Tool 10,000 Days has my heart and soul recently. I loathed this album when it first came out because of all the bullshit and opinionated haters. It wasn't the bands fault. They're used to that sort of reaction from the un-contemplating...

I've also understood 10,000 Days since the boot without knowing every single process the band members went through to write the fucking album. I like factoids but that kind of study the know-it-alls claim to understand is for those who have the ability to travel to a mysterious secret ROCK in the Nevada desert and those whom can study super-secret-alchemical-math-equations in algorithmic fashionings colliding in drum patterns: which to be proven: one must also travel to a sacred "not-a-church-somewhere-in-a-foreign-country-but-kinda-looks-like-one-from-photos-people-shouldn't-know-about-but-have-seen-or-have-had-access-too-somehow"

Fucking cheaters.

People over look the darkness in TOOL even within the entire 10,000 days album (and even from the beginning with the original Opiate E.P.) and try to jump straight into the trip of the bands vibe, and that's also frustrating. I can't help but bitch about that.

It's not all TOOL fans.

I think its fucking hilarious so many TOOLigans have seen TOOL live so many times when they've been playing a VERY similar stage set for such a long time before FEAR INOCULUM. Where the sets were pretty damn similar and at most performances damn near entirely similar EVERY FUCKING time (with very few songs performed here and there that were played there or not... THINK ABOUT HOW SMALL THEIR MUSIC CATALOG IS... HOW LONG their songs are...and HOW YOUNG not in terms of physical age but is in relation to the music scene as in terms of exposure and wider acceptance!)

Yet I guarantee the general masses who've attended Tool concerts and those fans whom have only wetted there feet with Lateralus and 10,000 Days on repeat - are currently wondering exactly what the fuck TOOL actually did to their brains!

WHICH IS FUCKING HILARIOUS!
This puts the band including the "original" bassist in the best situation ever!!!! I'm in love with peoples slo-mo in this regard to just stand at a TOOL concert over and over and over again and space out because they've heard the same songs so many times their mind enters some sort of tool limbo void of nonlistening and nonabsorbance.

They are damn dedicated, that's for sure.

They be all like "What did tool do to muh brain?!"  Hoping to drool and the drool isn't flowing.

I imagine curious and concerned fans finally mustering up the bravery to email Blair Mckenzie Blake (BMB)... and just fucking up along the way on how to word the question they need to ask. They gonna use the L word; and that's a no no no no no no no.

ESPECIALLY TO BLAIR.

...
Even during the Lateralus tours the sets were pretty damn similar. Especially during the last couple stints... It was the same songs just without the 10,000 days songs... because 10,000 days wasn't recorded and released to the public yet.

Yet even there stood the dedicated Tool following. Trying to find enough drugs to make the concert an experience like it was the first time; or as an attempt to recreate their first full length playthrough epiphany of Lateralus when it really hit them DEEPLY.
...
Internet keyboard warriors wanna be like "This is my detailed hypothesis on EXACTLY WHAT I THINK 10,000 days is about!!! And here's my take and here's all the sources I'm gonna list... message me for the URLS!!!!!"

When...

10,000 Days is fairly simple and straight-forward. It's not a fucking math equation. It's not a super complex puzzle meant to teach you how to ascend your spirit and reach the heavens above.

The entire album is dedicated to Maynard's dead Mother. "Judith" Marie. It wasn't just the singer - Maynard who dedicated the album to her... It was the entire band and the entire TOOL BAND family. She was quite an example of a human being who was paralyzed most of her life and could literally do nothing but wait patiently for someone to help her do most of everything, including use the bathroom. Yea, which by the way, Maynard even helped A LOT with, being he's soooooooo rich and soooooo famous. Pfft.

Then theres the drama and resistance I get from any alleged TOOL fan I meet online when I bring up the TOOLBAND's website's writer and newsletter genius. They say Blair Mckenzie Blame - (BMB) has a huge ego and thinks of himself as a celebrity. Nothing is more contrary. He has no ego personality in the way people claim he does. He may me a little assholey... but everyone in the bands circle has that side to them... even the band... even Danny Carey... Even Adam... Even Justin... and the "original" Bassist Paul...

That said... even when I bring up Blair's other time spent away from TOOL writing articles and additions to Occult publications and Occult websites; People become offended!!!! As if everything they just said and agreed to about the band had NO RELATION to the Occult at all. I anticipate this response.

My online stalking is predictable... and I've been trying to get the fuck away from them but they cling to my socials and person like a fucking chihuahua humping my leg.

But yeah.... 10,000 Days. Darkly beautiful and sad in the Blackest unique tool colored way. Thats the best I got... There are other words floating around in my brain, but I hear you bitching about the length of this post already....

Give it a listen... again... and try to not think about Maynard having actual angel wings and singing with a halo over his head. It's prose, but In my opinion, its more about the sentiment for his mother. It's a metaphor for HER LIFE.

</3. <3.

Anyways... yeah. There new album is fucking fire.

Maynard may sell you some caduceus wines at a fair rate with such a suggestion.

Perhaps if played off of his cassette. Perhaps in a 1990 sierra......

Hmmm.. no no... So many times listened through, like with Tool.... But then.... Passenger Hits with him as a feat, stealing the show.....

Hmm ...

I think the feeling this morning goes on the route of Anathema .. yes....

Perhaps The Lost Song... The Lost Song Part 2???
Yeah that's the feeling for this morning.
