or our hearts ascend renewed...

We crossed the altars beast
And left the soul at peace
The towers stand on either side
A pole for each and each a sum...

Melodic focus the mind's eye
See a light burn a hole in the sun
Weaving insight nothing being spun
A union of both to make the one...

Dual role to play, our life engage
Birth of three, the parents relay
Divine the child, holy matrix made
A composite temple in us is laid...

Platonic shaped internal halls
A system of geometry draws
We watch the bird commit to fly
But we never see it fall....

empty bed

Where I am it is cold
Not even sun’s embers
Have thought to warm the sky

I woke with you, alone
Hard thoughts would find no rest
My hands seek out relief

To wake and feel your weight
With every subtle breath
And heat beyond the sun

Sands by the Gaslight

Morning brought us cold leaves
         swaying in the spring wind.
Time, she changes seasons again.
Dancing in magnolia trees
         on azalea spun breezes,
She is always the end.
Borderless sky,
Sunlit fingers lost against
                  her bright sigh
                  of grass and flowers--
         when did it begin?
Second after second into hours,
These years make graves of mountains,
Which binding her vowels into songs
         could never prevent.

He Clung To the Echo...

He clung
to the echo of her last word
and waited for her return

Confident at the start
anxious somewhat later

Desperate - yet, still hoping -
long after time stood still for him

Too hard for his feeble mind
to process the countless posibilities
of a whispered "later"...
