I am just like anyone else really.  I have a great job and a great family and I couldn't be happier.  Yet poetry offers a dark part of me a way to be expressed.  I write as way of getting know that "dark passenger" which in turns helps me to recognize that man in the mirror.  But what never fails to surprise me is how scared I am, of me.  

I tend to try to hide from my own work, rarely choosing to share, living in a perpetual state of denial of a darkness I know I can't control for long.  The things I write are undeniably a part of me but they don't define me and certainly don't control me.
