I Wish You Knew

You have absolutely no idea how much you mean to me.
How you make my heart sing when I see your face,
How you brighten my world with just your smile.
I have never felt so strongly for anyone as I do for you.
At night, when I lay in my bed alone, you’re all that I think about.
Before I slumber I always imagine that you are next to me,
And I am falling asleep in your arms.
Every time a love song plays on the radio,
You’re the first one to come to my mind,
But you are always on my mind.
I have tried ridding my head of your essence,
And nothing will make you leave.
In every little thing I do, you are never absent from my thoughts.
I can no longer concentrate on the things in front of me;
My subconscious is off daydreaming with you.
Your name is scribbled all over my papers;
My notebooks are filled to the brim with poems of you.
You’re in my dreams at night, you are my dream.
I suppose you are always present inside my head
Because I never see you outside of it.
Rarely will I see you, but when I do, I can no longer breathe.
You are beautiful, inside and out.
Your smile sends chills up my spine;
It electrifies every nerve in my body until I am numb with pure bliss.
The way your whole face lights up with happiness,
Every feature on your face becomes that of an angel’s.
The very second our hands touched my heart exploded;
The butterflies in my stomach were doing flips like at an air show.
And when I looked up into your eyes, oh your eyes.
They are more amazingly breathtaking than a sea of diamonds.
They shine so bright; like gems set on fire.
I can see the essence of your beauty reflect straight through your eyes.
They’re captivating; they hold me on a standstill that I could wait forever for
If it meant just being in your arms for only a few seconds.
Oh how I long to be in your embrace,
I’ve dreamt about it many times.
But I’ve imagined more than others
When your lips will graze mine ever so lightly,
And you will sweep the breath out from inside me.
But I know these are all just dreams that can never exist outside my own thoughts.
Although whenever I think such things, I get a pain in my stomach,
Because I do know they will never happen.
With you I have learned that it is possible to love someone so much it hurts;
Moments when I think of you, and you are not here,
A sharp pain goes to my lower stomach.
You are the only one I have ever felt this way about,
So I know you are the only one that has meant more than anything to me.
The three most heartfelt words on this planet are not enough
To even begin to describe how much I care for you.
The simplest look to me can make my heart pound and the butterflies fly.
I only wish you knew how much I loved you.
