Time and Tonic

Lightning forked and the dark sky's depart
so mourning the treasure lost to your heart

eyes cast down and head so bowed
when their inspiration spired to the clouds

and their imprint was so embossed
when the shell that was left came to a stop

was their life written in invisible ink
or a rainbow captured that made you blink

was there and gone refracted so soon
memory's clemency like a medicine spoon

each day surround you in life's living room

The Words We Tell Eachother

So the moment has come
Complete tranquility
Illusion of beauty
Crumbling agility
And nothing is gone completely
Which almost is worse

You left today
And I stayed waiting
You forgot something
And I still stayed waiting
Hoping you didn’t notice the tears in my eyes when you came back in wondering
Where your things were

Goodbye you say
See you soon you say
You say many things
And I do too
I don’t know you say
Take care of you, I will you say
I say it back yet I still don’t know if either of us is doing that correctly

I want you to know
I say
In my head
As I lay in your bed alone
wondering where else I have to go
Its dark now and i know I must walk home
But I can’t help and wonder if I stayed here would I be more whole
And you asked if I was okay
And I thought I was at the time
I ignored it all because I really did feel fine
I’m tired of letting out my sadness to you because I just want your smiles
Maybe we both grow farther when I grow fonder
Falling snow
But I’m still thinking of summer
How do you know your doing the right things

I wonder

A Rose in heaven

Never would I think in a million years I would have you...want...or need you
Broken in despair I lost my voice...my reasons to exist
Alcohol and cigarettes were my comfort and you saw that. Instead of being like the others you fed into my darkness and dug unearth my light.
Days go by I didn't eat, didn't sleep...couldn't stop thinking...
But you stood by me force fed me with knowledge, love and a shoulder to rest my weariness when my tears were all cried out.
I RECOVERED!!!!!...ripping all bondage from my limbs and soar the skies.
Not for long, I returned and you were no longer there...my heart was broken when you left knowing I won't be seeing you anytime soon but you will always live in my  spirit- Rose

A Poem to a Dying Friend

What can I say to you dear old friend,
In this, your darkest hour of need,
That we hurt in our hearts to see you like this,
In your death bed as we pray and we plead.
But it is our selfishness why we sorrow,
That you will not be with us anymore,
But at least all of your worldly sufferings,
Will be left behind at heaven’s door.
What words of comfort can I offer you?
Say for the long friendship we’ve had,
For the fond memories I carry with me,
That even the happy ones now seem sad.
All that I wish is that your pain subside,
And find relief of those around you,
Who grieve for what’s to be inevitable,
Because of the love we feel for you.
Do I dare hold your hand one last time?
And look in your eyes with smiles and tears,
Thanking you for the time we shared,
Thankful we remained friends all these years.
And as your eyes begin to see another light,
And the strength in your body begins to fade,
My soul feels the cold cold shadow,
That all of our prayers cannot persuade.
As you slip in into the darkness,
The heavy anguish sets in to the room,
Blows out the light in the candle,
From the time it was lit in the womb.
I grieve with an aching inconsolable heart,
For the passing of an old friend,
But I remain hopeful when my time comes,
I may be able to see my friend again.

bird

a sleep had set in me
indefinitively

when you were already
bargaining my extension
mistaking that last
spritely spurt I exuded
as was gotten crushed
beyond any thresholds

you couldn’t have stopped this
in all your gravity spread

will wait for you
in the beyondness
where dreams breathe
as words
