Closing My Eyes
1.
The blue elm tree
near at hand and
the light on the
hill in the distance
and the red bare clay
are before me, as I
sit in the sun and
huge blue and purple
fish swim past me in
the dark of my empty
mind. This sea that
opens/closes within
me as soon as I close
my eyes.
2.
Delightful darkness,
delightful warmth,
shining on a world
that, for all I care,
has already ended.
