SCREAM IT FOR THE WORLD TO HEAR
Education For All
I demand an appropriate education
for all those with special needs
administrators of pedagogy
I see ignoring student’s pleas
I realise modified instruction
requires teachers to differentiate
but to consider it as unfair
makes me justifiably irate
If one had no legs to stand
I would not command their walking
one should not mandate a write
based on simple talking
They know that one plus one is two
but maybe not the square route of eight
to demean amid their peers
such shame does not abate
Instead of outlining weakness
why not focus on their strengths
an instructor’s role is to teach
inasmuch, to any length
Toss out these standards tests
claiming to evaluate worth
when Maslow’s hierarchy is required
to assess needs not met since birth

Come to us to the bottom
Through all these years can't understand
Why do some people need to be there -
On the bottom and pulling you closer
Every your joy to burn and get tossed
There are no bad people but how
Can someone want to put you down
Everything about you to criticise
Leave humiliation inside you lie?
Not possible to share but need to hide
Any event of you daily life
So you won't be brought down to knees
Soul doesn't heal fast like bones
broken pieces
Yet same thing from year to year
Never happiness but only fear
You can see on their faces constant
Will they find out one day what's
important?
Might be easy to say "oh, leave it"
and forget
Close the door behind with no regret
But how can you easily do that
When all around you want you down and sad?
Why do some people need to be there -
