Ms. Fusco-Jackson’s relatives also believe that speedier test results could have made a difference in her care.

“They didn’t treat her as a confirmed case because everything is so delayed,” Ms. Paradiso Fodera said. “It’s a big bureaucracy. The testing result time is important.”

US government is preparing for coronavirus pandemic that could last up to 18 months and 'include multiple waves of illness'

(CNN)Nearly two months since the first US coronavirus case, the federal government is now preparing for a pandemic that could last up to 18 months or longer and "include multiple waves of illness," a report obtained by CNN shows.

Hospitals have already sounded the alarm on quickly vanishing supplies as the outbreak in the US shows no signs of slowing -- in just 24 hours, cases soared by more than 40%. [ . . .]

Coronavirus: Asian nations face second wave of imported cases

South Korea, China and Singapore are among the Asian countries facing a second coronavirus wave, spurred by people importing it from outside.

China, where the virus first emerged, confirmed it had no new domestic cases on Wednesday, for the first time since the outbreak began, a major milestone.

But it reported 34 new cases among people recently returned to China.

Singapore also reported 47 new cases, of which 33 were imported - 30 of them returned Singapore residents.

South Korea saw a jump in new cases on Thursday with 152, though it is not clear how many were imported.

A new cluster there is centred on a nursing home in Daegu, where 74 patients have tested positive.

Some thoughts, because the cost of overreaction is looking more like underwear poo bomber inside the water closet nonsense.... in other words ....problem reaction $$$$solution$$$$

I want to know about the resulting crime and suicide rates.
Also, why do politicians keep insinuating this was a bio attack?
Are diplomats that stupid?
Why would giving that idea any air time NOT pander to those seeking to haunt and stress our economy covertly?

It's scary out there. Particularly because the country is at its most vulnerable ( or pretty much close to it. . .)

Life is good. Malaria anti viral drug on the way. toilet paper production up 20%. There's monetary relief coming. Respirator production ramping up. Cases spike (increased testing) but death rate shows no similar spike. It's sunny and near 80 degrees here. Spring has arrived. Life is good.

That's the view from my world.
