The Comet And The Phoenix
Have you ever witnessed a comet?
Hurtling across an onyx sky?
Out-shining billions
of stars and galaxies
quilting the heavens,
knowing where she came from,
unsure of her terminus,
relentless in her trajectory.
Her luminous train fluidic
as a space-dust wedding dress;
Shedding encumbrances
imposed for an age,
the beauty of her tragedy,
hugged as the corona
of a fading sun.
During the precipice of her decent,
crashing through the ozone
of an alien world,
impacting its surface

Waste(d) waters
Gently, as the river flows,
Crystal clear hydration like a dream of light.
But it has secret poison that is also clear as glass as it flows intwined
So I pull out my canteen,
On this hiking excursion.
and I filter the dreams.
As I gasp from my thirst again.
Gotta keep my head clear.
And my freshwater too.
So I lie down to rest on my journey.
Slowly falling asleep safe and sound for now.
Until I thirst again.

Straight Back to It.
My Arctic Sunrise is nigh.
To think
that all along
–I still had it.
It wasn't the bottle (yet)
But I pour mine out.
Clambering from my insular chamber
my being is
embraced by the pale yellow light of the
northern sun.
Though I stand a mere shivering 132 lbs.,
I'm washed over with a certain solidity,
Fortitude.
"one must imagine Sisyphus happy, eh?"
I pandiculate,
my fingertips scraping the clouds as
my skin pulls
taut
over my ribcage
