Who can come up with the most original reason to ban competition in poetry
dkzksaxxas_DanielX is the sole judge, jury, and executioner for this competition. Comments SUPPORTING competition will be disqualified.
No Need for Competitions
Good poetry is worth repeating
No merit in just competing.
Poems that appeal to the mind
Last forever you will find.
A diverse range of styles and subject
Will with the intellect connect.
No point in merit ranking
Just give the poet a thanking.
Every reader has a different preference
And will treat favorites with reverence.
Competitions are so irrelevant,
They just make winners arrogant.
No merit in just competing.
Poems that appeal to the mind

Compete... Absolutely be better. Find meaning and spin, with delivery in letters that without intuitive creation resolute, become nothing advanced in either origin or constructs of mind that pollute. My thought never better than my own, originality befalls judgement when perceptively grown. Even now as I still aspire to be seen and reveered. I simply give my best in regard to satisfy the opponent in myself that cheers. Bravo good sir, in this precision collision of two views that are pointless you see. For it is in the midst of these, that I have given gold to the artist that I be. Inspiration of my own given thru word, in hopes of igniting inspiration in the bees and birds. My whole poetic vision, stemming from limitations broken and left to be, from elimination of perceptions passed down to me. Every poem written in time, in my eyes, uniquely first place. Because creation is beautiful self portrayal. I will see the beauty in you, and what you create, should you return this gift finding inspiration, nothing more upon both used and clean slates. Perception as unique as original thought, but ultimitely gives way to appease the self thru what has been appraised value within you. Bias always bends purely subjective thought, so how can another truly judge me, when you have seen what I may have naught. Creativity in it's original outlets, should only give more to you in ways of inspiration, giving then more to the pool for adoration,. Such is beautiful uncompetetive self creation. In competing only with yourself for yours is in fact all that you give for your own relation. Buuuuut, this is my take and I could be wrong, is what I tell the little guy inside with his doubts and his gong. I calm him in ways by letting him know.... You are my audience, give and take as you wish. But I leave here now, knowing this.. I can only do better with more creativity, and abstract thought, but then that's my sight of the best poet in me, to be sought. Not yours to be bought.

no need to judge who sheds the reddest blood
or pause to test who bears the sharpest quill
it is enough we drizzle like a flood
when on life’s canvas kindred spirits dwell
compare me not to you by shade of ink
or by my frequency of pen in hand
my penny thoughts may teeter on the brink
of eloquence you cannot understand
what were the faith of lyrics sharp like swords
reviling fellow inks from fellow poets
should enmity wax strong on rival words
that take a sacred thought and strive to kill it
ask dup to ban all competitions
verse trafficking should never stain the page
of writers who heal souls of vile afflictions
let’s save our bloody inks from sabotage

Writing Contest
These writing contests are sick trying to see who swings the biggest dic-
-tionary and vocabulary to show others what you got,
You actually should not bargain with those who have thicker jargon,
Unless you like to make everything hot when it’s really not.
And when you think you did well but then misunderstood the spell
The rules and the concept the gracious host was trying to dictate,
Some walked away defeated because they thought when they competed
They felt they were the best but tried and failed then got bent out of shape.
Is this a race? I raise the question, it feels like a confession,
What’s good, what’s bad, what’s sad, what’s mad, what is effective poetry?
Is the ink I think to spill ill enough with skill in sync fulfilled
To sink my quill that acts like an axe about to cut down a tree?
In a sense these competitions are like virtual exhibitions,
Marionettes doing pirouettes dancing curious to see who’s next,
Who’s in the trophy chase? Fill a case in the realm of cyber space,
But for some it constantly avoids them it can give a complex.

the kind where plungers are required, lest the bowl overflow.
Can’t one just pick a winner, themself, or
with a few friends?

Or better yet—run one so wildly popular, it gets
5 million friggin’ entries
