I stood alone beside the gate
the fields were parched
the grain was waste
the crows they laughed, not soared the lark
On the page there grew no yield
`twas baren plain, untended field
and each day brought no sign of rain
no crop to harvest and sustain
the fields were parched
the grain was waste
the crows they laughed, not soared the lark
On the page there grew no yield
`twas baren plain, untended field
and each day brought no sign of rain
no crop to harvest and sustain

Your decision respected, slip -- sometimes it's right to take the plunge, sometimes not. All the best either way, Josh.

And yet, such beautiful poetry was born. . .
You will be missed this year, slip. xo

I, too, will miss you, Slip. Remember 2021? That year, at the end of April, I invited a post-NaPo Challenge, and you were the only participant who had the fuel to take the plunge. You and I braved it together, and, at the end of May (we stopped 30 days in), we had both written an additional 30 poems.
That made it 60 poems in 60 days. So why should Zero be the new hero?

I remember that. I almost joined up on that but I was a bit busy and wasn't sure if I'd be able to complete it.
Also.. I'm itching to write my 1st napo poem. I have had this prompt for about a month now and I want this it to be my 1st napo write for sure 😬.

I am low-key panicking this year. I have no theme and the muse has been MIA for a year. Lol it’s gonna be interesting to see what comes out.
I am super excited to read your first piece! I 🖤 the enthusiasm!!

Yeah, I'm with you. No theme, no plan, no ideas. Aaaaaaaaagggghhhhh!!!! If I spell out my mental screams in 50 unique ways, will that count as a poem?? 😬

Well, that sounds like a solid poem indeed.
No plan in hand,
I stand here with no themes.
I scream out words
Many not heard.
Is there anyone out here?
I fear I am alone
Do I even own rights
to my thoughts tonight?
....
And so on, right?
