Poetry Contest Description
Write a poem about love and candy.
The thought of Valentine's Day without candy is devastating. Perish the thought, because I work at a candy factory and I'd be out of a job.
The winner of this competition, if they live in North America, will receive a box of candy. If the winner is from overseas, they'll receive $10.00 USA through PayPal.
All entries will be judged in a blind competition by some of my coworkers. So, please no lurid erotic writes. Instead, make your poem as romantic as possible.
Note; I'll be presenting the entries to the judges without any reference to name, avatar, gender or nationality to make it as fair as possible.

I'm going to try best. I have five people who show an interest in poetry to do the judging. I'll be copying and pasting all entries minus profile information to hard copy. Then give them a few days to select the winner.
The Willy Wonkas of Minnesota will make the decision. I wont provide them any input on what poems I like.

Candy Particulars
Set aside the lands of milk
and honey
(for now)
and enter with me
to places that flow
with milk and chocolate.
We shall skip across
hills of caramel filled
delights, as
we taste of our manna
from the cocoa heavens!
(just not the ones with the yukky orange centers.)
Ah, my love
take my hand
as in Solomon’s Song, though
I am blackened not from sin
but from rivers of molten
chocolate.
(just not dark chocolate, because that’s horribly bitter.)
Away we shall go, fleet
of foot, hearts entwined
to Cana
where we shall marry
and the Lord awaits
to turn water into syrups
that fill our hollowed chocolate shells
embracing
the inner fruit.
(but not coconut—I hate coconut; it’s gross.)
Sing with me, O, love!
And be mine forever
in the eyes of God, as
we button down each chapter
with nonpareils
securing a lifetime of
love and chocolate.
(just nothing with raspberry—I can’t stand raspberry, either.)

Valentine's Day
Love comes in many ways
Sentiments that you care
Together enjoying the days
A little romance in the air
Perhaps it's just a look
Or a passionate kiss
Or that beautiful poetry book
Romantic things that are bliss
Those wonderful bear hugs
Massages with warm oil
You're each other's drug
You both like to spoil
A box of chocolates is sweet
Or a romantic dinner out together
Sharing a sweet treat
With your hot and sexy lover
Valentine's Day is near
Will you spoil her all night
Each of you is very dear
Her happiness is your delight
Champagne and a warm fire
Snuggled in a blanket works too
In that moment, you're each other's desire
An opportunity to say "I love you"
Or is it just a day for retailers
And you hate this shit
Lots of hoopla with wholesalers
A holiday that's meant for twits
It's really nice to be adored
Everyday and on Valentine's Day
It's something to look towards
To be loved in many ways
Valentine's Day is a special day
Mark it on your planner
Even though it might be cliche
It's really nice manners

Love and Candy
A special Dove has reconnected
Our Cordial Cherries
Our Conversational Hearts
Has been perfected
Years of laughter
Mummified in Snickers
Departs our Milky Way
For Twix and Twizzlers
We GODIVA the boxes
Both square and heart shape
Sharing Hugs and Kisses
Wrapped in décor debate
Truffles mirage as rainbowed seas
Assorted Chocolates bend us to knees
We gallivant in Mounds of Almond Joy
Skiing down mountains of Sweet Tarts
As Skittles deploy
Happy and merry we Nestle
Alongside Gummy Bears
Shedding to the wind unwanted fears
We serenade Venus and Mars
With romantic cards
Skipping on Kit Kats
To appease the guards
We hold each other close within our arms
Locking lips together
Melted chocolate charms
Tattoos of our affection
Shall always brand me
For you’re my endless fountain
Of Love and Candy

Sweet Sugar
I crave for a treat,
a snack so delicious and sweet,
don't judge...
I have always had a sweet tooth.
My mother has always told me
"all your teeth's soon gonna fall off"
From your sugary obsessive sprees.
But I was hooked - and glad to be.
If anything was sweeter than those sugary delicacies,
It must have been alien,
Extra terrestial dimension.
November I knew your name,
We boarded the same plane.
My snack bar I was gladly munching.
I smiled with my brown coloured teeth,
you didn't judge... You smiled back.
I offered you from my bounty
Without hesitation you ate it all.
A candy freak.
December we had dinner,
Spent more time together,
I confessed my love and
You were in love too.
January I met your family,
You met mine also.
Now it's February,
My love for sweet desserts' stronger,
But even stronger is my love for you.
You are my chocolate, vanilla, strawberry,
the flavour that fills my belly.
If I have found anything sweeter than candy
It's you my sweet sugar,
I love you.

Heart Day❤️
( a Sonnet )
The challenge of this very special year
When many others greet it with a shrug
For me and mine the meaning is so clear
Today to give our heartstrings each a tug
It’s small considering it’s of the heart
When separated by the flooding miles
That inundate and split the roads apart
And still communicate despite the trials
But as I’m grateful for my little cell
As distance shrinks a bit to hear his coo
To celebrate traditions we know well
When it’s for love we practice what to do
We set aside the chocolate & the sweets
To trade to have him sample all my treats

Specially for you
the day i said i love you
was Special for you.
your'e beauty was exalted,
your attitude wasn't to
sweet
and not to salted.
the hugs like soft marshmallows
in cold mornings
makes the coffee more meaningful and
exciting .
the beat of your heart like cherokee drums
in the evenings warm bed
and on valentines day
you
smiled
just like the same day
i told you
that
i love you.

Sweet Box
For Valentines my honey gave me a sweet box,
(Yum)
Full of delicious chocolate treats,
Along with a little bit of silly talk,
The kind you enjoy while you eat.
It was a divine assortment to say the least,
(Heavenly)
The chewy caramels were like a dream,
Especially the fudge and the almond royals,
I fell in love with the milk vanilla nut cream.
And the way some of them were bathed,
(Ooh)
Rich and silky smooth especially in the middle,
It gave my taste buds a dance of decadence,
The puffs, the truffles and the cashew brittle.
My honey and I shared a box this Valentines,
(Sigh)
We experienced a variety of taste and décor,
And just when I thought that I couldn’t,
On this special day I love her even more.

What a wonderful submissions. Thank you everyone for participating.
As I stated in the challenge discription, I'm going to let some of my fellow confectioners judge this competition.
In order to be fair, I'm going to copy each poem minus any personal information including gender and nationality to make this a blind competition. Including devulging to the judges the name of the poetry site where this comp was presented.
This might take a little time, so please be patient. I'll anounce the winner as soon as one is selected so subscribe to this thread if you already haven't.
